Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Hey Anna - yup - that's pretty cold - but , believe it or not- can get even colder here....around -30c is about the worst we can get - we just stay inside a lot- cover up (coats/boots/toques/mitts) -quick dashes house to vehicle to work or store.... keep cars plugged-in (block heaters) or start them up every 4-6hours...so they don't freeze up.... I grew up here in Alberta - so I'm used to it...but a lot of folks here do a mid-winter holiday for a break - ..it's -18today- so a bit better... sometimes we get clear skies with the cold, sometimes overcast....

I never watched R.Simmons show either.... just remember him being funny - but just might have to get one of his DVDs now....

Cold Canadian morning here ... and.... sore muscles !...the 2 days of 200 steps on stepper caught up with me...butt & calves are sore this morning...! will back-off a bit today on the stepper I think...

Plan for today:
Exercise: shovel snow ( yup-snowed again overnite), 2 x 1/2hr treadmill

food: budget- 1,200cals today - plan - 1,260 .+ lots of tea... * ( I get fairly hungree on 1,200cals- but really want to get that scale moving again).

cheers all,
wishing everyone a nice Thursday with healthy choices
Maryann C.

Yes, strangely enough we may have the same neighbors. They call 'em 'snowbirds' down here, and we get lots of folks from the Western half of Canada who spend significant time down here in the winter. Sort of a Florida for Western North America, it's just cheaper and less congested than California.

I should call up Tim Horton's and try and set up the franchising rights here. :)

-24 I would die! Our winter temps are now around 9 - 19 and I'm freezing and hibernating like a bear. Even my family calls to ask if I'm still alive as I rarely leave the house - only if I have to. How do you operate in that cold?

Great work on the exercise!

Good job on all the exercising! We are warm again this week! +2- +4!! Definitely enjoying it but need lots of washer fluid in the car!

yup - lots closer for us to fly to Phoenix than to Florida ( although mr.mickeyM does lure a lot of us that way each winter too)...& totally - us Western Canadians' really luv drinking our Tim.H. coffee ( I think it's a habit we develop up here in the winter.... we gotta do something to keep ourselves warm up here ! ) .. I think you would make lots $$$$ with TimH. down there in Arizona...where all us "Western-canada snowbirds" flock each winter... ... :smilielol5:

... hey Mands - I grew up in this great white North (northern Alberta )...so am used to it...but the first couple weeks of really-cold each year are a bit tuff...wear lots of sweaters, turn up the heat on the furnace..then your body adjusts.... & mitts/toques- a nice fluffy down-filled coat , they are essentials up here in winter...

Friday - woo hoo.

Hi Maryann, I love that "we can do it" pic & have it as my MFP avatar at the moment. Maybe I got it from you originally. A loss is a loss sweetie & you are in this for the long haul. I know that you can do it & so do you. The longer it takes the more our chances of keeping it off. Love your positive attitude & the support you give! xoxo Cate

Great job with increasing your workouts! I'm still struggling to get back on track with that but planning to head to the gym tomorrow morning! Yes, focus on the scale going the right way (or better yet, pics and measurements!)

mmm.... Sunday mornin' .... plan is a nice day at home.

Thanks for the support & encouragement Mands, Cate, Justina and Mystic.... everytime I struggle- you manage to "pull me back up"...thanks again ladies...

Justina - I just walk on my treadmill - I am a middle-age gal - not great shape ... at my current weight- I fear that running might break the darn thing...or break me! ... lol... but even at walking- I do manage to get my heart-rate up ( I don't measure it- but feel my breathing increases).
..and do get to point of sweat near end of my session.View attachment 19835

Mystic - glad to hear U are headed back to Gym - U will be so glad U did.

weekly goals - I did pretty good yesterday on my first day of "tweaked goals"
- got in my 30mins+45mins of treadmill
- no eats after supper
- did partly-ok on NO Carbs at supper - had salad & a small- 8" personal pizza-but it was thin crust, and I didn't eat the crust edges...

..tummy felt pretty hungry in late evening- ( had a cup of tea with some milk-helped a bit)
...& the "evening hungree "paid off

Finally.... this morning back to my 236 ( pre-Vancouver weight)...so can now move-forward .... yay.

& FUn - bought a juicer with the city shopping yesterday...so today is Juice Day- fun... I get to see if you really can disguise zucchini and carrots by blending with apples and blueberries....
..am hopeful the juicer will give me a way to get more veggies into my day... high fiber/filling- while low-cal.

Hey Maryann, I only walk on the treadmill too. My body was not built for running - even when i was slim - it is pretty uncomfortable. That's why I m choosing no bouncy exercises (i wish i could do some - maybe my next life lol)
But walking is just as good! :)
YAY for the juicer - that's awesome - look forward to hearing how you get on! Maybe add some lemon or orange too! :)
