Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Hey Maryann,
I'm flattered you take a chapter on my book on the weekends..I really do hope it works for you as it has for me. It's when I have the most time to take a 'liesurely exercise' to counteract some of the food 'fun times'!
I hope you get over your cold ! As you, I'm still hoping for Spring, but like you all, we got Snow yesterday...one of these days it will come, but I'm sick of this cold weather! I went running yesterday and froze again..as the people were ice skating and ice fishing on the river...looking forward to being able to run and ride my bicycle in shorts!!
I think you're doing great...just keep on making these great choices!

Sarah

Hey all ...nice lazy Sunday for me here...

Have some more course-work , marking, to do this morning, then I think me & Koko will head outside for another nice walk.... it is a bit "fresh" out Cory...but I grew up here...am used to it....and it is so nice to get outside, forecast today is -4C & sunny for afternoon ( will wear some warmer layers today)...... and my pup Koko just luv's outside walks..it is worth it just to see how much fun she has each time we go ! Sarah - yes,I am liking the "relax" food on weekends, and including some exercise to balance the food-relax.....this is a routine I can live with ;) , ice-fishing on a river sounds neat (we ice-fish on lakes here..but not on rivers... )....so fun that your running route goes by the river-side, ... I am so looking forward to spring too... can hardly wait...View attachment 20282

I do get a bit impatient sometimes with the "slowness" of my weight loss, but then I remind myself that I am 24lbs. less than last year, so my efforts are showing some results, and each pound lost, I feel better, more energy, friends and co-workers notice I've lost, so I will keep up my plan, and bit by bit, month by month, I will keeping moving forward, finding good habits I can maintain ,and getting fitter and healthier... am so glad I am on this trail... feels good to be headed in a positive direction ...

well, time to go mark some assignments, then walkies !
& I am thinking to make some nice roast chicken , brown rice , and salad for supper tonite. ( a nice healthy, balanced supper ). View attachment 20283

hope everyone has a nice Sunday ,
cheers Maryann .

I like your attitude. Down is down right? Even if it is a little slower than you might want. :]

We got some snow today. It was 50 F yesterday and I woke up this morning with 3 inches on the ground.

24lbs down from last year?? Thats fabulous:party:

Its better to lose it slow than too quick, otherwise it will just creep back and you don't want that!! I think you are doing amazing Maryann and as you say you are getting fitter and healthier.

Hey you, if you look very carefully - very very carefully you might catch a glimpse of spring on the horizon!!!

It's cool to have a relaxed weekend - :) You have been doing well - be patient - you ll get there - 24lbs is AWESOME!!

Koko is such a cute name btw :D

24 pounds loss is a great loss! Slow and steady wins the race and helps prevent loose skin/ LBM loses, and makes it more sustainable. Of course, it's very easy to want it faster (I know I sure do!) but the 'right way' isn't always the easy way!

Hey all - another new week .....

...good day so far, noon-walk done, treadmill done, ...calories-total for today will be 1,225. :) ( budget is 1,200cals... so am in budget...close enuf ! )

...played some catch-the-snowball with Koko outside....

...now time to go have a nice bowl of homemade tomatoe soup ;)View attachment 20311

I used to love tomato soup when I was a kid. When you're a kid when you're parents find out you like something that's reasonably good for you, they feed it to you all the time. So after a while I kind of OD'd on the stuff.

Maybe I'll pick up a can at the store the next time. Or possibly pick up some tomatoes and make it myself?

mmmm..... soup ..... canned or home-made... all good !

- my brother & I lived on chicken-noodle (the packaged kind) & grill-cheese lunch for many young years ( likely where my life-long luv of carbs began..)
...
I'm a lazy cook , I just toss some tomatoes in blender, skins & all , blend a little , not too much ( I like it to still have some tomatoe chunks), sprinkle of MrsDash for flavour , then simmer about 20mins., ... this batch I added some chopped roasted red-pepper(were left-over from Sunday supper)... and I often add some chopped celery, makes it more filling. :)

Good goal for 7 portions of fruit & veg!! :D WAY TO GO!!

Looks like Great choices to me Maryann! Good job!! Hope you get to get outside today for those walks...they are calling for snow here again tonight...I'm about tired of it!
You're only 5 pounds away from the 20 pound mark...keep it up girl, you are doing great!

Sarah

Success on the exercise yesterday , did all 3...! :) ... Koko is really liking being back to daily walks... it's win-win , good for her & for me ;) , I do love walking outside Justina , my noon-walk route is beside the small hospital I work at, there is a nice long walkway ... bordering a golf-course, ...it's nice & green , not much traffic, ....& I listen to either music or podcasts on my iphone while I walk.... luv it. ;) , the koko walks are either residential near home,(we have a small park nearby), or sometimes we come over to the hospital-golf course walk route... View attachment 20324

plan for today, similar to yesterday....I do seem to be getting into a nice pattern this week , I think being able to get outside for walks is really perking me up.... & thanks for the inspiration Sarah ... I like that "mini-goal" thought...push to 30lbs.down...that would be 1/3 of 90...and (almost) a good 1/3 of my journey... I like it ! here I come :) View attachment 20325

forecast is +6c & part-sun....so looks like outside will be ok today...
( sorry to hear you have more snow in your forecast Sarah ...I hear U on enuf-winter already....want green-grass and flowers ! lol....)

exercise today: 1/2hr noon walk, koko walk , 1/2hr treadmill

food: budet 1,200 cals , planned: 900 (bk, lunch, snak), then we have supper-out tonite ..... I included the snak(to get some veggie servings in) , and be less hungry for the supper out, then planning to select a supper with lean protein + 2 veg sides....that would give me 5/7 for fruit/veg servings today...gonna keep working on that goal of 7 daily ! View attachment 20326

Hope everyone has a nice healthy-choices Wednesday...

cheers,
maryann :)

Maryann, you sound super motivated! Awesome.
i like Sarah's idea of a mini goal too!!
You are getting in the fruit and veg, doing exercise, walking the walk :) -- you are on the right track!!! :hurray:

You sound like you're doing really well Maryann. Hope the weather just keeps improving for you xoxo Cate

Hey all, day going well, thanks for the support Justina & Cate.. this week does feel good... I really think it is the weather change shifting to warmer, sunny...almost "spring"...has really motivated me...

todays' exercise all done ( noon walk,1/2hr treadmill, Koko walk)..

..the +6c & sun today is really melting the snow on all the roof-tops... we have a bit of "issue" beside the south-east corner of our house, eave-trough down-spout end is FRozen solid under the snow... melt-run off from the roof is backing up, forming pretty major puddle-flood right beside the house... spent a good 1/2hour trying to chop the frozen stuff away today..but downspout still blocked... might be adding hardware store on our errands tonite, pick up a spare downspout to detour all that melt-water building up ....
...oh well, at least I got some exercise with all that chopping.... ;)

... had last of my home-made tomatoe soup batch this aftn. as my snak...it is so filling , and a 1 cup bowl-full is 2 veg servings ! ...think I might make another batch this weekend...

.... have a few nights of eating out coming up over next few days ( errands and Easter outings...).... will try & stick to mostly lean protein & veg for my choices...

...well, time to go check the "flood"....sheesh,
cheers all,
maryann

It was SOOO nice out today!!! Starting to feel like Spring! My parents have to deal with a lot of flooding by their house cause the flood drain in front of their place always clogs. It's like a lake!!
I'm lucky! I have no family around this easter so no big easter dinners and deserts!
You can do it though. You always make good choices when you eat out!
