Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
I'm having my first blood test tomorrow so it shouldn't be too long before I get my program and can finally make a start. I'm SOOOOOOOO excited!

Lonniecee: I’d love to catch up in the chat room or any chat room for that matter. My schedule is pretty flexible so if I know what time you’re on, I’ll make sure I’m here.

Missys-mum: I have around 50kgs to lose and I am also very concerned about excess skin, especially around the belly. Please let me know if you find out more.

Cheers!

MISSYS MUM I have 60 kg in total to lose, down to about 50kg to lose now YAY I had a hernia repaired last year and asked them to do an apronectomy at the same time, so my lower belly is nice and flat... unlike the pregnant looking top half lol

I think as we shrink part ofCohen's helps trigger growth hormone which helps with elasticity in the skin. If concerned perhaps go to a naturopath who can recommend some good vits that will help with that sort of thing.

The only thing I"m worried about is the skin on my humungous arms. IF I find skin is hangy and lose, I will have surgery to remove the excess skin. I have no qualms about doing that. Life is for living ......

Good luck Bright Yellow on the blood test and starting out... check out my online diary here ... I found the mental battle at the start the hardest, so hope you can benefit from my experience xxoo

Dreamer Don't worry about the bathers thing - most people that do dwr are in the same boat. They are carrying too much weight to do any heavy exercise. You get the odd skinny but they are the odd ball. Wont be long and we'll be classified as a skinny YAY!! Try it once and listen to your body if you get hungry wait another month and try it again. It cant hurt.

Everyone is having such great losses. Mine has slowed b a little but I think that I read in previous posts that some people have slowed in the 2nd month but the cm's are still coming down which is the main thing.

cheers to all and have a great weekend :)

Good morning ladies,

RJM - I fell for you but when i go for coffee i will have you in my thoughts. Come on people in sydney get on this program and meet some fabulous people for a cuppa.

Missy-mum & Bright Yellow - I to have worried about lose skin but i met a jude from the old forum, she had lost 62kg and i asked about lose skin. She said she didn't have any. Apparently it can take even upto a year after you have finished the program for your skin to go back to normal but apparently it does. I have 62kgs to lose and i'm just over half way so i will let you know.

OK all the ladies in Melbourne we are going for coffee so please come and meet some really nice people doing the same thing as you
Doncaster shopping town
Gloria Jeans 10:30am
Monday 27th November

I would be great to see a big group of us there. Coffee and a little shopping what else could you ask for

Cheers Jewls:)

Are you shopping with a cast on still Jewls, or has it come off? Fingers crossed!!!
I'm Jealous! i'd love to be Shopping and Coffeeing with the girls but i gotta work grrrrrr seems i never stop (except to post during work hours he he he!)

I had my blood test today and thankfully, the nurse is very experienced at finding veins and I hardly felt it. I should have my program by about Thursday next week! I’m looking forward to Gloria Jeans on 27th November (provided I have not started work by then) and I hope they have green tea.

I’ve decided that I will keep a weekly weigh in record complete with front & side photo (in a bikini aaaargh!) to keep me on track. Am I being too over the top? I haven’t worn a bikini in 25 years but I figure I want to see the whole truth. I’m also hoping the results will shock me enough to stay in line.

I am really interested to hear any “I wish I would have…” comments from anyone who’s been on the program for a while. Is there anything you would have done differently if you had a chance to go back?

After two days of relative energy today I was so tired I had a 2 hour nanna nap and feel like crud. Off to the doctors for me on Monday to see why I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired all the time.

Tried the Cohen's Pizza yesterday for the first time... OMG YUMMMMMMMM highly recommended.

Have a good weekend all xxoo

Saggy skin..

I too was worried. I have seen pictures of people with rapid loss with saggy skin!! Yuk!! But I have to say mine isn't that bad. It tends to sag, then firm. Someone has even commented to me about my arms! that they don't look saggy! It was the best comment. I think it will take a bit of time for my skin to tighten - but cohen's seems to be quiet healthy for the skin. I have had 4 kids, and was never this size, so theres lots of "damage control".:p

My days of weighing in whenever I want are now over... cause unless I lost 12kg over night my scales are dead :( I won't be replacing them, as I've started to become obsessed with weighin in every morning, which hasn't been a bad thing cause every day it's slightly less so that's a good thing.

Just wondering, for those who eat Egg's most mornings, what brand do you use - and do you think it makes much difference in the nutritional value etc?

Have a great weekend all :)

No More Extra and.....

I am so excited!! After some deviations due to wedding dinner and my company's DND and also me eating too much biscuits... I have not been losing much... I have decided that its time to make sure my weight move down.... I stop taking extra biscuits and when I weigh myself this mornng, I am not at 74.2KG!!! :p I am so excited becos my ticker is finally moving!!! I am going to work towards my goal of getting to 68kg by xmas!!! :D

Mini Goal:68KG by 25th Dec

So I went to a "How to survive the silly season" talk at my cohens clinic last night and thought id share some insights that I learned with you all. So basically the talk was about minimising stress about eating, and deviations at christmas and if you do deviate or know your going to deviate, ways to minimise the damage ect.

So obviosuly the best choice is not to deviate but they said if one must have a glass of wine, have a bit of protein around 30 mins before it, this will help keep insulin levels down after having the alcohol.

