Well done

Hey, you are doing brilliantly. Your eating plan is really great! I wish I had your motivation to cut out all the junk, but I can't seem to survive without at least one thing bad for me a day. Must try harder! Anyway, you're doing really well.

I'm a bit amazed with that myself actually, considering how much crisps etc I used to eat I'm surprised I don't miss stuff like that as much. My trick has been to find healthy alternatives that I like just as much, maybe you could try some new fruits or snack bars.:)

Oh well I've just been across to Tesco for a wee bit of shopping and here is what I got...

  • Big brown loaf
  • Brown pita breads
  • Wholemeal pasta
  • Low sugar breakfast bars
  • Low fat cup a soups

Hello NothingToLoose, although I live in the central belt in Scotland we aren't too far from the Southern Highlands (kind of get the best of both worlds because we're nor far from the big cities either).

Lunch: vegetarian home made veg curry with brown rice
Tea: Egg salad in brown pita bread, raw carrot
Supper: cup a soup (78), fruit juice

Today has went well eating wise but not so good exercise wise because I was at work.:(

Since I was working tonight 5pm-8pm I decided to have my main meal at lunch time. Since it was early in the day I thought it was OK to have brown rice with some veg curry.

Before I headed to work at 4.30pm I had a brown pita bread on boiled egg and salad along with a raw carrot. I've had a few snacks of pieces of fruit and had a nice cereal bar for breakfast but I think I'll have a Cup A soup for supper as my head is feeling a wee bit sore.:(

Overall good day :)

Oh well a bit of drama for me last night inthat I got rushed to hospital after the white part of my right eye swelled up really badly. Thankfully all it was was an allergic reaction to something so it will go away but I was rather worried because the, and I kid you not, the white part of my eye had ceased to be white and had turned into a horrible pink jelly. It was a bit scary at the time but I was given some tablets and the swelling has gone down. I've enclosed a photo at the end of this thread so you can see the gory details.

Anyway on to weight loss! I've found that the phantom 1/2lb I put on yesterday has gone again so I've now lost 4lb in total since last week when I started the diet. Only three more pounds until I reach my first goal of half a stone shed! :)

Today as my eye is currently the size of a tennis ball (or feels like it) I'm not going to eat much and I'm unsure if I'll make the gym at night as my vision has been clouded slightly and I won't be able to drive on my own.:(

I've had a pear for breakfast and intend to have some pasta for lunch seeing as it'll be earlier in the day and I'll be going to the gym at night (hopefully).

YIKES!! rest up for sure. hopefully the swelling goes down soon! congrats on FOUR pounds in one week. WOW. that is awesome.

Oh my goodness, that looks painful!! Glad to hear it's feeling a bit better! Do they know what caused the allergic reaction???

Good job on the 4 lb weightloss! That's amazing, in one week too! crazy good.

cheers
michelle

Believe it or not the eye wasn't painful at all, just very uncomfortable. The swelling has gone down today and it's actually starting to go back to ts usual white colour. I'll be back at work tomorrow seeing as how I'm less likely to fleg the bairns.

I woke up after a wee while so I've had a wee apple and drink of water for supper.

omg!

Hello Crunchie,

Looks like you are doing great so far!! I really wish you all the best !:p
So far, youve lost more weight than me

I really enjoyed your pictures of the beautiful landscape and the Scottish cow. I adore Scotland, and I really want to visit it some day.
I keep stick insects too! They are so adorable..LOL. Have you got fish too? Fish are (apart from tortoises) my absolute favourite animals. They really are smart, and dont have 5 sec. memories, like so many folks think!
I got goldfish, goldcarp, koi and some others.
My fav animal is my pet tort, his name is Tau Tau. I found him on my lawn some years ago.

Anyways, keep up the good work!!!

Sorry about the eye, it looks like it was very painful:eek:

Congrats on the weight loss...you are doing so well!

Hi mumtotwo and white_dolphin. Thanks for your well wishes regarding my eye but thankfully it seems to be better now.:)

I'm at work at the minute so I've had an egg mayo roll (brown roll) and two apples, mum said she was making tea but I'm not sure what she plans to make.

white_dolphin: Yes I keep fish too, I have a big cold water tank and a tropical tank but I've been over run with baby guppies at the moment. I shall dig out some more photos I've taken around Scotland for you some time. I love beluga whales by the way, because Scottish people are generally quite pale and I'm overweight I think I probably resemble one!:D

Breakfast: Fruit and cereal bar, apple
Lunch: egg mayo roll(brown), apple
Tea: salmon fillet, boiled veg, brown rice
Supper: cup a soup, fruit juice
Snacks: apple, handful dried apple, Go Ahead apple bake bar
Exercise: none
Fizzy juice: none
Water: 2 glasses, 4 500ml bottle
Fruit and veg portions: 6

Oh well today as probably not been too great, I didn't get any exercise in because the medicine I got for my eye makes me damn sleepy.

As I was at work all day today I had a fruit and cereal bar and an apple for breakfast before getting my usual egg mayo/salad brown roll for lunch. I had an apple with my roll so a healthy lunch really. In my afternoon break I had one of those apple bake bars from Go Ahead that are nice but probably not as low fat as they claim to be.

Mum prepared my tea which was a small salmon fillet, brown rice and mixed boiled veg, a healthy tea then but followed it up with a handful of dried apple (I LOVE dried fruit). I found I was completely shattered after tea so I had a bath and read a book for a wee while then came online (here I am).

At 4lb lost (though God knows how much I'll put back on tomorrow) it's been a reasonably successful week and I did exercise enough apparently but my eye prevented me from driving to the gym yesterday and having a swim.

My goal next week is to up my exercise though that might be difficult as I'm working pretty much full time next week.:( I hope to shed the remaining 2lb to reach my first goal of half a stone shed.:)

Whoo-hoo, I see you lost another lb! Congratulations! You're doing great, keep going! Its ok to take a break with exercise since you're on medicine. You have a good plan for getting back into in next week. Way to go!

Breakfast: none
Lunch: ½ baked potato, 2 table spoons low fat cottage cheese, apple
Tea: curried chicken and veg in wholemeal pita bread
Supper: cup a soup, apple
Snacks: banana, fruit juice, small piece of short-bread
Exercise: 1/2 hour walk, 1.5 hour walk
Fizzy juice: 1 can diet irn bru
Water: 6 glasses
Fruit and veg portions: 5

Well today has been OK regarding eats aside from 1 can of diet irn bru and half a bit shortbread taken at my grans house (couldn't refuse her two weeks running). Anyway I slept a bit too late to have breakfast so I had a half sized baked potato with a wee drop cottage cheese for brunch.
Headed to my grans house after this where shortbread was consumed (it shouldn't do that much harm, I've not had anything sweet for 8 days now).

Thankfully after leaving my grans house my mum and aunt suggested we go for a walk up the town. As I needed new trainers anyway I decided to go too and so we wandered about the town for 30mins. I got my trainers (very cheap heh I'm not Scottish for nothing) and also a new jacket (for ages 13-14 hmph).

At night I boiled up some veg and chicken with a wee bit of curry paste and powder and had that with a brown pita bread instead of rice, this was also where the naghty can of irn bru was consumed.

Afterwards I went out for a long walk by the canal for about 1 and a half hours so that should have burned a few cals. For supper I'm limiting myself to a cup a soup and an apple.

Tomorrow thankfully my mum is taking me to the gym at night so hopefully will be able to get back into the swing of exercising after my long walk today.

It looks like you are doing terrific. The headaches you are having may be caused from cutting back on sugar and fatty foods it should pass in the next week or so. I hope you are having a wonderful week.
