Trops Diary

I'm realizing one of my weaknesses is what I heard referred to as BLT, (Bites, Licks, and Tastes). It was so hard to keep from taking a taste here a lick there while making these cakes. To clean up the frosting, I had to use a paper towel to wipe the sides of the cake where they dripped frosting everywhere. Then I threw the paper towel away. :svengo: Throw away good cream cheese frosting? Isn't there a level of hell dedicated to just that offense? Well, they are under glass at this point. Should be safe for now.

I have to get out of here. :willy_nilly:

I don't know. It's easier to fall off the wagon, because you think you do have things in control.

My original goal of 195 was really just a primary goal. Didn't really think I'd make it, to be perfectly frank. I am starting to think that I might have to amend it to a new, lower, goal. Still thinking about it. I did tell my friends that if I get down to 185 I'm taking them out to a steak dinner. That's starting to sound much more possible now then it did when I told them. Still, if I do get down to that I'll be glad to drop the money.
:drool5:........steak sounds GREAT!!!! I wonder....if I should make a little challenge like that for myself too....now that I think about it, I think I would like to go celebrate at the reach of the GOAL!!!

OH that's a GOOD ONE....BLT!!!! ;).....story of my life!!!! That taste never kept me away from the licks, which eventually turned into bites, which then WARPED into ROLLS!!!.........

Exactly two years apart if I remember right?

My daughter and I are exactly 27 years apart. She stole my birthday...best present I ever got for a B-day :D
I wanna play the birthday game! :hurray: My two kids were born exactly 5 years apart AND on their dad's birthday! LOL ;)

Cool! How do your kids like it. Mine find it nice most of the time, but every now and then they want it to be their own thing.

Also, we don't do a friend's party for both of them every year. They take turns, so that can be a hard pill.

Weigh in this morning was 199.6. I knew it would be up, but I'm not too concerned about that. I figured that the 198 was mostly low water. !99.6 is still under 200, so that's good. It's going to be a tough one not popping above the 200 mark, though. Especially today.

Great job. That 200 mark is huge!! You'll stay under because that's what's in your mind to do. I Can't wait to wave good bye to the 200's!... FOREVER! Again, way to live!

Congrats on getting down under 200! I think 185 is totally doable. I had the same mindset about reaching 145, I didn't think I could get that low... and now that I'm under it what is stopping me from hitting 135??? The possiblities are endless!!

Keep up the good work Trops!! :)

Thanks, JZ. I know that it's just a number, but it is something for me. I'm not done yet, but this is a big part to making this a way of life. I figure I just have 60 more years, give or take. Gotta make the most of them, right?

Thanks, D. I'm sure that I will reevaluate in a while. I also might decide that a little maintenance is in order. Still wrapping my brain around it for now.

Hey Trops, great job staying under 200!:hurray:
My kids enjoy sharing the same birthday. I think they enjoy the reaction they get from people when they explain it most lol.
That's a great idea on trading off! Wish I would have thought of that 13 years ago! Every year we have one family party with 3 separate cakes (their 15 year old sister lived with us up until about 6 months ago and her birthday is only 10 days before) then they would each have a seperate friend party. Lots of work! This year my (almost) 13 year old doesn't want a friend party so I'm going to get it all done in one day! :hurray:

When they were real little we could get away with a joined party. Same place and time, just two sets of friends. Can't do that anymore. I wish that we could do the party in the back yard thing, like we did as kids, but our house is too small for that kind of thing. We have to find someplace that will host it. Always means more money. The scheduling, invites, goody bags, cakes, decorations, it's all too much if you ask me. It is to get it all over with once a year.

I was one of eight, and our birthdays are all spread across the calendar. My mom was crazy giving us each a party. :willy_nilly:

:stomps foot:

I never ever had a birthday party - having a birthday 2 weeks before christmas sucked royally...

A birthday party every 2 years would be awesome.. :D

Now I just choose to ignore my birthday

My birthday is a couple weeks before Christmas too and my mom just always made a point of keeping the two very seperate. We wouldn't even put up the Christmas tree until after my birthday (thanks mom :) ) but I didn't get a "friend" party every year either...

Trops, your mom was amazing! My husband has six other siblings and they would just get one simple gift, no party, no hoopla at all, so he thinks I'm a little crazy when I make such a big deal out of birthdays lol...

You say that like it didn't happen. Not only were we threatened with keel hauling, we knew what it meant from a young age.
