Journey, Not A Destination

Thanks Mal.

Mom's bday was great. It rained so the party was moved inside but it was still a great time and she enjoyed it.

Yup, the Phillies are kicking butt. Tonight might be the final game of the series if all goes well. I know quite a few people going down. Some have tickets. Some do not. Unfortunately I will not be able to go down.

Nothing else exciting over the weekend besides great sports and the party. Krista and I went and looked at some furniture for the new house. We didn't buy anything... but definitely saw some nice stuff. I think we're going to go with a leather set up in the living room. I love leather. So damn comfy!

Good Morning and Happy Monday.

Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Furniture shopping is always fun... I agree with going with leather!!

:)

Unless you're sitting on it on a very warm muggy day wearing shorts :)

Sticky sticky :)

but sounds nice and sounds liek it would really fit the interior of the house...

That's what air conditioning is for.

I've always wanted a leather funiture set and it does match the house. The reclining chairs they have are amazingly comfortable... they recline, obviously, but also rock and spin.

Perfect reading 'tool.' :)

So I am probably going to the game tonight. Just wanted to throw that out there ;)

Also, have you heard of this company? ? They make some interesting flavors and they are in Paoli, PA. Near you, so I figured you might have had some dealings with them. If so, what can you tell me?

Do you have tickets? Or are you just going?

To be honest, I've never heard of that company so I can't tell you much of anything.

Well, my buddy is the Director of Marketing for Modell's... and I happen to ahem... be an employee. And well... yano. :)

Ok, I ordered some Isolate from them in different flavors, they get great reviews on taste. So I'll let you know when I get them in.

Well have a blast tonight... I'm jealous. But all is good if we bring home a title!

And yea, I'd be interested in hearing what you think about the protein. I'd have a hard time giving up my vanilla ice cream from Opitimum Nutrition though.

Hey everyone...

140, I would say yes, without knowing all the details. This is about finding something you can adhere to for the rest of your life. This is profound and also missed by most IMO, but I find most dieters build a plan that will get the weight off as long as they're consistent with it. With this plan, they throw in extreme variables that aren't always comfortable or what goes against what they know and believe to be right. The reason they do this... at least the primary one is the simple fact that they're viewing this as a short-term endeavor. Even if they believe it or not. They are.

Invariably once they reach their goals, sooner or later, they start dropping some of the extreme variables.

And with time the weight starts creeping back up and they eventually spiral b/c they've built a foundation that rests solely on the instability accompanying their extreme approach.

I have taken your advice on board Steve and added 700 callories to my intake. It scares me as it will slow down my loss, but as you said... I will need to have an intake that I can maintain...

Awe, your mom's party sounds fun. I find when the party gets moved indoors, it gets more cozy and personable. No people off in the cuts. lol

Vanilla ice cream? Is that your preferred ice cream? Interesting, simple but sweet. Just like you. Aweee

I saw my sister eating the ice cream that had chunks of candy bars in it. Crazy calories!!!

As long as you're still in a deficit, you should be fine. I'm not sure I would jump up all at once. Maybe do it over a couple of weeks. Mind you too that there are other important factors beyond calories; as in what comprises said calories.

I suppose that's a good way of looking at it. I love being outside, so it's tough to like inside over out.

:blush5:

Thanks MJB

Actually no, vanilla is not my preferred flavor of ice cream. At the moment though, vanilla ice cream is my preferred flavor of protein powder!

Favorite flavor of ice cream?

Hmm... that's tough.

I love chocolate chip cookie dough. I love rasberry. I love mint chocolate chip.

I'm not sure I could pick just one.

The shake flavor is vanilla ice cream? Oh, ok, I get it!! Doh

Really good workout tonight. First time I trained alone in quite a long while and I forgot how much I miss it. I'm able to get into a zone and ramp up the intensity much easier when I'm alone. Oh well, I don't see my training partner leaving me anytime soon... he loves workout out with me.

Looked something like:

Flat BB Bench: 215 x 10, 6, 3 RP
Arnold Press: 55 x 9, 4, 3 RP
Close Grip BB Bench: 165 x 9, 6, 4 RP
Pullups: BW x 10, 6, 4 RP
Deadlifts: 205 x 7, 155 x 12

I threw some core work in at the end.

This might look easy but it fried me... even with going easy on the deads at the end. Very easy. I feel like I'm finally packing on some size again. I haven't taken measurements or pictures in a long while and my scale's batteries are dead... so who knows. But shirts are definitely fitting a little tighter and the reflection in the mirror is changing.

Funnily enough me eating more (bulking) was the topic of conversation today at the lunch room. Everyone knows about my lifestyles in relation to fitness and they don't quite get it. I don't really care if they do or don't and we all mesh well. They go out and get their restaurant food every day and bring it back and I cook.

Just to prove that I'm not huge like my pics portray though... one of the newer girls said something like, "I don't know why you go through all of that... eating the way you do and lifting weights. It doesn't even look like your body changes."

This would probably bother most guys but I actually like hearing this sort of thing, believe it or not. I hate tight clothing and I dress accordingly. I know for a fact that I look like your average joe whenever I'm dressed, even in the gym.

But I wanted to prove to her that she's a bit off. So I emailed her a link to my photobucket album.

What a mistake that was, lol. Everyone was checking out the pics and gabbing about them all day! However, it was good b/c they now 'get it.'

hi Steve! :waving:

All this talk about ice cream is making me want some. I think I like vanilla, but with all sorts of things in it, especially Heath bars :drooling: Actually, Ben & Jerry's Everything But The...is probably my fav but it's really, really....NOT something I want to let myself eat very often, let me just put it that way! Glad you had a nice weekend.

I really don't want anyone to think I'm huge Debbie Downer or anything because I'm not.

LOL! You're far from it!! ;)

Really, thank you for saying that ;)

Just keepin' it REAL :coolgleamA:

Ipeople believe me to be the most positive person in the world.

There are times that I'm not though.

And I've come a long way from where I used to be.

You know, I got that from you. The wisdom thing. Actually, I see that in a lot of people on here. But then again, a lot have more life experience than I do! (read: years on me :D) Glad you came a long way :)

Steve!

How goes it man?

Hope everything is well, i should be around a bit more now that school is starting to calm down and the "break your waistline" time of the year is fast approaching. lol
