Cate's Diary

Hi, Em. An old friend used to say "Can you hear them?" (meaning the plants) whenever it rained, so I think of her when it does.
Thanks Jen. It feels good to be well again.
G & I are off to play golf at a different course today with different people. It rained all night, but hopefully won't be too wet there!

Relaxed golf? Excellent!
Yes, LaMa. Relaxed golf without any hassles or bitchiness, not having to do any work at all & with new people! :D We had a lovely day!
Yay, have fun at the course!
Thanks, Jen. We did :D

I played my new usual woeful golf, but still enjoyed my day. We got rained on quite a few times. It was hot, it was cold, it was wet & it was sometimes windy, but we were out there playing golf in the fresh air & we are much better off than those who stayed at home on the couch.
I am going to go along to a course in Devonport & join in some group lessons, rather than go with any of the local women. I want to get better. I want to be more competitive. A year ago I was playing about 7 shots better than I am now. I need to get some confidence back.

I´m not surprised your game suffered from all the golf-related stress this past year but I´m happy to see it´s still fun. And who knows what interesting new people you´ll come across in Devonport!

I enjoy it even when I play badly, which I know sounds quite crazy. I'm looking forward to meeting new people & playing at other courses. They were very welcoming.

I imagine golf is a great way to meet new people - had never thought of that til now! It's great you enjoy it even when it's not going the way you'd like. Hope your next game is wildly successful. :)

Well, I am in awe of anyone who can play a half-decent round of golf. I tried for years and eventually gave up and got rid of all of my golfing gear - much to the delight of my golfing companions who had to suffer my dreadful play slowing down their rounds for years!

I'm with John! I get too frustrated to even attempt to play, I'm quite envious of anybody that finds it a relaxing experience. I feel like I'm missing out on the catharsis of the game.

I hope you have a wonderful day today! :)

Thanks, Jenni, John, Liz & Tru. I still get frustrated as I know that I can play much better than I am at the moment, but like most things, I think it will pass & I will find some form, so I'm pushing my way through it. Today is the final of our women's monthly medal & I am only 1 of 4 that are eligible to play in it.
It's going to be quite hot & I'm sun-screened up. The UV is going to be high.

Thanks, Brawny & Em. I think G & I might go in for a lesson together.
I am having a too lazy weekend & feel I am turning into a sloth. I could blame the weather, but it would not be right. I do have an exercise bike, sitting collecting dust! I suggested to G last night that we might go for a drive today & go out to lunch somewhere. It has been raining non-stop since yesterday afternoon. In the 1st 2 days of December(the start of our Summer) we have had more rainfall than for all of November. It doesn't look like stopping anytime soon. He's keen even with the rain! Hmmmm....
I need to knuckle down again- weigh myself & start counting calories. I'll start tomorrow!
