Hi there Tanya and Hotmama, I am too originally from Wollongong (Albion Park) I moved to the Gold Coast in September 2005. I sure miss some of the old stomping grounds. Nothing like knowing where everything is!

Good luck girls on this weight loss journey. Success will be yours.:)

Hi Dreamer

It does say on my plan cheese maximum once a day.
FETA max once a week..........and then goes on to say TRY and limit cheese to three times a week.

Cheese

Hi Dreamer, Do you go to the clinic in Booragoon? :confused:That is where I go and the cheese thing is definately in my program. You will find it in section 3.1 Protein in the Protein Chart where it lists the groups of proteins you can have together . the first column of the chart is titled Food Category the 2nd column is titled Allowed Foods and the 3rd is titled Notes/Directions, You will find it under the Notes cloumn in the cheese section.

Or are you going off an old plan? Are you not on a new program with the blood work?

By the way I still have brussel sprouts on my plan too and my consultant didn't say anything at any time that I have to stop having them.

Recipes for Windy Blue

Hi Windy blue,

this is what I do for my breakfast.

I get morazella cheese (light) and some vegetables consisting of mushrooms, green pepper, and celery or even onions. For mushrooms, get white button or portabello.

I will marinate the veges with some herbs such as basil, dill weed, black pepper and then sprinkle the cheese on top. And I go bake it in the oven till the cheese is melted and slightly brown. And I go tuck into this delicious dish!

2nd dish (for lunch or dinner):

Sauteed mushrooms (portabello or white mushrooms)

Chop some garlic.

Pour little bit of olive oil and fry your garlic. Put in your mushrooms and while your mushrooms are going to get cooked, sprinkle your herbs and black pepper.

In addition, you could cook your chicken with the mushrooms too! But cook your chicken first before the mushrooms.

These are my 2 favourite dishes so far... when there are more, I will share with you.

You could get asparagus with your egg? I usually fry my egg with onions and mushrooms. It tastes good too!

Give yogurt another try. The next recipe I tried was getting marigold non-fat no sguar plain yogurt. Don't get the nestle brand... it's horrid. The next best to marigold is brownes which I feel tastes the best but it's more expensive.

You could cut mango and blend it together with your yogurt. Put some sweetener to make it sweeter. Would suggest getting the aust mango. When you do so, you will have mango milkshake and it tastes so good!

Try making your stomach accustomed to eating yogurt. When I first ate it, I vomitted a few times because I was not used to it but now, I lurve eating yogurt. =)

I'm going off my old program which is about 2 years old -

Was considering calling Booragoon to see what options I have, but I'm guessing they won't want to know me unless I part with some cash
QUOTE]

Hi Dreamer

I am sure if your motor car needed new tyres or brakes you would come up with the cash.

Why are you going to do something as important as this program using information which was designed for a different person - you, two years ago.

Regarding contacting Booragoon, frankly I think you do Rosemary a disservice to say that. You make them sound like greedy, graspy people when all they are doing is earning what is probably a rather meagre living managing quite complex situations.

After all, a once off fee of $680, part of which would be paid over to Dr Cohen for his work, and the rest has to pay the rent, the phones, the admin, the tax etc etc and the consultant is there to provide expert knowledge and support for six or nine months - would you do all that for 25cents per hour?

So before you start back on an old program, ask yourself how come you lost 34 kilos before and have put it all back on? As you can see, the program is evolving - the brussels sprouts, for example, are a recent modification - and so have you.

I would be very concerned if, in two years, I had put back on the 25 kilos I so assiduously shed. I would very seriously suggest you make an appointment and go and see Rosemary to discuss this and also your GP.

If you put the weight back on because you just stopped the program without doing the refeed, and now you are saying you will 'borrow' someone else's refeed - then really, dreamer, why are you bothering?

You may as well save your efforts and just stay as your are, 'cos you'll just be just as obese again in two years anyway!

You know, you get what you pay for. We have all paid for our programs, and it rather prickles me that you - or anyone else, for that matter - can 'save' yourself some money and just use our information and pick our brains for free. We had to go and earn the money to pay for this and as a result we take the program seriously and have got maximum benefit from it. Perhaps you didn't value it, didn't value yourself two years ago and maybe you don't value yourself any more now?? And also, you don't value us because you think we are 'free', too, and that you can 'bludge' off us.

Remember, I don't know you, I will probably never meet you, so as a stranger I can be your best friend and say a few plain truths here tonight.

Think about it. Be honest and honourable and pay your own way. If you don't value yourself, no one else will.

Cheers

Kristine

I have to agree with Chelsea, Dreamer ...... you kind of bash the diet and the consultants but want to go back on it. How come you have put all the weight back on?

As I understand it the program is developed on an individual basis designed specifically for you based on the results of your blood work, the rational as to why some people can eat certain foods and others can't is between each person and their consultant, I for one am strictly following the programme and if I have doubts will take the advice of my consultant and no one else, I love the forum however do not depend on any advice around the type of food I can and can't eat, we are all learning and I do not believe I am experienced enough to offer any, take advice offerred with a grain of salt, everyone is well meaning, however remember it is an individual based programme. I use the forum for friendly unbaised support, I love veiwing everyones before and after photos and look forward to the day that I am confident enough to post my own. Hopefully won't be to long now

Dreamer

Dreamer,
It's not too much of a strain to the hip pocket if you go on the payment plan. I pay about $32 a fortnight! Well worth it! Think of how much money you would spend on the wrong foods in the past, Fast foods, Takeway Dinners, Chocolate, icecream even Bread and milk! Think of all the money you are saving now by not eating those foods anymore and put some of that money into fixing you forever, so that you NEVER have to do this program again! If you could find money before for all the wrong foods then I'm sure you can find it again for Cohen's.
We all just want you to be at your best forever and not to risk this happening to you again. :)

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums..

