Jody - I agree you look awesome. Thanks for the insight as well. It's great advice for those of us just starting out to make sure we have REAL expectations. When I was younger & slimmer I had large thighs and i'm wondering if I will have the same basic body shape as I lose. Thanks for sharing!

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I have attached some photos of me in my bathers as proof that my thighs are less-than-perfect - even though I am still at goal weight...

Speaking from a man's point of view, I didnt notice your thighs! In my best "Borat" impersonation "Wa wa wee wa".

Hair Loss

For those expressing concern about hair loss, I found this in an old forum

"Has anyone experienced any adverse side-affects from the rapid losses? Such as hair loss, etc? I have PCOS and have very thin hair coverage now due to it so one of my biggest fears is a major shed caused by rapid weight loss which is apparently a common problem - tough choice between bald and overweight!"

That quote was from post #305 in the old closed forum.

Cheers!

Less of me i think you look fantastic.
did you do any toning exercises for your arms ? :D
my tummy and my arms are my biggest fears i dont want my arms to hang down heaps like tuck shop arms are quite large at the moment they are 41 cm

less of me... you have inspired me no end.. my start weight is only 800 grams higher than yours and my goal weight 7 kg's less than yours (well I have to lose 7kg more) so you are my AFTER photo THANK YOU.. and omg to have thighs and buns like that .. YES PLEASE!

YOU GO GIRL

Toning exercises (or lack of it!)

Thankyou all for the positive comments and kind words...it is always great to have nice things said to you..especially when you have just posted a photo of yourself in bathers on a public forum!!! :p :D

As for toning exercises...I haven't done any! My arms spin me out a bit as they were quite big before I started Cohen's and it's almost like as the fat melted away, these muscular, toned arms emerged from within! I do bellydancing (and have done for almost 3 years) and arm positions are a big part of that. Also, you can certainly feel it in your arms after doing veil work. Maybe that has something to do with it?
If you are interested in measured loss, my arms were 39.5cm on commencment of the program and are now 26cm.

Hello all,

Been busy for the past few days working and havent had time to scratch myself, let alone read the posts or answer.

LESS OF ME - Quite a lovely figure you have ended up with. Congratulations to you on your hard work and reaching your goal.;)

RJM - Thank you for your kind words last week. I appreciate the response and what you had to say. :)

I have a question for anyone who has had a simillar problem. I started in October and did NOT experience any symptoms of toxins exiting my system in any way, shape or form. No headaches, no nausea, no spots, no dizzy spells. Nothing! Nada!

However, I did have my period week 2 and it was on the light side. I generally have very heavy cycles. 4 weeks later, I get it again. A little heavier, but still relatively light. It continues for about 5 days. Then a day off and since then heavy spotting, till Sunday when I got a full on period again. Does this sound like a delayed cleanising of toxins????????? Basically, Im on to my 3 week now. I do recall reading something somewhere on here of periods being thrown in to turmoil, but wasnt quite sure what I read. If anyone could please let me know some info on it, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry to LESS FATTY - I know you cop all the girly comments and discussions, but I guess thats the drawback or benefits, depending on which way you look at it, of being the only male in this forum. LOL:p

Hope everyone is doing really well and feeling much lighter.

Cheers

Just a suggestion

Good morning everyone and welcome to another day of fat cell elimination!

I just thought I would make a quick suggestion regarding talk/comments/question about women's monthly cycles on this forum...previously when this topic came up, I recall that some users were a little (or a lot) uncomfortable with such candid discussion about this topic. As this thread is the one that nearly everyone uses, perhaps if you want to discuss women's cycles, you could start a new thread dedicated to that alone. That way, those who don't want to know or hear about can avoid it and those who want to join in the discussion can! Everyone wins and no-one is offended! :D :D :D

By the way, I myself am not offended at all by the discussion...but I do understand why some people are uncomfortable with it.

My Bad!!!

LESS OF ME - My appologies. Didnt realise it was going to be an issue to readers. Wont happen again.

Hope everyones day is lighter.

Cheers

WILDSKYZ I can't help I'[m sorry, but perhaps a trip to the GP might be in order.

Well I'm down today... I didn't lose any centimetres at all this week :(

Is it normal to have weeks where you don't shrink?

Very down today as I really felt like I'd lost a lot of weight this week :(

wow

Less of me (Jody) - All I can say is WOW i told YOU that you were my inspiration and look at you girl. You give me hope and strength to keep going. And your legs are fine but walking on that beach of your will keep trimming them down. I was told that the body still changes 12 months after you have finished the program. I am sooooooo proud of you and thanks for sticking around to share your experience and answer our questions now that you are finished.

Brieziel- yes i still have my leg in a cast (well a boot anyway) but nothing will stop me now as i'm so bored at home.

Pinksultana - thanks for the tips on surviving the christmas festive season.

Dreamer - about the hair loss, i am having a major hair thing at the moment and the doctor said it was due to the program i'm on and the trauma that i have been through but he did assure me that it will even out and get back to normal eventually. He simply said it was nothing to worry about and as Bright Yellow stated I do shed in summer more than winter I think that our bodies are just more intune with what it is suppose to do naturally.

