Your hobbies?

I don't really have too many hobbies, but I'm HUGE film fanatic. I also like to sleep. really. I like walking my dog. I like eating. Yeah, we all like eating, but I like going to any new restaurant in the area, trying new foods, or just new products that have appeared in the grocery store. I could have more hobbies, I guess. I probably should. Oh well.

Synchronized swimming is amazing exercise and not very hard. I compete at a high level and one two hour class burns 1400 calories. :) I also enjoy horseback riding a ton, but it's maybe not the most exercise. I also play basketball and volleyball and for non- active hobbies I love makeup and doing other's makeup, sketching, reading and writing stories, and playing my alto saxophone.

My hobbies are watching movies, cooking, jogging, rollerblading, website design and programming (ya i know i sound like a geek, but i donno why i like it). I guess I like the challenge when I try to program something. Sometimes I have so much trouble and then that moment comes where it's like "Yes! i think I know what to do!" and I try it and it works. I guess it makes me feel like I'm smart or something (although I'm not really).

When I have the extra money, I love to go to the casino (I have a bit of a gambling problem and love the slots and blackjack tables). I also like to take long drives on the highway at night, going nowhere in particular.
I like to hit the casinos as well!! Even if i have to stick to the penny slots one night:biggrinjester:. But i'm like you, take care of other things and if i have extra i wanna have fun with , i go!

Hobbies : like to read, casinos, computer gaming but that was more of an addiction i would say, cooking, fishing, etc. Nothing to exciting lol

Awesome, MzScorpio! I love me some penny slots and its the dollar machines that get me gimp-faced :(

I hate the slot machines in Oklahoma. They are extremely tight, but they're only like an hour away as opposed to like Shreveport.

I love the ones in California the best :)

I hit it big on the slots last time I was in Vegas. We were trying to win a new Ford Mustang. It was $1 a spin and I put a $20 limit for myself. $8 in I hit for $2,500. I didnt play a single thing the rest of the day, lol.

Damn! Lucky dog :p It's always usually the people who don't gamble much that hit it big. The most I ever won was from a single spin was $600.

hi, how about looking in your local newspaper or district council to see what events are happening locally and outdoors such as fun days, car boot sales ,antique markets ,theme days anything which you can strolll around getting exercise and being out in the sunshine which lifts the mood, you can go either by yourself or with a friend

if you want something specific other than clubs or sports or something requiring specialist skills how about contacting your local volunteer bureau and spending a few hours at the weekends helping out at a local charity

or even perhaps getting a dog if you like pets to take for long walks choosing a different location each time for variety , stopping off at a nice pub for a refreshing drink and sit and admire a sunset

i dont have to travel far to reach woods and the beach , how about taking some younger relatives eg nephews or nieces on a day trip this would make you very popular with tired parents and young children are great for burning up all your energy

good luck

Wow what a great Quad! and amazing houses in the background too. I love the look of American houses, they make our British houses look like tiny boxes.

The last time I went horseriding I was shattered afterwards. Its so much work. Getting the horse on the bit, keeping your leg on constantly for impulsion, keeping the energy up and getting them to move through their back end. Especially if you do all that in rising trot its a multi-tasking nightmare.

A tip for getting over nerves is to pretend your famous and do this kind of thing all the time. My mum always told me to hold my head up high, pretend I was someone famous and smile. You ooze confidence outwardly which makes people react positively, which in turn makes you relax.

Damn thats a nice quad!

I go road cycling, mountain biking, biking on water (blow up pontoons, its hard work!), playing ukulele, Photography, and doing a fitness course.

I have a lot of hobbies - I draw, read books, I am interested in cosmetics and I have a whole case of brushes and make-up sets. But I do not have much time about any of it lately, because I got a dog a few months ago. She is lovely, but she takes a lot of my time. And walking a dog isn't that much exercise as one might think ...

I watch a lot of movies! I do some scrapbooking and often I get bursts of creativity where I'll paint, sketch, write or create. I play a lot of full tilt poker. Me and the hubby watch the poker tournaments on tv. I also sing karaoke every friday.

My hobbies...hmmmm...does school/work count? hehehe

I like to read, watch movies/tv, play videogames, ski, shop, fart around and do nothing....

Any fellow fish keepers here? I got out of keeping fish for a couple of years, but got back into it so I could water my air plants with health aquarium water. Keeping air plants is also sort of a very new hobby for me.
FYI.... if you don't have any aquatic plants in your fish tank, watering your house plants with aquarium water is extremely healthy for plants (provide the water is from a properly seasoned aquarium, if you need more info about this, PM me)
I'm really enjoying the fact that I have a full sort of symbiosis going on.
Texas cichlid and tillandsia ionantha (these are soil-less plants)

no fishkeepers out there?????

Well I used to have fish babies.
I had a fresh water aquarium. Just 50 gallons.
I even brought them with me when I relocated across the US for 8 hours by car. I wasn't going to leave my babies! (of course I had to have special equipment for this)

But a year later...because of an incredible tragedy... they all died together.
This was 3 1/2 years ago. :(
My fish had lived for 5 years. They could have lived so much longer.
Eclipse, Moon, Grampa, Goldie, Domino/Spot, Citrus, The Clan Brothers, and Bubble.

I haven't decided to adopt fish again since.

50 gallons is a nice sized aquarium. The largest I ever had in my prime fish keepind days was a 75. What kind of fish did you keep?
Honestly, I never named my fish. If you ever have to move again, and have fish, use these:
Bag Buddies Tablets: The first water conditioner with fish calmer that comes in easy-to-use, mess free tablets. Protects customers' fish by reducing stress, promoting slime coat, removing chlorine and chloramine, neutralizing harmful metals and adding beneficial electrolytes. Plus, with the added fish calmer, fish stress is further reduced. Just one tablet in fish bag water also releases oxygen into the fish bag and ensures fish arrive home safely, in quality condition and better overall health.
It's what the pros use to ship fish. Works like a charm.
LOL.. now I think of it... (on a sort of related note) I once heard a "legend" about a guy who kept a bunch of male bettas all together in one tank by adding some kind of narcotic. I was told this happened in Vietnam during the war period when narcotics were freely available. He said the guy wouldn't tell him what he put in the tank to keep them calm. It makes sense, because bettas are from that part of the world, and gambling on betta fights is sort of like cock fighting in that part of the world. However, I don't claim there's any truth to that story. (except the part where someone really did tell me the story)
