Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Hope you had a good juice day! And keeping to no carbs at dinner/no eating after supper! (I think I would fail at that diet! I love carbs and leave as many calories as possible for after supper, haha)

Hey MaryAnne, sounds like the start of a good week. Lets both have a fat showdown haha!!!

Have you had any nice juice yet? I've got a juicer I don't use, you might inspire me.

Hey Anna - Fat-showdown... luv it.... but I'm pretty sure you'll win....
me being middle-aged... I am a Slow-loser.... but let's see who can squeeze off the most this week ?...

Have not had time to open-up the juicer yet(busy few days at my end with my on-line tutor work)..but hopefully in a day or two - a gal at work makes a lot of smoothies/juice- said' she'll bring me some of her recipes... .. I have picked a spot on my kitchen counter - nice & central -easy to access - so I'm hoping having it right in front of me each day will inspire me....

Hey Mystic - not had chance to try out the juicer yet...

- the No Carbs dinner/no after-supper eats...it's not too bad - but I luv my carbs too ( maybe too much! hee hee ).... I just really want to lose a bit of weight this week - took me 2 weeks to clear-off the "vancouver" gain ... I remembered Sarah said she lost most of her weight restricting carbs and no evening eating...so thought I'd try it...

Hey folks- Tuesday - the week is edging forward...
View attachment 19846 ..bit tired this mornin'...time for some coffee soon..

Did well on my goals yesterday-
30+45mins. treadmill - yes
No carbs with supper - yes ( stuck to my steak & salad)(steak is really filling- I was suprised- felt full- even without any potatoes...)
No eats after supper - yes -

Today -
exercise- plan- 30+45 mins.treadmill

food- budget today is 1,200 cals - planned food- bkfst-235cals,lunch-520cals,that leaves me 445cals for supper- we are planning to eat out tonite ( shopping run to city)- so I'll likely chose a dinner salad with some protein(maybe chicken or shrimp) added to keep within my cal. budget.View attachment 19848
*(I've noticed my slim sister-in-law , & my hubby's slim cousin both tend to order dinner-size salads with protein for their supper when we got out...am thinking it just might be a good way to control calories??...)

wishing eveyone a successful Tues...
cheers, Maryann C.

One of the sneaky tricks to salad is that because it's just a bunch of pieces laying on a plate (or in a bowl) people usually only eat about two thirds of it as it eventually becomes difficult to pick it up with a fork (which also forces you to eat slower). So when they're done, there's a bunch of food and dressing left over that they don't eat. Whereas with a steak or a burger, the steak is there one minute and gone the next and the plate is empty. It's a sneaky method of portion control.

That said, I've seen some "salads" at some restaurants that probably are upwards of 1,500 calories (meaning you eat about 1,200). Loaded Caesar salads are a common offender on this one. Two pounds of chicken and a cup of ranch dressing has a lot of calories regardless of how many vegetables you surround them with. :)

Hey Maryann, salad option could be good in a restaurant. I usually don't eat salad when we go out - i m like - i can eat that at home. In December , my father i law was here - & I felt self conscious - I ordered a salad (at a Mexican) - & it was amazing!!! I loved it so much! It had chicken and mango and all other yummies!!!
So yeah it could be a good idea - especially for dinner (I always eat less for dinner)

Hey Wednesday... halfway thru the week - yay !

thanks for the salad tips ... good filler, chewy- nice and slow to eat , BEWARE dressings...& ADD-ONS ... no more than 3 or 4 chickens at a time.. lol ...View attachment 19851 View attachment 19852 ...

last nite ended up being an indian-food restaurant ( no salad at all on their menu -lol).... so I avoided the nan-bread(starch) & stuck to portion control with protein( had beef vinadlay... was good -but kept it to only 1/2 of what came- & doggy bagged the rest)...

my goals yesterday- not great - treadmill- zip ( just didn't have time), no carbs with supper( did have 1 spoon rice-), no eats after supper- Yes.
...eeek - only met 1/3 of my goals yesterday.... bad me. View attachment 19853

Plan today:
calorie budget - 1,600 - planned - bk/lunch- at 595 ....so that leaves 1005 for supper - lots... think I'll go for an afternoon snak...so not such heavy cals at supper...

exercise: plan for 30+45mins treadmill.

