my diary

hi!

Thanks for posting in my diary. I have been reading yours every day for a while now, and really look forward to it. You are just adorable, with your baby bird stories and your big hairy tarantula! I wish you all the best. Keep writing, I love to read your encouraging posts.

hello

Hi crunchie, thanks for posting in my diary, and your kind words. I am still sticking to the program and am being rewarded for it. Loved your photos from your mountain climb. What a beautiful place.

Well I've just probably had the biggest breakfast (boiled egg and slice toasted brown bread) I've had in years along with half a glass of fruit juice and a big glass of water. I've got such a busy day today Ithought I'd better have something decent while I still could!

Got a get together on tonight at my house and unfortunately at these things everyone seems to like the usual crisps and nuts etc. Nuts I can live with but we've got two big bags of my favourite kind of crisps as well and I really don't want to eat any. Thankfully I'm also planning on preparing a big bowl of fruit salad so at least I have something to snack on that's not bad. My mum is moaning that I've eaten all the fruit in the house so she's having to buy more! I was also thinking of having something light but filling for my tea like high fiber cereal or a bowl of soup so that I don't eat too much when the party begins. Must remember and bag up on water as well!

Wish me luck folks, I think I'll need it!:(

You'll do great. I know how hard it is to not join in on all the munching......it is so easy to say..."oh a few won't hurt. I'll do better tomorrow"...so...just pretend we are all watching you and telling you to drink your water:D ! Great idea to eat something before...that always helps me too!

Good Luck, Crunchie! Thanks for posting in my diary. You are so diligent with your diary. It's great. What are crisps?

Hi Pineola,

Crisps are very thin slices of potato that have been deep fried then dried. They come in packets that are usually full offat and calories and have hardly any nutritional value and to cap it all they are drowned in salt. Doesn't stop them being tastey though!

10/06/06

Breakfast: piece toasted brown bread with boiled egg, fruit juice
Lunch: tuna sandwich on brown bread
Tea: ½ baked potato & cottage cheese
Supper: 2 slices cheese & tomato pizza
Snacks: large helping fruit salad, mixed nuts & raisins, crisps
Exercise: on feet at work from 10am-3pm
fizzy juice: none
Water: 5 glasses
Fruit and veg portions: 3

Well today has probably been the most disatrous day since I started though I'm still debating whether there was more calories in what I ate tonight than in that bag of pakora I had last Saturday. I think I must have ate the equivelent of 2 bags of normal sized crisps which isn't great but I thought there were more folk turning up (only two others in the end). :(

Oh well I've decided not to beat myself up about it and a bad cheat day won't do me any harm in the long run. Just need to get back on track tomorrow!

crunchie isnt there a rule that we can have pizza once in awhile lol..... hey it happens. sometimes we have to stray just to remind our stomach that we are still alive. Its a simple rule backslide one go forward six itll balance out. oh yea on your list you mention tea is that a time of day there? here tea is just tea......

It's okay

Oh, Crunchie, you work so hard. It's okay if you fell off the wagon today. That just means you have to run fast and jump back on! We know you will do it.

Hi Crunchie, bet your back on track already. Sometimes I've found eating something I would normally consider "off limits" gives my body a kick start and my weight drops a bit. (Not that I recommend it) So anyway, you're doing great, keep doing what you've been doing pre-cheat day and you'll be fine. By the way the bath did work, and its so worth spoiling yourself when neccessary, even for no reason in particular really. Thanks!

Dang and blast it is as I've feared, the thought of crisps, nuts and pizza has brought my pet 1/2 pound back to me. Never mind though my normal weigh in is on a Sunday and this week I still managed to loose 2.5lb overall last week so that's not to be sneezed at! My next weigh in is on Wednesday and this week I hope to shed another 2.5lb to get myself down into the 140's. If I can make 149.5 by the end of this month that'll be me down to the weight I was when I started university 4 years ago.:)

Just found out I'm going out with mum and dad for a meal on Tuesday but it's to an Italian place which I suppose will be better than Indian or Chinese. They cook pizza very well at this place (not quite so much grease as there is on take away pizzas) so I might get either a pizza or a plain pasta dish.

Today I also plan to take a cycle to my work even though I'm not working to see how long it takes me to do this. If it's a reasonable time then I may start cycling to my work instead of taking the car. It's about 4.5 miles to my work so it shouldn't be bad and it's all along the canal so fairly even.

Well done with the weight loss you have been doing great!!! Don't worry about getting off track, i have been this weekend, just get straight back on. I know you have the motivation too. Keep up the great work!!!!

you're doing great Crunchie! What a wonderful idea to take your bike to work! I wish I could! Its just hard to pick up the kids from school when I'm on a bike and I can't have them riding their bikes b/c its a main truck route :( I am SO envious!
Keep up the great work! :D

Crunchie, I also have had a not so great eating weekend. But I still ate less than I would have 3 weeks ago and I know my body thanks me for that! You are doing so great that a few days with extra calories will not completely throw you off....besides all that salt from the crisps probably made you retain water. BTW...we call crisps potato chips in the states :D and I love the salt and vinegar ones!!!!
You keep doing what you've been doing all along and you will be just fine...we all know you can and are standing in your cheering section right now!

Hey Crunchie! Thanks for stopping by my diary! :D

That 1/2 of a pound may not actually be a weight gain but just because of all the salt and stuff. Get in a lot of water today. Don't worry! Like someone mentioned above, there is a rule that says we all have to have pizza and chips every once in a while! :p :D

11/06/06

Breakfast: fruit salad
Lunch: ½ tin lentil soup, 1 slice brown bread
Tea: 2 x tortilla wraps with grilled chicken & salad
Snacks: banana, portion fruit salad
Supper: grapes, rough Scottish oakcake
Exercise: 30min bike ride, 20min walk
fizzy juice: none
Water: 6 glasses
Fruit and veg portions: 7

Much better day today owing mainly to the huge amount of left over fruit salad I had heh! I went on a short bike ride after my tea and before supper and was trying to time it so I'd get home in time to watch a football game (may be a bit selfish as I watched the other two games that were on today). I love the world cup even though Scotland never feature in it so non stop football is great!:D

Decided to leave an hour early for work on Tuesday to see how long it takes me to get there by cycling, I've a feeling I may be a bit saddle sore tomorrow!

I'm going to have a nice relaxing bath and then watch the last football game of the day! Have a good week all!

Well I checked the scale this morning again and my pet 1/2lb has gone again but this time I'm down 1lb and not just half. That's me lost 9.5lb so far so really pleased with that! Hopefully can get the last 1.5lb off so that I'm back into the 140's! I've got 4lb to go before I reach my half way point, as my jeans are now a bit roomy I'll post some before and after pictures when I reach halfway.:)