Now for me - my ankle is healing well and i have started to walk with my boot on around the house for a week now. I drove (automatic) yesterday for the 1st in a month and it felt really strange. I need to move the seat and all the mirrors. I noticed that there was lot more space between me and the steering wheel. My confidence is coming back and i'm eager to back on my treadmill but i know do it slowly (patience is not one of my strong points). My weightloss is still great but i am concerned that my measurements have not changed in 4 weeks. I also cleared out my wardrobe which gave me a great feeling but also a weird sensation as i cleared it out in January of all the smaller sizes that i didn't fit into.

I hope everyone has a great day - enjoy that warm weather if your are in melbourne. Don't forget those of you in melbourne that we are meeting at Gloria Jeans Doncaster shopping town 10:30am on Monday it would be great to see you all there.

Cheers Jewls:)

What about a separate thread for such issues? It does seem a common reoccuring concern and for those who want to discuss it I think it is important.

eg " Issues with the Female Monthy Cycle"

For those with concerns they can read the details for those who dont, well like me I can stay away from it?

WOW it's quiet in here today :(

What measures do you put in place when you're feeling down and fighting with every breath in your body not to give in to your mental desire for a nasty food?

I've brushed my teeth, eaten an apple, drunk gallons of water..... tried to go to bed, repeating constantly... I stick to Cohen's program easily and I lose weight quickly over and over and over and over again..... not sure how well it's working.

thanks Dreamer... nah havne't given in, but seriously felt like it earlier... emotional eating trying to creep in errrrrrk.

But I'll be up half the night peeing after the litres of water I drank lol

I choose life - i know how you feel right now casue i to am going though the emotional eating thing too, not that i have deviated either. Yesterday i drank so much water i felt water logged. What do people suggest to get past these type of days. I was able to handle them before the BA but now they are really strong.

Also how do people handle their friends etc saying you don't or should lose anymore weight. I have lost 36kgs people say i look great but not to lose anymore and are really stunned if i tell them i'm only half way though.

Today really sucks i missed out on another teaching job, I can't seem to get a break. Sorry everyone just really down today.

Hi Girls and LF,

How are you all? I wish I had a magic wand to wave to make those of you struggling feel better. But unfortunately there is no such thing. I also have my days where I just feel terrible and don't see the point in finishing. I am very much an emotional eater. When I am feeling positive I try to remember what it is I am thinking/feeling that helps me stay on track. I have most definitely deviated when the emotions have taken over - but we all know that that is NOT the correct action to take. And the negative feelings deviating brings with it just breeds more negativity and jeopardises our whole plan. I wish I knew why I wanted to be so destructive - perhaps there is something to gain from it? Sympathy? Who knows? So my advice for when you are facing a severe battle with temptation is to be really kind to yourself. You have done a truly wonderful job so far - don't sell yourself short and undo all of that work.

I was really struggling Sunday night. Made the whole family a lovely pasta dish (I find pasta is my vice!) and was literally close to tears as they all sat down to eat. So, instead of even having a taste I put my walking shoes on and hit the pavement. As I walked, I swore, I cried, I breathed in and out very very deeply! I wanted to scream but thought it best not to have the police called! It was not magic and I wont lie and say that the feelings completely disappeared, but they were a hell of a lot less powerful. And it did pay off for me as the most powerful feeling of all was PRIDE! I was so pleased with myself for not giving in. It took a lot of will power and inner strength and I DID IT! So, that was one less stuff up I made and one step closer to goal weight. Only you have the answers with in you - it's not easy but try to dig deep and find them and when you do, or even if you don't, be good to yourself! You are only human after all.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Question on how to deal with Sinus infection

Hi everyone,
Firstly, Jody What a girl!-Less of Me You look fantastic and thanks for bringing us back down to reality because alot of us haven't been small in such a long time that our expectations are so out of line that we are so disappointed when we actually get down to our goal size. You look great! Thanks for supporting us all as this is a long journey and will be one for life for us.

Jewls - I just love your little cat with the funky sunglasses on ... that is so cute.. Sorry you are struggling now but soon you will be out of the cast and you can put that chapter behind you! Keep up the good work!

I have a question, I am suffering with a severe sinus infection and I had to get a prescription filled this morning of augmentin-forte for it. Besides having to take the medication this infection has made me feel just miserable and sick. I am increasing my water intake up a couple of litres and still on my strict Cohens diet but how did you/anyone handle being sick with a cold? I did so well last month with the diet that I don't want to deviate any for fear that I'll have to restart the diet all over again.

What is the correct juice amount from one lemon so that I can use that in water to help out with vitamin C? I used two teaspoons last night in water to flavor it. Am I close enough to consider that one fruit as I have three fruits a day in my diet that I am allowed.

Gosh everyone is doing so well, keep up all the hard work girls and LF...just a fantastic diet to work with and just one that I never dreamed would be this easy to follow and lose weight....

Cheers,
til next time, Jo@Bribie Island

Jewls:(

Just like it takes us a while to get used to being "skinny".. I think it takes a while for those around us to adjust. My kids didn't want me to lose weight cause they thought I'd become more strict!! My mum says I look gaunt.

But once I've lost weight and kept it off for a while they'll get used to how I look and adjust to it over time.

I also think on Cohen's that your body shape changes, and I think I look smaller than my 88kg. So, people seem to think you are smaller than you are.

Don't worry, just press on. When people ask me when I'm finishing, I say when I've lost all the weight. They'll get used to it in time!
