my diary

Wow Crunchie you're doing fantastic!

Keep up the great work!

At the rate you're going you'll be in the 140s in no time! So exciting :D

Have a great weekend .... you can do it!

Thanks for the message DTL.

I forgot to put one thing in my diary last night which also shows I've been successful so far. I can actually feel the fat dissapearing slightly from my abs. For example I can actually feel my ribs now and they don't have inches and inches of fat on top of them, I think I'm finally getting in better shape.

I certainly noticed last night that my swim suit is startingto show the first signs of being too big. The shoulder straps are very loose so I might see if I can get a new one next week.

I now see what people mean when they mention about not loosing weight but loosin inches.

Don't spend too much on that new bathing suit, I bet you'll need another new one in a couple of months anyways!

Supper: none
Snacks: banana,
Exercise: none
Fizzy juice: 1 can diet pepsi

Arg today started out Ok but ended in disaster.:(

As I was working 12-5 today I decided to have a tortilla wrap with grilled chicken breast for lunch having having the most reasonable breakfast I've had in ages. I had earlier made some boiled egg so I had that in a salad with the wrap so that was OK. At work I had a banana during my tea break - so far so good.

At tea time I got home to find mum had been working in the garden all day so did not want to cook and instead wanted Chinese. I though fine because I don't like Chinese anyway so I thought I'd cook myself something instead. Dad then said he was off to get mums Chinese and did I want anything. I said no as I don't like Chinese but for future reference would he please remember not to ask me if I want a take away curry. I then proceeded to cook myself a low fat curry with rice of my own.

However unknown to me dad had actually went into the Indian next to the Chinese and bought me a bag of pakora thinking I didn't have any tea planned so I wound up eating that along with some prawn crackers for tea. and even after 4 hours I still feel stuffed so as you can imagine I didn't have any supper.

It's my weigh in tomorrow as well so I hope I didn't gain too much!:( I had set aside Wednesday as my cheat day but wound up being a good girl so I suppose this is my reserved cheat day.

Hopefully back on track tomorrow.

Blast my worse fears were confirmed this morning when a bag of fatty pakora and the fact I did not exercise yesterday left me 1lb heavier.:(

I'm going to start only weighing myself weekly now as I tend to make a loss over the course of the week. Just every now and then there's a 1/2 or whole pound slip up and I'd rather not know about it! Ignorance really is bliss!:D

I've had to rethink my goals forthis week a bit, at the moment I'm settling for loosing another 2lb this week same as last week but keeping my exercise in check (did very well with that last week). I'll go out a bike ride today and maybe go swimming tomorrow after work.:)

Hmmm I must have weighed myself too early in the morning, just did so again after my shower and the 1lb extra has vanished. Maybe I need better scales but I guess after 5 hours sleep I wasn't going to have lost much.

The reason I've been getting up early the last few days is because of a baby bird that has found itself trapped in a garage compound opposite my house. The parents are still feeding it but some of us have taken to watching out for the poor mite when only one of the parent birds are present. I wound up flying out the house today to chase a cat away off the wall, might get done for indecent exposure later, my nightdress isn't really meant for running in.

Crunchie, there is something to be said for scales that "change their minds" in the right direction! :D

Thats so sweet of y'all to watch out for the baby birdie! :D If I had run out the door in my nighty, I would've scared the baby bird not the cat!!! LOL

Hope you have a great day! :D

To be fair I probably scared everything in the street. If not then my dad hurling out the door just after me wearing only trousers and no shirt would have done it too.

04/06/06

Breakfast: fruit juice, nectarine
Lunch: chicken salad in wholemeal tortilla wrap
Tea: vegetarian haggis, mashed potato, mixed boiled veg, ½ small fruit tart
Supper: rough Scottish oat cake
Snacks: slice of melon
Exercise: none
Fizzy juice: none
Water: 5 glasses
Fruit and veg portions: 5

Today started off with me flying out the front door at 6am trying to frighten a cat away from some birds. I decided I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep so had a nectarine for breakfast.

I got a very late lunch as I was tidying the house a bit this morning and that consisted of a wholemeal tortilla wrap with chicken and some salad!

Tea was cooked by my mum and we have mixed veg with mashed potato (I didn't take much potato) with vegetarian haggis (made with oatmeal and nuts mainly). Dad had brought home a fruit tart so not wishing to eat it all I halved it with mum.

Didn't eat anything else til supper when I had a rough Scottish oatcake (like a cracker but made with oaks). I'll get to the gym after work tomorrow and my exercise plan for this week looks like so...

Monday: Gym
Tuesday: Swim
Wednesday: Swim
Thursday: Gym and Swim
Friday: Gym and Swim

Oh well I had a pretty good session at the gym (370cal) having burned 150cal on the rowing machine, 100 on the bike and 120 on the treadmil (was trying to do the mile run again).

