Before and after -125lbs... from 300lbs - > 175lbs.

I just joined. And I saw your pictures! Thank you for sharing them, you are an inspiration!!! I have my microwave ringing, and guess what I lost my appetite and gained motivation, thank you so much!!
I did read the whole thread, can you tell me if the scale encouraged you initially, I mean did it drop or just stand still for a while, and if so for how long?

Liz :hurray:

This is my favourite thread, you look really great. Happy belated birthday too.
Have you found you excess skin problem has also improved as time has gone on, and as you've done more muscle training??

I was reading over #169(http://weight-loss.fitness.com/471945-post169.html) and it really is inspiring. Im in University and I know i could be doing alot better in general, ASWELL as when I drop all the weight. I know that might sound silly, but for me everything is linked. Plus, I turn 22 in January so Ive definitely got a goal date to aim for, lolol.

Keep up all your GREAT WORK Man!! Im completely Re-inspired to work hard and keep going!!

Such nervousness as of late, I love and hate august every year.. this is the time when hockey is right around the corner... Im always anxious but nervous at the same time..... for the past 2 weeks I have been doing nothing but killing myself with plyometrix and playing hockey atleast 5x a week.... alot of my friends have been waking up early going to stick sessions with me in the mornign and we all have been doing just small little drills and what not...I feel stronger and faster than I have ever felt before.

Tryouts are sept 10,11 and 16th.....I just want to play college hockey again in the worse way Im getting sick of mens league real fast. But hockey is hockey and I love the sport... Im still hitting between 175-177 I think Im putting on some muscle in my legs they feel much bigger in my quads and hamstrings, I finally hit my goal on the leg press as I can do my weight in 30 reps and I can finally lift the whole stack when it comes to calf presses as I am doing 50 reps of 400!! Here are some more current pics as of this update.

Your story is very similar to mine. I too played competitive hockey for many years and only stopped due to injury (KNEE), I got real depressed, gained 80 pounds also, then got busy with life. Anyway, your pictures and story are great motivation...that and playing "old man's league" at the local rink!

thanks!

well if you kinda went through this thread and read majority of the posts... well, basicly at the peak time of my weight; I lost out on a almost 5 year relationship, dropped to below a 1.0 gpa, kicked off my schools hockey team due to grades, could not go to school because of my grades, poor health , fired from a really good job , most of all every single dollar I spent on my Mr2 that was wrecked into by a woman speeding flying through the red light so she could get herself her nicotene fix for the day :(........

I could prolly come up with alot more things......

Bottom line is I made alot of mistakes in my life given all the responsibility I had after highschool that was really where the weight gain started, I wanted to change not only my figure and health but everything around it. Sometimes I feel like I really never set goals for myself for anything, I meen somethings just come easy the things that were hard I just gave up on.... This was really the test for me to see if I could come out on top and lose the weight...i felt like if I could lose the weight I could do anything I set goals to.. because honestly at 300lbs getting to under 200 sounds damn near im possible.....

I lost the weight, I have a 3.0 gpa, I have made deans list for the past 3 semesters... this year should be my last year and ill get my associates degree, next year I should be at Pitt(university),I have a great and amazing relationship with a girl who has been with me since I was overweight and shes simply amazing, I am playing hockey for school next semester with my gpa thank god adult league is killing me, I have a Mr2 once again , and most importantly the hardest part is I dropped the weight.

hope that answers your question, its late I cannot sleep sorry :(

With regards to this...I hope the quote thing worked...still new to this thread/forum stuff, I relate to you even more. I pretty much ruined an eight year marraige due to my lack of self confidence and reservations about being open and honest with my wife from being ashamed. Pretty much my ROCK BOTTOM! I too feel that the weight loss is the key to many different areas in my life. You did find this to be true, correct?

My "New" Favorite Thread!!!!! I adore Your Persistence and Never Quit Attitude!!! You make me wanna work, and I love all the Hockey Pics, takes me back, to when I was 13 yrs. old, on a Roller Hockey team, 3 girls only, the rest meaty....LOL...;) worked out better that way.......LOL!!! Good TImes....!!! Keep on Inspiring!!!!:drool5:

Im sorry to hear about your marriage :(.

I found it it that weight loss was the hardest thing in my life I have ever had to do..... Doing other things in my life after facing what was the hardest challenge seemed alot easier.... believe me once you get the weight loss done you will be able to accomplish alot more!

btw, are you still playing mens league or any hockey at all?

Hockey > all other sports!!

I think it will be for me as well. Back in the day, 10-15 years ago, breakfast skates and afternoon practices were simple...NOTHING in the world to worry about but the sport I loved and the future I thought I was bound for. I have a six and a half year old, a five year old in 4 days, and a three and a half year old. Life is pretty hectic, but I want to get back to playing for me. I coached my old high school team (didn't have one when I played so I played Juniors) and that was definitely rewarding. I loved when they listened, used what I had taught them, and made the smart plays. I took them from worst to third, doesn't quite sound as good as first, but the state champions like four years running were in our division! I had to quit when our second was born...NO TIME, but now, I want to play "old men's league" with the rest of the washed up has beens or never were's. Thanks for responding, I'll be sure to check you out again soon. I'll be sure to post some pics in a few months showing the progress...gotta represent for all the hockey players out there!
