Journey, Not A Destination

Ha! I went furniture shopping today, too. I didn't buy anything either..lol. But unlike you, I don't like leather..lol.

This ice cream talk is just naughty. Give me Ben & Jerry's just about anything and I'm happy. :D

Nice workout Steve! You're the hotness.... :hurray:

Wish I could do BW pullups.... I'm not to that point yet... too much BW to pull :D.

Arnold Press? Sounds intense! LOL Are you talking about my Governor? hehe

Sounds like you are on your way to bulking up like you set out to do. Good for you! I also agree it is nice to see guys in normal fitting close but when they take their shirt off you are like "WHOA NELLY"...where the hell did that body come from? Your wife is a lucky lady...

As long as you're still in a deficit, you should be fine. I'm not sure I would jump up all at once. Maybe do it over a couple of weeks. Mind you too that there are other important factors beyond calories; as in what comprises said calories.

The food I am eating is all healthy and balanced well with pro/carb/fat. I am not a fussy eater and am content to eat whatever food I have chosen, and currently that is all good stuff.

My callorie deficit was rather extreme as I am trying to reach a mini-goal by new year. It has been going well, but as you pointed out, perhaps my loss will stop?

I have (nearly equally) countered the additional intake with increased cardio and weights so hopefully my body will be fooled into believing I am eating lots (if that is possible)

You know, I got that from you. The wisdom thing. Actually, I see that in a lot of people on here. But then again, a lot have more life experience than I do! (read: years on me :D) Glad you came a long way :)

I get that often, the whole, "you're wiser beyond your years."

I'm not though. I simply listen. I listen to those who truly are wise. I truly walk on the shoulders of those I consider to be giants. And I make a ton of mistakes and proactively learn from them.

Those two factors play a large role in shaping 'who I am' I believe.

Steve!

How goes it man?

Hope everything is well, i should be around a bit more now that school is starting to calm down and the "break your waistline" time of the year is fast approaching. lol

Trevor

Yo Trevor... good to hear from you and thanks for stopping by. Hopefully you'll stick around.

Too funny. I think leather either fits a home or it doesn't. In the case of the new house, I think it fits well. Or I'm just way off my rocker. I know though that I would never have bought leather for the house I'm currently living in.

What's happening man... been a while!

Yea, pullups are one of those things I've always been good at naturally. I remember back in grade school it was always a competition between me and my best friend to see who could do the most in the school. It was part of the presidential physical fitness testing or whatever they call that. I wonder if they still make kids do this?

Meh, it's nothing real intense. It's simply a version of an overhead dumbbell press is all.

Sounds like you are on your way to bulking up like you set out to do. Good for you!

Yes ma'am. :)

Mucho gracias.

Anymore, tight is in. And I can't stand it. At least around here. Most any guy, regardless of stature, wears shirts that are two sizes too small. I just don't get it. A) they look ridiculous and B) it can't be comfortable.

Well keep in mind that a deficit is a deficit no matter how you slice it. If your deficit that was too large before was comprised of just a reduction in food intake, for instance...

And then you bump up your intake b/c of something I said but also add in enough exercise to offset said increase...

Your deficit, which was the initial problem, is still exactly where it was originally.

Tight is bad on any gender - makes the boys look dumb and the girls look huge...

too loose is also bad... same reasons apply... :D

Yea, last night sucked. And it's still freaking raining here! I'm hopeful the game actually gets played tonight b/c it's supposed to rain into the evening. They say it should be a go around 9pm when the rain dies off but how wet will the field be?

My patience for a title is lacking, lol.

oh yeah and what was mother nature's problem... can't give me phillies in 5? Gotta give me phillies in 5 1/2? :D

Bud Selig is an asshole. Should have called it as soon as Rollins lost the ball on that popup in the 4th. It was so damn cold there... but I loved every minute of it.

Everyone I talked to that was there said the same exact thing. They loved it but it was miserable.

Just to update ya, i appreciate you helping me out with a routine....

I took some exercises you provided me and sort of changed them around as well as added some more compound movements, and I'm definitely seeing results. The past 4 months i have been on a slow bulk, and I'm no in the process of cutting somewhat. Although i,m not huge, it takes time and phases and i understand that, all i know is i gained some lean muscle, as well as a smalla mount of fat, and now I'm cutting back down to 160 (currently 170)

my friends are telling me I'm looking better and better each day.

My cut is around 2000 calories, focusing on high protein while limiting carbs in the afternoon after workouts. Its going good man and ill keep updating ya, i really do appreciate your help over the past year with everything.

I also added 3 days of cardio, as well as trying to get more active in soccer with my buddies, anything to help burn some calories

That's great man, sounds like you're doing real well. Slow, but consistent progress is the only way to do it long term.

One note, if you are eating more carbs at certain times of the day compared to other times... I'd suggest eating most of your carbs around your strength training, as in just before and after.

o ya, i forgot to mention that i usually time all my carbs before and after...

my workouts are usually in the mid-morning range, which usually means most of my carbs are breakfast, morning snack, and post workout, and then they taper off into the evening getting replaced by fibrous veggies. Post workout carbs should include simple ones right? Such as 1% milk or a small amount of Gatorade? I want to make sure on my cut that i focus i lifting hard, and carb timing at the same time to maximize my lifting strength. I just don't want to feel like I'm going to pass out when i squat and such, since my leg workouts are by far the toughest.
