Cohen's Lifestyle Cohens Lifestyle Support - New

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
The problem is that really this is just a forum of people who are following Cohen diet plan, it is a plan that if followed will lead to weight reductions. From my personal point of view, could there be a better way? my answer is "yes", could that way include more exercise again my answer would be "yes". My point is that if I was 123KG and want to be normal 80KG (and heathy), following Cohen diet will get me where I want to go. However suggesting/hinting that following the Cohen program will be at our "bodies expense" and "verge of heart failure" is just silly, I just see a classic Fear Uncertainty and Doubt comment.

So do you or others who posted part of any business that sells health and fitness products or diet suppliments ?

Fear of uncertainity? of what?

I am a personal trainer (NSCA certified) at the gym so I do sell my services, along with LV (trainer/nutritionist;certified), evo (strength coach;certified), Leigh (trainer;certified), steve (trainer;certified), tony, (trainer;certified).. And we're all here trying to help and expect nothing in return.

Can you also give us some idea of what your qualifications involve, the length of time you studied etc? Did you study anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, neurology etc? My understanding is that people who are personal trainers have done a certificate course, but are not really qualified to provide specific dietary advice, or even exercise advice to people who have medical conditions, such as obesity, high blood pressure, etc. This is why there is a disclaimer when you apply to gyms etc to say that you should seek medical advice prior to beginning workouts.

Well done Brieziel:)

With all the maddness going on we have forgotten the big picture which is to support, encourage and pass on good wishes for a job well done.

You must feel great Brieziel and I know what you mean about your size 14's I am in the same boat isn't fantastic.

Keep up the good work and continue to be a loser.............. like me:)

Thanks guys!

I am also working on getting my stomach nice and flat again, which i've found the best way to do that is go horse riding (ESPECIALLY if you can do lots of rising trot work.... know what i mean!!) It tones and strengthens the entire body, plus relaxes the brain and is great for the soul!

We are all losers! in the best possible winning way! we have made the decision to take control of our lives, and our weight and have found a wonderful way that works for us.

Big congratulations to EVERYONE that decides to do something about their health and get themselves into a healthy weight range. Whether it be through Cohen's or Exercise or High protien, or low carb, or low fat, or CSIRO Diet, or weight lifting and toning, whatever works for you! If it makes you healthier and happier, then you are ALL on the right track!!

Dreamer to spruce up your yoghurt, try adding a sweetner crushed into a splash of sprite zero (helps to dissolve it and mix the taste through-out), mix into the youghurt and sprinkle with some cinnimon........

ahhh!!!
did anyone rad my post about the caffeine free diet coke?!?
i think everyone is too involved in this continuing storm in a tea cup were forgetting what we are all here for...SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT and ADVICE!!

someone please reply!lol :D

FC - Diet Coke

FatCat

Before I began this program, I drank large volumes of diet coke and coke zero. So much so that when I stopped drinking them I had a migrane from caffeine withdrawal.

I don't drink coffee either. Never have. Vile I think.

I also had the idea of substituting my coffee allowance for diet coke.

Ask yourself: WHY?

If Dr Cohen thought this was ok, he would have said it.

So now I drink caffeine free diet coke, and sprite zero.

At the end of the day - it's only me and my weightloss that will suffer - no one else will care. Just me.

Probably not what you want to hear - but if I can go without, you definitely can! Trust me. It's not that hard.

Good luck.

Rather than polute this help, encouragement and support thread any further debating Cohen diet big picture issues and alternatives, I created this thread for healthy discussion on those points, leaving the help and support people to continue supporting each other as they have done for the last 2 years or so.

Carpe Diem!

hehehe thanks for that :) yeh i think all i was looking for is someone to say YEAH SURE GO AHEAD YOU DONT DRINK COFFEE AND WHATS ONE DIET COKE GONNA DO.

well im not going to be the one to find out :D

i think its also because there a sale in coles for a 24apck can of diet coke for $10.47 whilst the 24pack can of 'caffeine free' diet coke or sprite zero is $17.82  so i think i was trying to justify the 7 dollar difference!

thanks again for the kick up the bum bum :D

HAPPY LOSING EVERYONE!!!! XXXXX

Hi FatCat :D

The forum has gotten a bit rediculious i am not even reading anything relating to the outsiders.
And like I posted earlier we have forgotten the full picture of why we are here I rang up my clinic today to query something and I mentioned it to them we had a laugh.
I don't drink any coke never have and never will just don't like the taste (I know some may think i am weird) In general I don't like soft drinks but on Cohen's I tolerate the diet gingerale and sprite zero. And I have to remember to drink them.

Everyone is doing so well. Thanks to Chelsea's butt kick the other day I have printed myself a pic of an elephant, written across the top "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time" How do you lose an elephant? One meal at a time."

I've divided aforementioned big grey elephante into 12 grids and each grid represents 5kgs (5 x 12kg = the 60kg less a little I have left to lose). I'm alreayd half way throug hthe first grid after only a few days.

F.O.C.U.S. Follow One Course Until Successful. (thanks Robert Kiyosaki for those wise words).

I'm the same as you Sam, don't drink soft drinks at all. When I'm out I normally have sparkling water, although the Australian brands are terrible. I occassionally have fruit blended with Sprite Zero as a "dessert", but apart from that, I stick to water and leave the soft drinks for everyone else!

First: I would like to know if you have seen a copy of a Cohen's program?
Second: how can you help me without telling me I shouldn't be doing this program?
Third: Have you ever been obese or classified overweight?

1. I've read the 'What is the Cohen Diet', and the normal day eating regimen.
2. Adjust the program to suit you, no one has the same caloric need as anyone else. And it isn't just Dependant on BMI and weight.
3. I'm am currently classified as 'overweight' as I weigh 223lbs and am 5'9", but my bodyfat% is slightly below 10, so I'm hardly fat. I've helped friends, family, and clients lose over 6-700lbs all together.

I'm NSCA certified, which is a very respectable organization. If that doesn't float your boat, I've taken: Chem 1, Chem 2, Bio 1, Bio 2, Microbio, Organic 1, Organic 2, Physical Chem, A&P 1, A&P 2, Human Morphology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Leadership, Sports Nutrition, Advanced Weight Training, Basics of Bio-mechanics, Bio chem, and am currently in graduate school for pharmacy taking 21 credit hours(The classes I listed are just the ones that are relevant.)

As requested, I will only give out information if someone specifically asks ME. See you'all later.

I don't know about what they have taken, but I have taken the following courses: Biodynamics of Physical Activity, Neuropsychology (one semester), 2 years biology, 1 year of nutrition and been an Olympic certified coach for Baseball for 6 years. I never got any certificate (other than for coaching) because that was never my intention. My goals for taking those courses were only to improve my coaching ability and bring my kids up to their highest potential ... ... so, i guess i should be giving more advice, but i'm not. Reason: i am supposed to be impartial.

My only advice is: no matter what program you are doing, if your body doesn't like what is happening it will tell you and you just have to be smart enough to listen.

hi chelsea,
I have been reading these posts for several months now. with the intention of rejoining cohens. I did it in 2002. I was wondering do you have any before and after photos? I am making a call to the adelaide office as soon as they open today! I can't wait. I have my engagement party on friday, and it really will be my last function fat!!!
