Length Of Cohens Contract????

Hi everyone! love reading all your posts!
Question to all: how long is our contract with Cohens valid for? is it the same in all states? Im in Sydney and emailed my consultant last week wanting to know how long my contract is with them (cause I've been deviating of late and was sick with flu) and I was told 6 months.
My girlfriend in Tasmania on Cohens was told 1 year!
So basically I have to loose all my weight in the next 4 months or I won't receive my re-feeding programme.
Does this sound right to everyone???

It used to be one year, but people were deviating too much and stringing it out so they changed it to six months, HOWEVER, it's entirely up to the individual clinic, and I know my consultant told me that although it's six months, if it takes a little more than that to lose all my weight they will continue to support me through to the refeeding stage... probably because I had so much to lose.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the concern. Am feeling much better today and would sure give my consultant a call tomorrow.

Ladybird: I think they have a method of calculating how long is ur contract based on the amount of weight you have to lose plus an additional 3 months as buffer. So the lesser you have to lose the shorter your contract is. (This is what my consultant told me but I am on the Singapore program so not sure whether does it apply in Australia.)

Hi,
Like Momiji says, it is based on how much weight you have to lose, up to a maximum of 1 year. Mine is for one year, I have a friends who's is for 4 months. They base it on losing one kilo a week, plus a small buffer I think.

Thanks for your replies! I suppose that makes sense on how much you've got to loose. Just wanted to make sure I heard it right.
Well then it's just up to me to get real, stick to it and loose it!

Thanks!!

Everyone's doing well!!! Good to hear.

Oh, and, whomever it was that was cooking with Mango, don't forget, Mango is a weighed item. A whole mango doesn't count as 1 fruit. (not saying you aren't weighing it, just a reminder).

asy :D

Length of Contract

In the US ...the contract is for 12 weeks. It is emailed to you and you have 48 hours to download and you have 12 weeks from then. Period..no exceptions...the end. The contract states 12 weeks with no extensions, etc. You can renew for a slightly less price if you have to continue till you meet your goal weigh for an additional 12 weeks.

It makes you motive and stay with it and on track if you don't want to pay for a renewal. I already know I will have to do a renewal because I have way over 100 lbs to lose. But, I figured - what the heck - if I am losing and it working - who cares. It will be money well spent.

cost

So, how much does your plan cost? Does it differ if you have more weigh and hence more time on the plan?

US cost $229. for the 12 weeks plus the lab - blood work.

hi dreamer... i'm experiencing that hair problem now... i been losing quite a lot of hair and it's quite bad... anione has aniway to solve it?

Hey everyone

Has anyone experienced hair loss or hair thinning whilst being on the program?
If so, does it go away after you finish? Does anyone know why it happens?

Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm putting on my best puppy dog done bad eyes... I deviated big time. I wasn't even going to admit it - but I'm admitting this more for myself than anything.
I had a great time, but am accepting that I will have to go through the sugar headache and crap feeling for a week as a result.
It's my first deviation in 2 weeks. I'm not going to dwell - I'm going to however get my butt on my stepper for 15 minutes every night for a week to make up for Friday night however!

asy: so sorry to hear about the crap going on with you. Goodluck with the case - hope it all works out for the best.

living it: I find I do the same thing - a bit time poor... so just grill and or stream and chow down. If you find you are short on time, you can alway marinate your meat and veg in the morning, so if you only have time to chuck it in a pan and eat - at least it tastes nice and is a bit different. And I so agree with the getting it over and done. The sooner the better!!!

pinksultana:Thanks for the post "How to survive..." I really appreciate it! I don't have the clinic support option no more as my contract has expired and I don't have the money to get another.
I can easily avoid drinking alcohol, that's no problem. But Christmas day lunch and dinner with the various families... jeepers that's going to be hard. As I'm not on a limited time frame with my contract, I'm going to make Christmas Day (only the 1 day) my next day of deviation. It only comes once a year, and I'm going to enjoy it in some moderation. If it adds another week, so be it, I'll get my butt back on the stepper and sweat that Turkey and puddin' off! hehehe

Roll on December 6! Oh Oh!! I have a shirt that I wear over the top of things - it hasn't done up since I made it to 99kg last time round. I gave it a test do up the other day and IT BUTTONED UP!!!! That shirt wouldn't even come close over my bust about 4 weeks ago! YAY!

Done: Day 1 Monday (started 2nd time around 6 Nov 06)
Done: No deviations for 1 week

Goal 3: Drop 10kg stat.
Goal 4: Be under 100kg by Christmas!
Goal 5: Weigh myself December 6!
Goal 6: NO deviations for 2 weeks!

Girls I'd be getting to the docs about your hair loss, could be a lack of a certain vitamin or mineral in your system.. I think hair is chronium but dont' quote me on it.. perhaps it's copper lol either way I'd be straight off to the docs for full bloods and a good check up.

I'm feeling so positive about my weightloss and can feel the fat literally melting away.

