Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

'Tis the season, apparently. I bought two beautiful eggplant this week for the same reason... they looked beautiful. I love eggplant and I love ratatouille, but I've never made it. I stir fry it, bake it, (fried it), and even pickled it (Japanese thing), but never ratatouille. Let us know how it goes.

You are doing superbly! So much temptation & avoiding them all! 2 pretzels are okay.
I had a pretzel today ( a big one - German style ) - my absolute weakness. I messed up my diet this last week.
But i m back on the wagon.

Hope you have a great Valentine's day!

Maryann, you are doing soooo awesome with your goals - High 5 girl!!!

Don't even think about the 2 pretzels - a drop in the bucket when looking at how much tempation was around you.

Hey all - Happy Friday !! woo hoo ....weekend .....
View attachment 19930
Did ok yesterday... 2/3 on my goals- got the treadmills done, had no after supper eats..but did have a bit of carbs with supper ( small serving dessert-choc.mousse... felt I deserved a small treat- ... oh well...) View attachment 19931

The Ratatouille was yummy - the recipe I used was baked in oven- called for parchment on top for the baking( keeps the moisture in, but allows for roasting)& I had some fresh cilantro I added - it really gave a nice flavour ... it turned out really tasty.. will definately make this one again... especially since it uses lots of veg's ( egg plant, zucchini, red & yellow peppers, onion & garlic, and tomatoe paste, some olive oil)..all healthy foods.

Am feeling inspired (read a few posts on the site this morning - so much hard work & positive energy happening ..) ... we can do this ! View attachment 19932

Plan today:
Exercise - my 30+45mins. on treadmill, ... & will try for stepper at noon too ...
food: budget is 1,200 cals today - planned - I've got 875 planned - bigger lunch, lighter supper - gonna have some left-over ratatouille / and some fruit&yogurt...will see how I do ...it's a bit low cal - but really trying to push for another pound down..then will go back up to my 1,400 cal budget , so I don't wipe-out my metabolism...

Wishing everyone a nice Friday with healthy eats & some cal-burning exercise,
cheers, View attachment 19933

Happy Friday MARYANN! :)
I got motivated today as well - good to read so many inspirational diaries.
You have great plans for food and exercise!!

One cheat in a whole week, I think not to bad. You've done amazing with achieving your goals. That Ratatouille sounds amazing!!

Have a fab weekend and stay on track with those goals!

Hey all- sheesh - what a Saturday morning , ......
View attachment 19937
am on-call with work, some on-call weekends- not a single-call, but today & of-course(as it's a long-weekend here in Alberta) - 8:30am- ring ring...

- for most calls I can resolve their issue by phone-but today-major isssue- had to go to work-site in person... support tech did not return call - then when they finally did - took 2 & 1/2 hours 'til they made it on site... just a totally frustrating morning for me.. View attachment 19938

...already tuff week for me - as close elderly family member is in hospital - is looking now like he'll be ok (had a minor procedure)- but we were quite worried ...

...then family dinner in-planning has a conflict- one side can come, one cant'....dates conflict...oy...

... so - all this stress resulted in 5 triscuits crackers +cheese + some chocolate bar .....
~ so - not a good calorie day for me so far....sheesh...View attachment 19940

...but - then came on here -read a few posts- feel better - haven't been this wound-up in a long-time..I am thinking eating lots used to "mellow-me"...now- feel all my emotions a lot stronger...will need to work on better ways to deal with stress- as cheese/crackers/chocolate not something I want to repeat too often...

- so .... modified plan for today:
..just try & eat healthy rest of the day , will make a blender-juice shortly (I think the "fresh" will help me feel better).
...per Justina's example- I wont' let this bad morning ruin my journey-
...I will hop on my treadmill now ( exercise usually helps my nerves... maybe should have done the treadmill before I turned to the cheese/crackers/chocolate) ... oh well...lesson learned...that's an old habit I need to be more aware of...

plan for rest of weekend - 1,400 cals/day , exercise: 30+30mins treadmill each day.

next week: will stik to my 3-3 plan-
1.treadmillx2 sessions daily
2.no-carb supper
3.no after supper eats.

