What do you guys do just to get out of the house? Any suggestions on things I could do? I'm finding myself stuck in the house an awful lot.

No kids. Just need to get out and about more. I use to go out a lot but now not so much. I need to get in shape.

I work on my antique Volkswagens at a garage away from the house. Me and several guys at work rent a space and all have cars there. We call it "The Man Cave." Its a good getaway spot. I'm painting one of my bugs like a psychedelic hippy mobile, so that's been a lot of fun. I also play golf.

When I have the extra money, I love to go to the casino (I have a bit of a gambling problem and love the slots and blackjack tables). I also like to take long drives on the highway at night, going nowhere in particular.

Be careful with the gambling. I know some one with a serious gambling habbit and he has wasted all his money on betting. You ever thought of giving it up? What do your family think about it?

To be honest, I don't think I'll ever give up gambling but I do know my limits and am quite reasonable to know when to walk away. I do appreciate your concern though :) Even though I'm almost 30 my dad strongly disapproves of it and I get lectured whenever he finds out I've been out at a casino LOL.

But don't you think you should quit though? I know how hard it is to give up a bad habbit. Like they say old habbits die hard. But you can do it. Have you ever tried going to a support group?

Nah, I can say with no reservations that it's really not that big of an issue. I go gambling when I have extra money and I don't dip into my expense accounts so all my bills are paid and I don't have any mouths to feed. It's just like any other hobby I suppose.

I thought you viewed it as a problem but I guess not. Do you have a lot of friends that you socialize with?

Nope now that that I think of it "gambling problem" might have been a bit too strong. I guess I just have a lot of fun doing it though. I only have a close core of six friends I hang out with on a regular basis. If you have any further questions, PM me. I don't wanna derail the topic :)

I am stuck indoors alot too in the evenings. In an attempt to avoid eating through boredom I do a variety of things. In the summer I go on Paranormal Investigations with a couple of friends. Its brilliant exercise as alot of the places we go to aren't accessible by car.
Winter is harder though and I've struggled this year to not overeat through boredom. On the run upto christmas I kept myself busy cleaning the house, wrapping presents, crafting and writing out cards. Now Christmas is over I've started working out on the Wii Fit. I brought Wii Fit Plus and it arrived yesterday, its so much better than the original. I also brought 'Just Dance' which also arrived yesterday its not the kind of game you want to play in front of people (so embarrasing) but I was shattered after a couple of songs.

Other hobbies of mine are photography. I can't wait for lighter evenings so I can go out again.

It's almost like staying at home has become a safe zone. Like if I step outside I'm afraid what problems will appear lol. Anytime I do go out I normally take my car.

Do you know what exactly it is your scared of? Do you work?

What about taking up an evening class? You could drive there, meet new people, learn something new, and avoid being in all the time. It would give you confidence in a safe environment.

It's like this fear is in the subconscious. Personally I don't acknowledge it but this happens normally when I don't go out much I kind of become reliant of home. I am a singer but I get really nervous to sing in front of people. I only normally sing to one person at a time. So to get rid of these nerves I was thinking about going to karaoke every few weeks just so that I could get rid of the nerves. But to be honest I don't have the first clue about karaoke or how much it costs. I'd like to go with a few people that regularly go. Lol its funny cause nerves can really effect your voice whist singing.

This gets me out of the house
