Question about stomach

Hi... the funny thing is the rest of my body is not fat just my stomach...
But ive got a bit of a gut... and it needs toning i guess..

Anyway i was wondering as a technique for toning my stomach,if i were to keep my stomach tense all day as a toning routine do you think that would have any effect (work).

Also i saw this advert for a device that straps round your stomach and beeps if you stop tenseing your stomach... so do you rhink this techniwue works?

Thanks:)

No, that won't work. It might make your stomach a little stronger but it won't give you the results you're looking for. Maybe it's just me but I would never be breathing right if I kept my stomach tense all day.

You need to improve your diet first. 99% of the time that's the culprit. What do you eat normally?

I eat a lot of rice.. and i mean a lot:eek:
I eat a rice based dish at least 4 times a week... do you think thats my name problem..
Thanks:eek:

I will let someone else talk about all that rice being bad.

What I can tell you is that you not only have to adjust your diet but you also have to do cardio. I've done research on the topic of abdominal fat. These fat cells are reactive specifically to exercise not just diet!!!

There are many morbidities associated with central obesity so try to adjust your diet and increase cardio if you can!!

if u are a female and your tummy is more than 35 inches u will be categorised as obesed..and actually put your heart in trouble
u should start a low carb diet..it helps tucking the tummy in..and Rice make u bloat and retain water..try to cut them down or replace them to brown rice but still moderation is the key.

Eating too much rice could be part of your problem. I wouldn't recommend a LOW carb diet but limit your carbs a bit more maybe. I'm assuming that you eat dishes with tons of rice on the plate covered in some sauce or something so that is a LOT of rice.

What else do you eat though? Do you drink water?

I hope you mean "not white rice"
Anyways, the easy way is to buy one of any number of ab workout videos from any thrift store. For some reason even the worst workout divas come out with descent ab routines. Also even with all your weight being in your gut you should still do some cardio. I don't know how much you are trying to lose or how desperate you are but generally 20 minutes three times a week will have a profound effect.
What is your exercise experience right now? What do you do? What Have you done? And what do you think you CAN do?

Eh, I don't know about some of the above posts. The first thing you need to do is post some information. What is a day of eating look like for you? Post the food, the time of day you eat, etc. What does a week of your workout routine look like? If any. Post how many sets/reps, exercises, cardio intensity, etc. What's your age, height, weight, body fat %, gender, etc?

I would not do a low carb diet. You may need to cut back on carbs, but we don't know because you have not provided us with any info. If the only place you are holding fat is your stomach then you could have subcutaneous fat there. And yes that leads to some diseases and illnesses. So what can you do to get rid of it? Follow these 5 tips to fat loss to get started... and post more info...

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.

2) Drink lots of water :)

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 24-48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.