- calorie budget - will go back to alternating 1,600 with 1,200 cal days ( the straight 1,200 cal days were pretty tuff to stick with - and didn't really speed up loss- as was only the 1 lb. this week).

Wishing everyone a nice Saturday( at least better than my morning went...argghhhh)

cheers all ,
Maryann

Oh Maryann, what a dreadful morning. Isn't it always like this, one stressful event attracts more?
I hope things settle down & you can organize that dinner.

After bad snacking you really have a great pick me up plan in place!! Go you!!!
The scale won't even notice that you got side tracked :p

I hope you have a more relaxed Sunday!
Hugs! x

Hello Maryann! I am at last back from a glorious vacation and thought I'd pop in to catch up briefly. Sounds like you had the weekend from Hell from a work standpoint. Good plan on eating healthy... And think how far you have come...given what you described, I'm betting in the past you would have totally eaten your way to oblivion and then felt even worse about it afterwards. Now, you can see it for what it is... Things are beyond your control and you can deal with it! I call that monumental progress!
I will write in my diary once I see the damage from my 2 weeks off...I don't think it was too bad...I did eat a lot, but I continued a pretty significant exercise routine too to keep up for theses thin. Don't be too hard on yourself...focus on the progress you have made in so many ways!
Sarah

Hi all - a nice - (much calmer) Sunday morning for me....
View attachment 19942

thanks Justina and Sarah ( welcome back) - for the support - I did need it....
..good work Sarah on balancing all that yummy food on vacation with lots of exercise-sound plan.

...I did manage to do the treadmill yesterday....it did feel good to do something positive after my stress-eats yesterday... and you are right Sarah - in the past- my "comfort food" would have been a lot more than the crackers & bit of chocolate... my bad habits are improving... thankyou for reminding me...

Plan today:
exercise- treadmill x 2 sessions
food- healthy choices - try to keep around 1,500 cals or so..

Have some errands in the morning , and a hospital visit in the afternoon, and am hopeful work on-call will be quieter...

Am feeling rested and recovered from yesterdays' "fun"... ... my hubby reminded me - that I am paid for the on-call , and that's why I am on-call- to help them thru challenges like they had yesterday... so I am feeling better about it...

so... "bump" day behind me... going forward- will do my best to make today a good day ...
...mmm- time to make an apple-celery blender juice .... and hit the treadmill...

Hey Maryann - so glad you are feeling better!! :)
We had pizza today - well sort of - i purposefully did not tell my husband it was a pizza - as it only slightly resembles one - however it is delicius and the kcal value is a dream. It's tortilla wrap thin - we had it as a snack.
Check out the recipe - you might like it
It is super easy to make & my husband liked it too (that's quite something lol)

Hey MOnday!... ( no work for me today-long weekend here...yay.)View attachment 19952

thanks Justina for sharing the "pizza" recipe...it looks yummy - & bonus that your husband liked it... I will check it out. :)

- I did behave at the pizza supper at in-laws yesterday- stuck to 1 piece + lots of salad ! ..wasn't easy- that pizza had lots of cheese - ... but I did it..

- there was dessert too - squares, cupcakes & home-made oatmeal cookies... so I opted for 1 oatmeal cookie ( figure that was the least offensive of the choices)(at least had some fibire)... as was my mother-in-laws - I just didn't want to be rude & not have anything... but maybe will bring a plate of some fresh fruit next time- along with the salad... anyway - scale ok this morning- weight stable - all good.

Plan today:
food - will plan for around 1,500cals - healthy choices
exercise - plan for 2 x 30mins. treadmill & have lots laundry today-so I'll be doing lots of trips up&down stairs.View attachment 19951

wishing everyone a nice Monday with healthy-food & some energizing exercise.. marching forward on the weight-loss-healthy-trail ...

cheers Maryann

One slice of pizza? Well done! & loads of salad too! Kudos to you. I don't think I could have done it! Portion control is so hard sometimes!

Well done Maryann! You have great self control & are a good example. Cheers, xoxo Cate

Nice job on the resistance of all the yummy goodies! That takes a whole lotta strength and looking the other way and reminding yourself why you are doing this. Great job!
