Olympics: Softball Coming to an End - Canada vs. Australia

Wednesday morning could more than likely be the last time we see a Canadian Olympic Women's softball team compete for a metal. Since it has been broadcasted, this will be the last year we see softball as a competing sport at the Olympics. According to officials, it is a costly sport that doesn't bring in any fans – and something that is need of a desperate change. Although athletes would not agree, the Canadian Olympic Team is gearing up for what could be the last game they ever play at the Olympics.

The Canadian Olympics softball team slipped their way into the semi-finals, where they will play against the challenging Australian Women's team. The ladies have not done much to help out their hard working pitching team, however, they did manage to gain an offensive force when they scored 16 runs on 25 hits over Chinese Taipei, the Netherlands, and China.

However, losses in the past to the United States, Venezuela, and Australia from previous attempts hasn't distributed signs of confidence that the Canadian Team may be lacking. The Australian team also has their miraculous pitcher Tanya Harding, who has pitched in every Olympic game dating back to 1996 in Atlanta. There she held Canada's top line-up to one run in, in eleven bats.

Wednesday mornings' winner will go on to play the winner of the US vs. Japan Page One Play Off, and the loser will take home the bronze. Hopefully the Canadian Olympic Women's Team can pull some tricks out of their bag and make it to the finals – that would make for an amazing game in the finals.
