Hey Kiwi gal - thx for the visit... & good work on avoiding the chocolate! ...it is suprising what you can do once you set your mind to it ! ;)

Only +2c here today...and snow is on the way up here too Mystic......ick

...the roads are almost dry Justina...but the yards still have a lot of snow left.... here is a picture of Koko ....luvs her walks...and luvs the snow...goofy little doggie... View attachment 20446 ....wonder if spring will ever arrive this year...it just keeps 'teasing' us.....

I have been doing some pondering about my slowed loss ( plateau? ) this past couple months.... View attachment 20447
...still no significant losses.... despite the 1,200cal days..( Yes - they are Tuff to stick to Cory...I am pretty darn hungry on those days... only the veggie snaks & lots of tea help me survive them..)...

...I may have pushed calories too low??? (below my BMR ).....and now my body has gone into "starvation mode"...ie...shut down fat burning.... argh...... :svengo:

...I've decided to try the "Fat2Fit" recommendation on plateaus, ...and go back up to more generous calories for a few weeks, see if it will boot my middle-age metabolism back into gear....

.... so...I'm going to take a no-posting/no calorie counting holiday... give my body & my brain a chance to re-charge....
...will keep up my healthy choices on foods, keep the 7 fruit/vegs daily , and daily exercise....especially Koko walks ;) ......
but will be gentler with the calorie routine...and see what happens....

... wishing good choices & success to all,
be back soon ,View attachment 20448
cheers Maryann :)

The dog is adorable!!! so cute!!!
thanks for sharing!
I am in the same boat...i haven't lost weight..in a very long time..I lost 20lbs in Jan...and since then it's just been a standstill...(well 2lbs up, 3 down etc...every week)
I know I eat the right things & I do my one hour of exercise every day - but the scale is stubborn..
I think i should up the exercise...I just don't feel motivated enough!
I hope April I see some smaller numbers.

Have a great weekend!

Maryann, I think its a fab idea to give your body a break from the counting. Might be just what you need to kick start your body again.

Don't lose hope, just keep making healthy choices and keep the exercise going and the weight will drop hun.

Excellent choice MaryAnn on giving your body a break and upping the calories for awhile. I think you will see benefits! Always remember that some good healthy fats (olives, artichokes, butter) can do wonders on making me feel fuller faster and satiating hunger...eat in 3's...some protein, some carb (non processed carbs, like veggies, not bread or pasta) and some healthy fats. Not too much of any one, and I'm betting with the exercise, you'll see some difference!
Keep it up girl and give your body a chance to boost the metabolism...you might want to listen to the dishing up nutrition podcast for some additional thoughts on nutrition!

Hey Maryann,
I don't chime in on your thread, but I saw your name and thought it had been awhile since you last posted. I hope you're OK and that you're still fighting the good fight.
