Before and after -125lbs... from 300lbs - > 175lbs.

Hi. I’m a Producer at MTV Networks, currently working on True Life – the long-running, award-winning documentary series that allows young people to share their stories, in their own words. One of the themes we’re currently exploring is a young person’s struggle with body acceptance after extreme weight loss.

I saw your pictures in this thread - amazing!!! If you're interested in learning more about the show, please email mes at: BodyImage(at)mtvn(dot)com. Give your name, location, phone number and a photo, if possible.

Thanks,
Claresa

hey thanks alot for the phone call today claresa..... cant believe we were on the phone for almost 40 mins! I really hope to be on the show that would be awesome! Thanks for your time today!

Wow!!! You look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! It doesn't look like the same person. Holy cow. You lost how much? Well, big kudos to you and keep up the good work on that new body of yours!!! :hurray:

This is incredible! I'm sure you saw this but...

could you have stopped it?!? Who would expect this talent from a 9 year old kid?
Just thought you would enjoy.

^^ hahaha people try it all the time but I play so far out of the crease its hard to do that without running into me. Being from pittsburgh everyone trys doing that since crosby originated that move on the Reebok commercial.

youll be pulling pucks around you like that in no time!!!

RRRiiiiiggghhhhttttt. I was the offensive minded defensemen with a wicked slapshot...not the spin-o-rama seat of your pants forward...that, and my knee would probably fold under me while spinning..LOL The puck control I could do no problem, the spin is another story. I'll have to work on that and see if my knee can hold up in my new "OldML" career as a forward!

Well this weekend was great, I had such a fun time... we left friday night got there and played PSU, with no practices and playing a division one school it was pretty rough, by the end of the 2nd period we were down 3 to nothing not really my fault nothing I could really do with 33 shots on net at the end of the 2nd. Then I took a really hard slap shot right off of my mask, hit me so hard my mask went flying 10 feet in the air, the ref came up to me started yelling at me where is your chin strap mouth gaurd blah blah, your ejected!!!!!! I couldnt come back for the rest of the game, we ended up losing 7-2 :(.

Next game was sunday, we played IUP I ended up making 34 out of 37 shots. I was estatic we won 5-3 I cant even express how much of a great time it was playing travel hockey again, Losing all this weight, going to the gym all these days , playing pickup hockey / adult league all this time was finally worth it. When the final second came and we won I had everyone around me telling me how much of a great game I had played, I talked to other coaches there from the tourney about my playing and overall everyone was really impressed with me..... I had sooooooooooooo much fun I cant even express into words how much fun this weekend was, Im really anticipating the season we play our first real season games october 4th and 5th!!!!!

here are some pics from the weekend...

...blah blah, your ejected!!!!!!

Heard that ALOT in Junior A!! :reddevil: 60 some saves in 5 periods of play is phenominal...maybe you need some new defensemen though!! HA!

Best of luck for the rest of the season. With your work ethic and determination, you should have a great year regardless of wins/losses. Thanks for continuing to inspire!!

yah it was pretty nuts, we looked so unprepared come friday night.. we normally practice every monday and tuesday nights... now the problem was last week there were power outages the rink did not have power for 2 days which ment ice melted no practices lol :(...

Good luck Thursday and Friday. Hope preparation has been going well... or at least you found some stay at home defensive types to help you out a bit!! :D Please post with game results, I know there are a few(to say the least) people on here interested in seeing how your season is going for you.

everything was so hard at first, I never thought I would make it to even play hockey again, when Im there on the ice or joking in the locker room at practice it makes all the sacrifices I made worth it. I have to work harder than I ever worked now and hopefully next year I can play for a D1 school that is the most current goal.

Way to go on the "W's"!! Frickin' "Rudy(the movie)" on ice!! Great attitude, great determination, great story! You will acheive your goal... I have no doubts. Again man... with your drive and work ethic... It's just a matter of playing the game you love. Congrats!!

haha, honestly I hear tinks all the time, I play well positionally so if theres anything to see its normally the posts!

here is a awesome picture a Acha reporter took at our games against Akron College

Planting my foot getting ready to butterfly slide/laterally move towards my right.

We played Akron last week, I ended up with a 30/33 shot game... at the very end of the game it was tied 3-3 with 45 secs left we were on the power play, Akron dumped the puck, THEN THEY CHANGE THEIR ENTIRE TEAM LINES!!! So I caught the change skated up to the circles played the puck to a guy on my team at the other blue line he went down on a breakaway with 15 seconds left and ended up getting the game tying asisst at the end of the game it was awesome! We won 4-3.

Here is a link to my stats, I am starting the year off at a 91% save percentage and a 2.5 GAA, sv% good gaa will always suck in acha teams are hit and miss between whos good and who sucks :(...but as long as im in the 90s for save % Im pretty happy.

Heres an article directly from the acha's website about our victory over Akron well ill just quote the parts from my name...

Once again, Akron couldn't find an answer against CCAC goalie, Daniel Hertzberg. Now with the penalty killing showing good on the first two penalties for the team, they had to go to work yet again as Matt Abrams got a call for interference. CCAC's penalty kill was on key for this game though as they went 3-for-3 on the PK.

Tyler Trocano got a roughing penalty putting his team down a man. Then Joseph Kasper got a roughing call giving Akron a two-man advantage. Only a couple seconds later, Matthew Krysa received a hooking call putting three CCAC players in the penalty box--something Coach Marty Palma didn't want to see. All the penalties gave Akron more and more momentum, but the CCAC penalty-kill would handle the pressure along with amazing play by Hertzberg in net.

Weight wise Im still seeign 175-177 pretty much everyday lol, I have been updating mroe about hockey and not so much about the weight, I have been seeing more and more cardio now that it is during the season,

3-5 days A week I do the following.
Run 3 miles - > do 45 mins on a eliptical - > spin bike for 20 mins.

That has pretty much been the work out to stay in shape during the season...

Heres some pics of the gf and I taken yesterday!

Medidtaing in front of the point here in pittsburgh!!

Thanks for the update!! Good thinkin' to include the stats link in case you end up enjoying life too much to actually write about it!! Frickin' stone wall out there!! Way to play!! Pad those stats for your D1 tryouts next season!! You got it in the glove so to speak!! When you do make a D1 squad... if you play Bowling Green, or Michigan, or Ohio State... leave four tickets at the "will call" window for me! Damn... I get so much motivation out of this thread! Keep dialed in!!
