Dr. Oz’s Anti-Aging Eats

Dr. Oz’s Anti-Aging Eats

Dr. Oz is a well known medical surgeon from New York Hospital. He has appeared on shows including Dr. Phil, and Oprah Winfrey, giving the public a little insight to how different foods react with our bodies.

One important topic that comes up regularly with Dr. Oz is aging. How do we fight anti-aging? Is there anything that we can do to keep our bodies fit and healthy for as long as we can?

Here are some helpful solutions that Dr. Oz has revealed to help fight off the signs of aging.

  1. Eat 5 servings a day of foods that are high in antioxidants. A list of foods includes: blueberries, broccoli, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes.

  2. Have 4 cups a day of white or green tea.

  3. Have 1 glass a day of red wine.

  4. Include spices such as cinnamon, ginger, paprika, and rosemary in your meals. Cinnamon decreases blood sugar and cholesterol; ginger aids with arthritis pain; paprika improves circulation; and rosemary improves focus and learning.

Some additional foods that can help with aging include:

  1. Fiber: women should have 25 grams of fiber daily, whereas men should be getting 35 grams a day. Fiber helps keep the system regular, and helps flush out any toxins from the body.

  2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: these can be found in flax seed and walnuts to name a couple.

  3. Olive Oil: 1-2 tablespoons recommended daily, but not cooked in a frying pan as it loses its benefit.

Most of these anti-aging eats help the body in different ways, and not only are they good for fighting anti-aging, but they are important in our daily diets. So, try adding some of these foods into your regular daily diet, even if your intention is not to fight the signs of aging.
