Over here the supreme court finally decided to open up both marriage and the paper-dragon alternative (which has been reserved for same-sex couples so far) for all (consenting, adult) couples. Won't be implemented right away though. Well done, Australia!
It's a positive step LaMa. Let's hope your government doesn't waste $122 million on a plebiscite like ours did. They could have just introduced a bill into parliament. What a waste of public funds! Glad it's done though. Watch the video after it was introduced. The public gallery sang "We are Australian" It was very emotional. Our future female PM I hope is in that video, wiping away a tear.(Tanya Plibersek)
Yay for same sex marriage in Australia!
And Yay for sushi!
I know. Thursday was a good day!
Sushi & fresh Vietnamese spring rolls are my favourite light lunch.
G & I did the rubbish yesterday(ours, an elderly neighbour's & the golf club's). It's a horrible job but a good one to have done.
We had a nice afternoon & evening at home & today we are doing a Spring clean. We have friends visiting tomorrow & their house is always immaculate. It's always a good excuse for a big clean-up.
G had decided earlier in the week that he didn't want to play golf this Saturday & was quite adamant about it. We had almost decided to join a specific Launceston club in 2018, but after driving in there & back on Thursday for his appointment we decided against it. It's a 120km return trip without playing a game of golf in the middle.
I was asked during the week, via email, to commit to doing the bar & running a comp once a month & I said no. (NB LaMa. I said no again!)
We have to find some way of playing golf without getting involved with stress & hassles. It is really only one single man (the captain) who is the problem concerning us. Something else happened on Tuesday directed at me that I am going to ask him about when I see him next. My question will be "Why?"
It is very convenient to play at our local club. It is inexpensive. We leave our clubs there for an extra $25 a year. Yes, only $25! We have a locker so can leave stuff there, like our shoes etc. It is just so convenient!
My dad had colon cancer, and to hear that 'all good' clearance from the doctor is so fantastic. He went with me to yoga recently and had to fill in a form, and on the question of, 'Have you had any recent surgeries?', he wrote down 'No.' I questioned him on it, and he said it was 7 years ago. I couldn't believe it! At the time, he'd been through 5 surgeries in 2 years. It was such an amazing moment. My point is that it's so cool to be in the all clear and that you will probably be off the hook for many years to come now!
It is an amazing moment Em. That's wonderful that your Dad is in the clear so many years after Colon cancer. I'm sure you cherish every moment with him
