Hi Babyegg, you're very lucky to only experience hunger very rarely...I'm one of the unlucky 10% that reaches ketosis and is still 'hungry' = ( Is anybody else the same???

I'm happy today, I've dropped 2kgs overnight (water weight put on from deviating...had the worst water retention!) Gotta luv Cohens!

Congrats Newlife for 7 days without deviation!

Hey everyone

I couldn't have come on to the forum at a better time! for those of you who have put pics up, thankyou so so much you are so inspiring and I have the fuel I need to go full throttle to GW as I have been off Cohens for a week now :0. Newlife, I can't thank you enough for your latest post, its nice to see that there are other people going through the same things as I am and that you don't have to be a saint to have success.

Sydgal and Babyegg, I get hungry too esp. between lunch and dinner, it's perfectly normal, the arvo, or 3 o'clock-itis is because your body has almost run out of fuel, when its at its peak (not too sure if this theory is correct but it sounds good)

well wish me luck everyone, tomorrow I am going to be a saint! oh and by the way I am size 12-14 now hooray!
xx Bek

Just a quick question for all >>>

are anyone here smokers???

i was a smoker before i joined cohens but i vowed to quit once i started...
its been a bit dificult as i still have the occaisional smoke (i stress easily and hate the though of turning to food!!)

has anyone seen any fluctuations to their weight because of this??

i am not weighing myself till my 4th week,8th week and 12th week (to avoid becoming addicted to the scales!!) so i dont know how much my weight has changed since my 1st week weigh in

A Quick Post

Dear all,

It's day 8 of no deviation! I'm really proud of myself because I managed to resist two super delicous delicious infront of me. My friends ordered apple crumble pie with vanilla ice cream AND chocolate pudding with raspberry ice cream and though I was tempted, I did not budge. I am super proud of that! Wow wow! I hope to keep this up!

I do get hungry when I'm nearing my dinner time. So it shdn't be any strange phenomenon. =)

I also get sugar cravings. Like I crave for something sweet. This is usually satisfied with either a diet coke or tea with more than usual sugar. The thing is i put about 1/8 of a sachet of sweetener into my tea. So when I get my cravings, I put in like 1/4? Does anyone get this sugar craving too?

I gotta go cos I need to wake up early today. Please take care all! And to those who are starting anew, pls look forward and do so! Share with us the joys of having Day 1 of no deviation!

I hope I can pull through to Day 9. I'm attending a course now, in a totally different environment so I hope I'm adaptable to changes and resistant to temptations. =)

Press on! It's all in the mind...

RE: Smoking

Hi FatCat

I'm new here but have been reading for a couple of months while I've been doing the program. I have just started refeed. YOU have finally spurred me to register and post in this forum, congratulations!

With smoking - I am a smoker, and I was entirely open to being told that I must stop smoking to have success on this program. I asked the question outright and was given this advice, which I now recommend to you:

It is fantastic that you are considering quitting. You may want to consider leaving that as your "next" health challenge, or a separate step in your overall lifestyle change. You will be faced with many major changes to your daily habits, and quitting smokes at this time may be even more difficult than any other time. Yes, it may impact on your weight loss, but the program will work regardless. If you decide to quit at the same time as starting the program, you may find the extra added challenge affects your motivation to stick to the program (many people turn to food when quitting). Ultimately, be kind to yourself - commit to quitting for life, but don't be hard on yourself if you are unable to manage this while doing the program!

I hope that helps you.

Newlife: You may want to consider adding or temporarily increasing your chromium supplementation, or add an extra multi vitamin at lunch or in the afternoon. You could try saving one of your fruit allowances or changing the type of fruit you eat. Also, I found green apple flavoured extra chewing gum is pretty good for a sweet tooth.

Hello There

How are you all going?

My golly gosh, i have been catching up on all the posts i have not seen and my-oh-my.... girls, you are all looking so FANTASTIC!

Congraturlations to all of you on your achievements. What an inspriation!!!!

I have been well. I am trying to book in my second weigh in for late next week or the week after. Not too excited. My second month has been extrememly slow? Not sure what has happened, but i think i would have only lost about 4kg this month which is less than half of what i lost last month. People are telling me that the second month is always really slow because your body is stabilising and then the thrid month, your body kicks into gear and starts to really work. Did any of your guys go through the same thing as well? Was your second month really slow too?

I really wanted to get to 85kg by Christmas to be honest. I know it is unfair to set targets like that for myself, but it also keeps me going. The lifestyle is almost unbareable. Can not go to any parties, drink, eat..... you really take simple things for granted when you are not on Cohens.. Now with Christmas around the corner..... not sure if i can handle saying no to everything. Although to date, i have not deviated at all!

Nothing esle to report except that the end of year is nearing..... and so is my sanity! Life is busy. Parites, shopping, Birthdays, BBQs....

It is my birthday next week too.... im really struggling with the fact that i can not even have a slice of my own effen cake.....

sorry about the spelling. Hope you all have a great week.

Babyegg: I experience the hunger too and I usually just eat my biscuit allowance when I feel hungry and it help. Think its normal so dun have to worry about it.

newlife: Congrats on day 8~! Ganbatte on getting pass day 9 and subsequent days, you are doing a good job~~!

Hi Everyone,

Well it is the end of day six and i was naughty today. I jumped on the scales and I promised myself I wouldn't. I have lost 2.5kg yeay!

I have been cooking everything in Sprite Zero lol - even my meat. I just can't get over how yummy everything tastes. It's like my taste buds have woken up.

I decided to take the evening primrose capsules to help with my flabby skin and i have noticed that i'm not having mood swings anymore. Double yeay!