Have an errand this aftn-but will be back home for supper -so shouldn't mess-up my food plan today... (busy week in my humble little life)-but this evening, Thurs/Fri bak to bit quieter...

ok - PLAN- make it 3 for 3 today- View attachment 19854
Treadmill 30+45 /No carbs supper/No eats post-supper...Here I GO !!

WIshing everyone a successful mid-week Wednesday,
Cheers, maryann

I hope you got your goals MaryAnne, they seem like really good ones which should be effective. I love Indian food, but it seems difficult to eat healthy. I just want to eat it all and then a bit more! Oh we'll, when I'm slim i'llbe able to have it occasionally.

Hi ya - Thursday... ahhh...the weekend draws closer ....View attachment 19863

Thanks Mands, Anna & Mystic for the support - I am really trying full effort this week - the "well wishing" really helps me..thankyou gals...

& Yes Anna - Indian food is so tasty...I don't know how they make the flavours so amazing...but darn...so good... it wasn't easy holding off on taking more helpings..but I was with hubby- & he knows how hard I am working on weight loss - & I would feel self-concious ( & a hippocryte) to eat too much in front of him. ( I also keep remembering your comment Mands- you want to be proud of yourself - not ashamed... I am working hard on proud too ! )
yesterday- did not too bad ( hit 2/3 of goals)View attachment 19864
- no treadmill( ran out on time & too tired- errands in city took longer than planned-didn't get home until late)
- food - did stick to those goals- (no carb supper/no aftr supper eats)
..supper was steamed talipia/roasted vegs, & stuck to NO Eats after supper.

Plan today:
30+45mins treadmill, 150steps on stepper(have missed that a few days now-time to get back to it)View attachment 19865
food: budget is 1,200 - bk+lunch is 500cals...so that leaves 700 for an aftn snak+supper....should be good ( am getting used to being hungree- it is ok )( I remember Oprah describing once" that hungry tingle in my stomach tells me I am burning some fat"....
Have a good one today, wishing everyone success,....View attachment 19866
and (hopefully) ... will be 3/3 on goals for MEEeee !!... here I go ....

For the most part I agree you should be proud of yourself instead of ashamed. But every now and then I like to feel ashamed of myself because that probably means I've done something I should be ashamed of. And _that_ probably means I had a good time. :D

Good work on refusing the seconds. It's very hard for me when out with family.

Oh I love Indian food so much!! I must avoid it during my diet/or make it at home - to save calories. But yeah with friends going there you can't always avoid everything. Well done for portion controlling - good job.
& it's almost weekend time!

I'm not sure I have ever had indian food. Will have to put it on the list of things to try soon. Hope today went as you hoped!

Maryann with the support on here we all will be feeling proud at the end of this journey. But then it becomes a lifelong commitment not to stray back to old habits. That's what I hope to achieve for this eating style to become a permanent lifestyle....maybe now and again the odd sweetie :) but the key is MODERATION.

Well done on no eats after supper! Have a super Thursday!

Yay Friday !...View attachment 19874

,...thanks Mands & Mystic for the cheerleading... I need it this week...I hope I am getting close to finding a successful routine for me...

Yesterday- goals all good! got my 3/3! - 30+45Treadmill, no carb supper, no after supper eats. - made the grated-zucchini (corgettes) salad from Justina's recipe link- it was good ... very simple- just coarsely grated zucchini, some lemon juice/vinegar/bit honey/poppyseeds /salt&pepper to taste for dressing- toss& eat- quite good & different...
View attachment 19886
weight- about 1/2lb.down this AM - so.... plan for next week - try for 3/3 every day & see what the scale says... if I get my 3/3 for 5 days straight-am thinking scale should oblige...

today- plan for healthy eats, break from treadmill ( I need a "mental" day off from exercise... ) we are going out to a BBQ tonite (yup-it's snowy here...but a brave cousin is having us over- he will be outside BBQng & rest of us will be inside enjoying.. lol)