The other thing that was said was to keep to cohens type food, but dont worry about measuring it neccesarily.....and IF you go somewhere and there is noooo cohens friendly type foods....stick to the one protein per meal plan, and choose vegies such as brocooli, carrots, leek, eggplant and ochre and fruits such as bluberries, pineapple and rockmelon....

and REALLY try to avoid: potatoes, pumpkin, beans, peas, corn, watermelon, strawberries, grapes or passionfruit

The other thing they said was, IF you do deviate.....it takes 3 - 5 days for the HGH and insulin and balance to come back after following the program 100% again, and so everything from obviosu cravings and yukky feelings that we all went thought when we fist started the program may be experienced again....as well as the old "i deveiated yesterday so it wont hurt to deviate again' syndrome, and the cravings where you sort of stick something in your mouth without even neccessarily thinking bout it and then going "oh my gosh i cant beleive i did that".....soooooooo in the next few days at first sign of craving have some fruit from your allowance as this will even you out....

so thats the update

Rolling with the Puches

Hellow Everyone!

Hope you are all having a delicious weekend. Welcome to the newbies and best of luck.

I have been so busy lately that i have not been able to read or post:( However, i am pelased to announce that i have been keeping to the program and not been hard on myself when the weight does not drop.

I have high hopes for myself though and i hope that i get to my target weight that i have set for myself by Christmas. I think that i can definately do it.

Nothing exciting to report... i am starting to get a little bored with the routine of food.... but surprisingly, i am not that hungry anymore. Funny it took me alot longer to stabilise than most people. I love all the receipes you guys have posted, but i find that my time is so limited that i only have time to grill my food and eat it, hence the boredom. I do all the preps before hand of weighing everything, but i just don't have time to get creative with the meals. Wish i had a chef.

I had my bloodtest some time ago and did not hear back from my clinic about the results. I know from you guys that they contact you to tell you how you went. Or have i got it wrong?

Anyway, happy Sunday everyone and i can not tell you how much i am looking forwrd for this experience to be over with. Wwhilst i am trying to enjoy the process of burning the fat that i put on, i can not wait to fit into normal clothes and do fun things.

Hi everyone,
I had the worst day ever since the start of the diet. Experience a black-out while cooking my lunch. The whole morning I was feeling ok and went for a short nap before taking my lunch. Start cooking after I woke up and suddenly I feel giddy and black out. My whole body suddenly feel very weak and I had to sit down to rest. Following the black out was a massive tummy ache which feel like diarrhea so I went to the toilet but nothing came out, all the while the giddiness is still following me.
I thought it might be low blood sugar so I quickly took a fruit and my biscuit allowance before eating my lunch. Felt better after that and the tummy ache subsided.
Had something similar happened to anyone? Its a weekend so I couldn't call my clinic for advice but am going to call them on monday just to find out wats going on.

Momiji poor you, I had a similar experience a few weeks back, (didn't have any pain) managed to lie down before I passed out tho'. It was in the morning whilst getting my breakfast, my hubby said I was very pale. I'm not sure if it was the programme or not, I went to the Dr and when he checked my ears I had fluid in them, no temp or anything so can't say for sure whether that was the cause or not. For the next few mornings i felt a little light-headed but not like the first time. I'd certainly check with your clinic and maybe a check up at the Drs.

My blood pressure has dropped since being on the program, and I already have low blood pressure so that has caused some of my dizziness. I have a Dr's apppointment in the week to see waht the problem might be.

Living It - some of the recipes are so quick and easy it's amazing, especially if you're precutting up vegies and weighing meat etc. I'm the world's worst and laziest cook and even I am enjoying Cohens.

My favourite of all meals is Pizza! 2 Salada crackers (4 squares), a squidge of bbq sauce scrimped on the cracker (non cohen's but I don't have low fat mayo), cut up finely onion, capsicum, tomato, put the mozarella cheese on top. Pop in microwave about 30 seconds. Eat. Yum.

Or mango curry chicken or beef: Take your cut up vegies, throw them in the fry pan with your meat. Mash up a mango and throw it in the pan too. Add curry and herbs to taste. Cook, eat. takes about 5 minutes if that.

Have a great Sunday all :)

Mango curry chicken & "rice"

Or mango curry chicken or beef: Take your cut up vegies, throw them in the fry pan with your meat. Mash up a mango and throw it in the pan too. Add curry and herbs to taste. Cook, eat. takes about 5 minutes if that.

I had mango curry chicken last night also, but made it slightly differently. Instead of mashing a whole mango, I pureed 1/2 a mango with 1/3 cup water. It made an awesome sauce. I figure I could probably do the same with tomato to make a tomato-ish curry. Meant I had 1/2 a mango left to have later for dessert too!

I also made "rice" by breaking cauliflower up into those teeny-tiny florets that it breaks down to (rice size pieces) and lightly steaming it. It was probably my nicest meal yet, and one that I'll cook for hubby too next time we have enough chicken :D

That's a fantastic idea with the 'rice'.... I'm not in to cauliflower but I guess with all the mango and curry you'd barely taste it, just the texture... thanks for that :)

You can mash cauli up like mashed potato as well - goes really well with minced meat dishes. And you're right - there isn't a lot of cauliflower taste to it when it's in such small pieces.

Hi everyone,

Looks like you all are doing great. Ichooselife and Lonniecee you both are doing extremely well with your weightloss. Keep up the great work.

Momiji - maybe you have contracted a tummy virus. Lots of people around at home and work seem to have this 24-48 hour bug. Not very nice but I hope you are now ok.

I have been straying a little, thinking a taste of this and a taste of that won't hurt. I can prove it does make a difference to the weightloss. I came across an interesting article on protein diets. When your body is in fat burning mode, any little bit of deviation actually puts your body out of fat burning mode and takes 3 to 4 days to get burning efficiently again. So any deviation is a no-no. A Cohen's consultant told me if you don't drink enough water is considered a deviation as well. We have to keep up with the water.

Anyway hope you all have a good Sunday.