Everyday, at every opp, I chant to myself "I stick to Cohen's easily and lose weight quickly". It's a mental trick I use and it's working..... be strong all and shrink away :)

hair loss

I'm finding the opposite actually.. I"m growing my hair while I'm on the program and its getting very thick and luscious! My hair is very fine and I'm prone to hair loss related to vitamins etc. But no such problem this time.
I'm taking multivitamin, multiminerals, zinc, evening primrose oil and st johns wort. So, I don't know if they make any difference. and I eat quite a bit of red meat on my plan.

Re hair loss

Don't forget that summer is coming on and that's when those with longer hair start to notice the shedding. I always lose heaps of hair in summer regardless of my weight. I have not yet started my Cohen's (still waiting) and i'm noticing a lot of hair loss. Hope that helps!

Just curious, is tummy fat harder to shift than the rest of your fat? I've been following the program for 3 weeks now (No deviations...which im very proud of:p ) but havent lost a cm off my waist/tummy region. Im losing everywhere else tho... Any advice?

I think it depends on each person and where you tend to gain fat. I always find I lose weight from the top down.. so my face gets thin first, followed by bust, waist and then hips go the very last. and it tends to go in cycles, so over 2 months or so, and then starts again from the top!

It has been my experience that "first on" "last off", where you put weight on first this is the last place you will lose it.

For me around my waist and "boobs" (I am a guy) seem to be last places to lose weight, but now that I have lost 28KG and on my last 5-10KG to lose these "problem" areas now are dropping quickly.

Less Fatty - You are funny with your description of where you lose weight.
Since I started Cohens I have lost the most in my "boobs" and stomach, each person is different.

I have gotten thru my first month and had my 2nd blood test last friday and I see my Cohen's person tomorrow morning for my weigh in and checkup. I am excited because I can feel the weight loss in all my clothes and I should be moving down in clothes sizes here soon.

Everyone is doing such a good job Keep up the good work all!

Til next time,
Cap@Bribie

Areas of loss

Hi everyone!
Yes...I'm still hanging around here even though I have sucessfully finished my program (I just can't seem to stay away - this is such a great forum!) . Just thought I would add some info about areas of loss on the body for those of you who are curious about it...
I myself seemed to have initial losses off my face, hips and thighs. My belly was never 'out there', but I tended to loose weight off my belly towards the end of my program. Losses off my chest and arms also occured towards the end of my program. I seemed to loose weight off my bottom pretty consitantly throughout the duration of the program.
A word of warning (and please do not take this as discouragement or as disatisfaction with the program on my part): Please don't expect to end up with the 'perfect' body after completing your program...you will end up with 'your perfect body', but don't be waiting for your body to all of a sudden turn into the body of a super model!
Even though I have lost almost half my body weight, I still would not describe my body shape as 'perfect' or 'model-like'. It is my body shape and I am loving it, but I still carry what I would describe as excess padding on my thighs. I have always had large thighs (ok - I'll be honest - HUMUNGOUS thighs!) and started the program with an expectation that I would end up with 'skinny' or 'perfect' legs (albeit with a bit of added cellulite and a definite need for toning). However this is certainly not the case. I have reached the conclusion (and accepted the fact) that I was supposed to have larger thighs...and that's truely ok with me :D ! If I was really keen  , I could probably decrease the size of my thighs through exercise (brisk walking, cycling, water areobics), but I'll be honest - the thing I liked most about this program was the non-requirement of exercise  ! Having said that, like lessfatty, these days I enjoy more and more 'everyday activities' (like walking my dog, going to the park and beach with my daughter, etc) which don't officially classify as hard-core exercise, but are still 'active' pastimes and which no-doubt contribute to one's overall health.
Towards the end of my program (about 5-10 kg to go), I was getting lots of comments from people telling me I had to stop losing weight because I was getting to thin...I kept indicating my thighs and saying that this is where the last 10kg is coming off from...I think what was happening is that I was continuing to loose weight off the top of me and the excess weight on my thighs wasn't going anywhere! So people were looking at my clavicles (colar bones) sticking out (which they are!) and thinking that I was becoming anorexic.
Anyway, the moral of this long post (my apologies to all) is that when you reach the end of the road you are on, you will end up with the body that is perfect for you...not the body of a super model (or even a regular model for that matter). We are all unique shapes and sizes...hopefully this program will get you to a place where you feel comfortable and confident and you can look at yourself and say "I love my body" and just be happy that you are you!

Less than perfect thighs...

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I have attached some photos of me in my bathers as proof that my thighs are less-than-perfect - even though I am still at goal weight...

Jody - You are amazing! I can't wait to have thighs and bottom just like yours!!!
Well done - and that took some guts to post no doubt! But, you can certainly walk proud in your new skin. You look fantastic.

I am struggling with these last 8 kilos....I too am getting all the comments about being too thin (I think it is all relative - people are used to seeing me over weight so it is a matter of them adjusting to the new me) I have lost the weight from my arms and chest as well. But I still have a significant tummy. So I will keep going of course but I am feeling as though it is all up hill at the moment. Plod, plod, plodding along!

Great to hear everyone else is going Ok. We're in this together....keep going!

Asy - Hope you're Ok. Thinking of you.

Hoo Roo.
