Hey all - good day today - am 3/3 on the goals- treadmill/no carb supper/no eats aftr supper... yay... I can do this !

Juicer - did fire-it up tonite.... had an apple/with some celery sticks -taste was yummy - lovely pale green color... tasted real-fresh ( never had home-made juice before- totally different than the bought-stuff in jugs at the store)...
... BUT - discovered the juicer I bought was not the features I was expecting - it has lots of parts, all dishwasher safe- but 5 parts to wash each time I use it ...and - the pulp/fibre is separated out !... i was expecting the fibre to be blended-in to the juice( like the info-mercial I'd seen on TV last month)... ...a gal at work had said the "big box store" one is the same as on TV - NOT !! .... so ....juicer is all washed up & back in the box-will go back to big-box-store later this week.
..and my juicer shopping resumes.. to try & find a source for a quality one like I saw on tv that keeps the pulp right in with the juice - so it comes out more like texture of a smoothie- ...with all that fibre from the fruit/veggies ...vitamins from the peels...all blended in - that is what I am after!

Wishing everyone a nice evening....time to go do some on-line juicer research.... lol

cheers all,
maryann C. :)

The juice sounds yummy, a bit like veges straight from the garden. I had lettuce basil and parsley in my lunch that had been growing 5 min before I ate it. So crunchy and delicious.

Good luck finding the perfect juicer :)

Hey, with juicing it is normal to separate the pulp from the juice. I usually use the pulp for face mask!! :p Better than store bought cream - lol.
Otherwise I would use it as fertilizer in the garden (if I had a garden)
If I want the pulp I blend. Of course you cannot really blend carrots and apples...but if you want the fibers you are probably better off just eating them whole! :)
I hope you can get a juicer that meets your expectations!! Good luck!

Hey all - Tues - day 2 - going for 5 days of 3/3 goals this week....

Plan today:
exercise: 30+45mins treadmill
food: budget-1,200 cals - planned-1,140.
no carb supper/no eats after supper

Making juice/veg smoothies- I did surf-around a bit last nite - found a couple web links that say you can do veggies in your blender...so gonna give that a try tonite... I am thinking softer vegs /fruits might work ... it was so nice to whip up a fresh drink yesterday after work...

...sigh... my hubby asked if I want to go out for supper for Valentine's this week - sigh -sigh- faced with eating out again... as much as I enjoy a break from cooking -am thinking I will suggest just a nicer supper at home - BBQ something maybe.. I just really want a straight 5 days with no eating out...

Wishing everyone a nice Tuesday with healthy choices...

cheers Maryann

Maryann stunning job on the 3/3 for 5 days already! My hubby also wanted to go for Sushi (my fave) on Valentine's day and unfortunately I'm not allowed ANY rice - so we opted for a steak house.

Nice going on the "smoothies"

Good day - made 3/3 on goals ( 30+45Treadmill,no carb supper, no aftr suppr eats)

Juice - did make a "smoothie" in blender & blender did not "blow up"...yay. - made it with 1 apple, 3 stalks celery, & about 1/3 cup water - - tasted good - ok-maybe not as good as a milkshake..but nicer than chewing on 3 stalks celery...I added a little cinnamon... it really fills you up - all the "veggie fibre"...

well - this makes day2 this week on my goals... ?will tomorrow be a good day 3?...will see ... (am feeling a bit energetic... ? ...maybe it's the low-cal...or the "vitamins" from the "juice-smoothy".... ) ...

cheers , Maryann
nite all ....

well...day 3 of goals- & scale is (finally) kind this morning - down 1 lb.! ..

thanks Mystic & Mands for the support gals...

Watched a really inspiring documentary last nite (found it when I was googling about juice yesterday)- "Fat/Sick/and Nearly Dead".... all about an australian dude who suffered with an autoimmune disease - and managed to do a 60day fresh-green-juice fast - lost lots of weight-but most important - he was able to resolve his disease (an extreme skin condition) and was able to get off of his steroid medications. - ...his theory- eating closer to "nature".... called Micronutrients- fruit/veg/beans/nuts... the less processed/the more natural/the better....

... so , while I don't think I could handle just "smooothies" for 60days.... I am liking my "green smoothie" once a day as my after-work , "healthy filler-up" snak -...here is to fruit-veg smoothies' in the blender... yay.

Plan today:
Exercise: 30+45treadmill
food: budget 1,200 cals , plan - 1,150.

wishing everyone a nice Wednesday- with healthy food & exercise,
cheers, Maryann C.

Doing great Maryann! I wish I had my juicer back. My ex DIL 'borrowed' mine years ago & I would LOVE it back. Well done on the 1lb loss! xoxo Cate

That's great Maryann, love seeing the scales finally drop after a plateau.

I've heard about that movie, and been meaning to watch it. I heard the man being interviewed that other day. I think he's starting a worldwide juicing trend. Breville should sponsor him! I might have to have a go. It's a great idea for that late afternoon snack, it's one of my dangerous times of the day. I just want to eat and eat.

Nice job on the weight drop Maryann. It's great when you do the right things and see the results on the scale. Very motivating.

Hey Thursday .... day 4 for me today of my 3goals/day week...
View attachment 19921

thankyou for the support guys - am really working hard this week- - thanks for the encouragement- I needed that!

Yesterday was good- did all 3 goals ( 30+45treadmill, no carb supper, no eats after supper)-

** ( ..... my smoothie yesterday had apple+3 small zucchini's/with peel included... my stomach wasn't too happy - maybe 1 zucch. is enuf... ?...)

.. mother nature brought some fresh-heavy-wet snow yesterday- arghh... did some shovelling yesterday, more today... I know I know- it's good exercise- calorie burn etc etc...

..wishing everyone a nice Thursday with healthy food/exercise...
& hope you all have a nice Valentine's- spoil yourself a little - but keep it "non-chocolate" lol.... View attachment 19922

.... aargghh... valentines' .... surrounded by "treats" at work today
View attachment 19927
- chocolates, squares .... such a conspiracy... I manged to keep treats out of my own house..but forgot about work ...
... I managed to steer-clear on the chocolates...broke down & did have 2 pretzels( the kind with peanut-butter inside...) - I really like them... held off for over an hour...then just had to have ...but kept it 2 ...in the past...it would have been 2 handfuls...

- supper tonite - not going out ( per my request) - we are eating-in... and keeping the "treat" partly-healthy, we are having butter-chiken ( I'll weigh my serving to keep portion-size in line), and salad , and ratatouille....

... the ratatouille is a funny story- I bought an egg-plant with groceries this week...it looked so nice & shiny-purple ... View attachment 19926 I am trying to explore new veggies' I've not tried before- to get more veggies in my diet...
..last nite I google egg-plant recipes- as I've never cooked it before- no idea what the heck to do with it... low& behold- recipe for ratatouille comes up....
I LIKE Ratatouille !...never had any clue that it contained Egg-plant...

..so , tonite we will have ratatouille with supper ... it's actually fairly low-cal - 80cals/serving... View attachment 19925

- exercise - session 1 of treadmill done, gonna go do my 2nd 1/2hr now...so I won't feel too guilty 'bout the bit-bigger supper tonite- will feel like a feast after those 1,200cal days this week...

cheers , Maryann