Just a follow up on the hair loss thing - I spoke to someone who finished cohen's earlier this year and she said she experienced a lot of hair loss. Apparently the hair does grow back after you start eating normally again but the vitamins are so important in the mean time. Thank goodness i have thick hair but if it gets to thin, it's all coming off.

Cheers!

wow~

wow... hazel... i guess "wow" is the only word i can say now~ u go gal~ 6 kgs till refeed... i hope to reach that soon... i'm still 14 kgs away~

as for the hair loss thingie.. try adding vitamin bs into ur vitamin supp... i did that.. and the hair drop rate is starting to be lesser...

Hi Everyone,

Dreamer: I was naughty about the scales only (and again today - lost 3.9 now). I have not food deviated and hope to continue lol lol.

That meal sounds very yummy. I think i will try it over the weekend.

Cheers,

I have just returned from a business trip to Adelaide... and for the first time, I have lost weight on a business trip. It was only for 2 days and I lost a kilo. normally, I've either stayed stable, or put it on. So, hopefully that will continue, cause I have quite a lot of travel coming up... Brisbane, Perth... and the fun ones - Germany and Beijing, and possibly Japan. The 3 international ones will be in the first 3 months of next year, before I've finished. So, that will cause me some challenges!
But hopefully, I'll just accumulate frequent flyer points instead of kilos!

Living it - I too slowed right down in the 2nd month - just been away for 4 days and am having some trouble getting back on the band wagon. Have a really bad headache so it serves me right for deviating. Will be interested to see how the 3rd month goes

cheers!!:)

Thanks Mez that was truly awesome help :)
yeah i quit entirally and havent had a smoke since, ive always been quite good with quitting things(just not with junk food LOL!), especially when my health is at risk (i have PCOS).

I have another question to throw into the forum!!

since i am a student its now my holidays and i find myself waking up at 7am..having my cohens breakfast (natural yoghurt with fresh apple), but the as soon as im finished ill have a glass of water and head straight to bed for another 2-3 hour kip before i truly wake up!

is this normal for anyone?? is it bad for my diet??

oh help please!!!!!!!!!!!!

happy losing everyone!!

ps: i will change my ticker when ive have my 4 week weigh in >> just so you know!! :)
xx

Living it HANG IN THERE! you will get to eat birthday cake again soon! - just NOT YET!
My body has done the same thing, i lost almost 10kg in the first 4 weeks and 5.5kg in the next 4. however i am now offically a size 14, and have had to go shopping (DAMN life is hard!) for some new clothes for work to tide me over to my goal weight, and also new bra's (Doh!)
Things are still a bit weird/floppy/saggy on the fat side of things as it breaks down and my skin adjusts. I have noticed that my celulite is also running away as well which is pretty cool.
FatCat I don't think the sleep will do you any harm, if anything i would imagine it'd be doing you good, as the HGH occurs in your sleep, and thats when your body breaks down the fat. However they do recommend to eat 2 hours before sleeping for the best effect..........

We have been working hard!

Dear all,

It has been 10 days of no deviations and I'm looking forward to Day 11! I have been so busy for the past few days as I had a course to attend. The last day was a challenge because I was especially tired and I realized that I had cravings for sweet food. I wonder why... But anyway, I'm glad that I did not sucummb to it! I prayed really hard man...

Oh... on the first day of my course, I met up with my ex classmates and they were absolutely shocked at how different I have become. They couldn't recognize me and they said that I looked more radiant and vibrant. They were very impressed at how much I had lost and how much I had pesevered through. I guess the piece of action that touched me was that they made sure they were eating at places that allowed me to bring my own food to eat at the place. So I thought that gesture was sweet especially when we had not met up for a long time. Anyway, the thing was, I found myself being more accepted into their group. Maybe it's because I looked younger and more vibrant...

Another thing was I went shopping at Dorothy Perkins yesterday since there was a 20% sale. (Eversince I'm on the Cohen meal, I have been a sucker for sales!) And I realized that size 14 is too big for me! I'm now onto DP size 12! Of course, I think DP's cutting is more suited for big-built ladies but it means that I'm slowly reaching towards size 12!

For the past week, it has been tough for me because out of 5 dinners, I ate 3 outside. Did my best to eat salads with as little dressing as possible. I feel that I'm working damn hard on this program but again having a goal keeps me motivated. Anyway, I've been a naughty girl. I have been anxious about reaching to below 70 kg so I have been stepping on the scales every morning. This morning, my scales read 69.9 kg and when I weighed again, it was 70.2 kg. So which one should I take? Hee... I chose to take the lighter one... :p Anyway, this week, I lost only 600g. I hope this will get better soon. But I'm going to impose a ban on the scales for 1 week. Think this week was bad.. becoming too obsessed about my weight and for one day when I didn't lose any grams, I risked myself getting discouraged.

Anyway, just thought I should have an outlet here. I'm aiming for 14 days of no deviations and I'm going to reward myself to a movie. Till then, hopefully, I'm officially below 70 kg and I would have about 5 more kg to go!

Take care all, during the weekend! Continue to work hard1

Don't give up!

Hi All,

This morning I weight myself and I am at 73KG... I know my loss have always been a slow one.. but hey I am losing.. I am really happy.. and Xmas is coming soon... I am just in a mood to buy gifts!!!

Baby egg and those on the way to refeed, don't give up and don't think the weight loss is small or slow... Any piece of effort and any grams lost are steps nearer to your target weight. Keep going and be focussed.

I learnt that it's important to have enough sleep so that you won't deviate in the moment of feeling tired and "need a boost" at some time of the day.
