The season accounts for fitness.com athlete Matthias Giese as a successful athlete.
This was determined by City Triathlon of the "triathlon clubs Eisheiligen chaos" in the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital of Mainz, where he finished the Olympic distance (1.5 km swim / 40 km bike / 10 kilometre run). His time was exactly 2 hours 2 minutes. It was the first time that Giese, a native of Brandenburg, finished in his new home town of Mainz antrat. The launch was made from a ferry on the Rhine, where he had to swim back downstream. "It was necessary only because of the flow that you carefully exited properly, "said Giese.

The transition zone for cycling and running was directly on the Rhine. "The transition zone was a little too closely held, that it was not optimal," criticized the amateur athlete. There is the bike through Mainz and the 2.5-kilometer-long circuit running along the Rhine which is very picturesque. There were thousands of spectators, which made for an exciting day. Giese managed with an average speed of nearly 37 kilometres per hour, 40 km cycling. Or even a bit more: "Most had about 43 km on the speedometer. But that's not bad. Especially since the swim was probably a little shorter than 1.5 kilometres," said Giese. From here on in, the atmosphere was well worth the visit.

Whether it happens again next year in Mainz, Giese knows, however, still not sure if he wants to do "the Triathlon on the middle distance in Wiesbaden" a week later. Mainz and the Hessian state capital of Wiesbaden traditionally stand in intimate enmity. After the SV Wehen-Wiesbaden now in the 2nd Soccer-Bundesliga (German Soccer League), a club from the neighbouring city with the local competes FSV Mainz 05, runs the competition now apparently also by the sporting camp of the race.

Immediately after the race Giese spoke with fitness. He was already very relaxed. "I feel good. It was not as hot as I had imagined it to be," he said. I will now go home and pack my football bag. My team tonight has a cup game and if a man is not on, I play there still at half time," said Giese.

As such an inspiration to all triathletes, Fitness.com is proud to support Giese in his ongoing adventures in fitness.