I'm 19 and am thinking about going on the program. I have PCOS and am obese (Don't know actual weight..). I talked to my mum about it and she and my brothers laughed at me and said there was no way it would work without tons of exercise. I'm not very active, so I'm worried now about spending that kind of money if it doesn't work. I don't think I'll have a problem sticking to it, although it might be hard with all the junk food my eternally skinny brothers eat. (And no milk! D: )
Anyway, I want to prove them wrong, but does anyone actually know if the program has failed for people (people who have stuck to their eating plan and it still failed)?

I was all for it this morning, booked in for the free info session and got my nan to loan me the money for it, but since my family have laughed at me I'm not feeling so good about it =/

Kirby,

Don't give up! If your family laugh's at you now...it's their fault....but the best you can do is join up, loose the weight...and laugh back. Don't think you have no support...you have us all! We are here to support one another! I went to the info session yesterday and had my blood test today...and am on my way to success once I start the programme.

If you loose the weight, gain life....no one will ever laugh at you....as a matter of fact, you'll have the last laugh.

Join up....stick to it...and loose the weight. We're all here for you. :D

No Way Hose!

hahaha i bet your all sick of me now but lately ive been posting more and more on this forum and what im about to tell you guys will hopefully motivate the newbies even further in their quest for the shrinking waistline..:)

So as you all know today i went to the hairdressers to get my hair done - as i havent been in there for 7-8 weeks all the girls immediately noticed how i had lost weight..well this was a great start to the day :D...Ive retouched my blonde regrowth and purple splices in my hair and even decided to add some splices of dark brown and cut my fringe (i was feeling that damn good about myself hehe)..so after walking out of the hairdressers floating on air i had to go to target to grab some cheapo pants/jeans for work as my other ones were getting a bit lose and were starting to look like a potato sack.

I started feeling a bit of anxiety as i absolutely HATE trying on new clothes :(
the last time i tried on stretch denim jeans was last year when i was a size 18..and even THEN they were a bit on the 'tight fitting' side..AND THEY WERE STRETCH!

soooo anyway i walked over to the 'options plus' side and started to pick out some stretch denim size 16 crop pants...went into the fitting room...tried them on...and hold on..

theyre a bit lose...

if i walk in these for a day theyll be falling of my ar$e for the rest of the time...

OMGSH im a size 14?????????????????????????????????

so i hesitantly walked over to the 'girls' side and picked out a few '14' stretch denim crop jeans...all along thinking...'no way could these fit over my behind no way!'..

and guess what...

im sitting at the computer in a size 14 stretch denim skinny capri jeans.
I was so chuffed i bought a black pair and a jeans pair (mind you they were reduced from 39.99 to 13.81 WHO COULD RESIST THAT).

HAPPY LOSING EVERYONE!!! COS GOD KNOWS IM ECSTATIC!! :D:D:D

My turn to ask a question
If I was to have a mango it says 150grams is that with the stone or not? I know its a silly question
Oh and BTW my consult gave me a shopping list and crossed brussell sprouts off with her texta.

Way t ogo Fatcat.. you're going to have to change your name to something like HotKitty or SlimFeline lol Congrats on your achievent.. it's certainly inspired me.

Although having said taht I've been size 24-26 for so long, I tried some 22 shorts on yesterday and they almost fell off my hips!! Bought a pair of size 20 that fit perfectly, a few more weeks and I'll be back in normal sizes, 18, again. Now that's motivating xxoo

Dreamer,

Good on you for using what you have already to try and get back on the Cohen's weight loss journey. It's a pity that your finances are so stretched but your idea of doing the plan that worked previously until you get closer to goal weight is a fantastic idea. Look at it this way, at least your getting skinnier rather than fatter / staying the same, any numbers down on the scales is a great thing.

I've been blessed with my consult she rings me, emails me and is always so surprised when she sees me - cause of how well i'm doing. Even when I fell off the wagon she was very supportive and even confided in me that she too loves RED FROGS! :) It was a pity that you had paid for the program previously and never got your refeed.. was this because they closed? I would have definately expected that they should have / would have offered you visits at another clinic. Maybe it was something to do with the clinic receiving the money and it not being transferrable? Bummer though.

Finishing on a positive note, Keep up the good work, hopefully you will be able to afford the program on the payment plan or upfront, before you get to your goal weight. Fingers crossed for you.

Faithie

I think it means mango flesh only, without the seed. 150grams max

It is a strange thing about the program, that everything is weighed to the 1gram except fruits (which are high in sugars). My programs says "apricot", but doenst say how many ( just one?).

Hi there lessfatty,

I look at the sizes, if it's huge I count it as two pieces of fruit, if its small I mgiht have two pieces to the one I am allowed. I know this may not be 100% correct but my consultant tends to agree. I had asked her before so because it says peach (i love peaches) does that mean a giant one.. like in James and the Giant peach? hehe :) She laughed and thankfully realised that I was joking.