At the moment I'm making wholemeal pasta, home made sauce and goats cheese, yum!:D

Good on you for takin' care of that little bird, its so cute of you :p

I'm glad you've been doing good at the gym - the rowing machine still gives me trouble, I can't do more than a couple of minutes on it before my arms go on strike! I've been slacking in the gym department overall... I really need to get back on track >_>

05/06/06

Breakfast: fruit and cereal bar, pear
Lunch: brown roll on egg mayo and salad
Tea: wholemeal pasta with red pepper sauce
Supper: banana
Snacks: grapes
Exercise: gym session (370cal)
fizzy juice: none
Water: 5 glasses
Fruit and veg portions: 5

I'm obsessed with this bird, I realised just how paranoid I was tonight when I saw someone had gone into the compound its in and started chasing it.

I ran out the door (in night dress again) and screamed the most awful abuse ever at this guy. He must have been older than me but had the grace to look embarassed and then left.

Anyway as I said I had a good session at the gym today doing more on the rowing machine than I'd normally do and I've eaten quite healthily too I'd say.:)

06/06/06

Breakfast: banana
Lunch: baked potato, cheese, salad
Tea: 5 quorn chicken style dippers, 1 potato waffle
Supper: cup a soup
Snacks: grapes, carrot sticks
Exercise: swim session (64 lengths)
fizzy juice: none
Water: 4 glasses, 1 600ml bottle
Fruit and veg portions: 4

I really don't have too much to say about today, I found out the baby bird we'd been looking out for dissapeared some time last night. My dad had to chase someone out the compound that was chasing it and it looks like that was enough to frighten the parents enough to abandon the chick which must have been nabbed by a cat or something later on. I was feeling a bit depressed at work.:(

Tomorrow I'm going to do a bit of moutain climbing, the hill I'm trying to do isn't a Munro but it's still quite big. Think hat'll be my exercise for tomorrow!

There shouldn't be any snow on it this time of year I'd say!

Hi Crunchie, sorry about the bird, I had a birds nest outside my front door and the parents abandoned those babies too, I don't know why, it was so high up there nobody could bother it anyway, so they must have been bad birdie parents. I was really sad anyway though. Still, maybe you made what little time it had better. And you never really know what happened to it, maybe somebody realized the parents weren't feeding it and took it in to hand feed it. I've seen that happen. I used to rescue baby birds a few times a year and there were a couple of people (and groups) that would take them in, feed them mashed up worms with a dropper and then try to nurse them back to health. You can always be optimistic about it too!

Good job on the workouts & losing inches. I need to get my own exercise back on track.

I'm just a total suckerfor injured wildlife and neglected pets, I have over 100 animals living with me just now and there are a fair few that came from people who couldn't look after them any more. It's just as well most of them aren't too demanding.

Blue skies and and a light breeze just now so it's a perfect day for my climb. Another 1lb lighter on the scales today too so I'm only 2.5lb away from getting into the 140s.

Hi crunchie, How's it going babe?
Just wanted to pop in and say Hi and your food looks great! You're giving me ideas for lunch lol!
Sorry to hear about the bird :( But i think you lovely for helping all those animals. Good on ya! Good luck with the 2.5lbs to get into the 140's. You're almost there! :D

That's a lot of animals to take care of. I only have 2 cats, and that's enough for me for now. :)

Doing awesome on weight loss! Enjoy the climb, the hill looks beautiful!

Crunchie..just wanted to pop by say hello and congratulate you on your loss ( only in talking about weight can this comment not sound misplaced..hehe).. I like following your progress because you sarted earlier than me but at the same weight so I feel like I'm following you and getting my inspiration from you..keep it up dear :)

Well I'm just back from my climb and mum is in the shower so I have to wait a wee while. I was going to go swimming tonight but I'm a bit too tired. we started walking about 11.30am, reached the summit of the hill at 2.15pm and got back to the car at about 5pm after having a picnic on the top. I must admit I didn't really enjoy the climb much though so tick "hill-walking" off my list of possible things to do to get fitter.
Ben Ledi falls 150m short of being a munro but is apparently quite difficult to do compared to some of the munros (it's steep). We did see some wildlife we wouldn't have seen otherwise but the whole thing was a bit of a slog.

I'm going to have a nice bath and perhaps have a baked potato for tea.

Bedsy81: Thanks for popping in! Most of my family are animal lovers but my dad is allergic to fur and feathers, my room is like a zoo because anything without fur or feathers lives in it. I have snakes, tarantulas, scorpions and all sorts in my room.

NothinToLose: The lower highlands are a lovely part of Scotland. In particular the lochs Lubnaig and Venechar which I could see from the top of Ledi.

saram: Thanks for your kind message! I shall try to keep up eating healthily and hopefully I'll see some more weight come off!
