Trops Diary

I ate some on the way in to work this afternoon, and they were so good. Super salty, but a nice little punch of flavor. Then tonight I went running and thought that a nice protein cube would go down well, and you know what? It was basically flavorless. Who knew that exercise actually inhibits your ability to taste things.

Wow, had no idea you lose flavor. Interesting.

I love terriyaki cubes. My favorite. MMMHMMM

Hope you have a good weekend Trops! Go Jerky will ya! LOL, not that kind of jerky!!

Well, last night I was stuck at work for a double shift, so I didn't get home till 8 this morning. Now I'm back for another 8 hours, luckily just a single shift. When I woke up around noon, I wanted to have a nice meal with the family since I won't be seeing the kids till tomorrow morning when they wake up. I made some make your own chicken fajitas. Damn, they came out good. Full fat sour cream, real chedar cheese, the rest was pretty low fat, but I wouldn't even guess how many calories I ate.

Now tonight I must either go running or jump rope. Whatever it is will have to be a good one to take care of that lunch. Not that I would change it. We had some good couple of hours together. Not enough, though.

Well, I jumped rope. I'm both happy and disappointed. I was jumping away and I was thinking, "What the Fuck? I think I can get 10,000 tonight." Ok, I'll go for it. Well, I'm going at a faster pace then I had been doing previously and not messing up hardly at all. Then as I'm going I start to feel a pain in my foot. Not a cramp or strain, but just the constant pounding, landing on the balls of my feet. I think my sneakers just aren't giving me the cushion that I need. I stopped at 8200 jumps, but I so had the other 1800 in me. I know I can do it. I just have to find the right sneaks.

Well, 8200 jumps took me 55 min even. That comes to 149 jumps per min. :hurray: I'm reall happy with that. I know I'll have it my next weekend.

Today I took as a bit of a rest day. I thought about running and felt my legs and thought about how much running I'd do, and thought about my feet from yesterday and figured that I'd hit it hard tomorrow. That will be a better day for it. I don't want to get injured and have to take off from exercising.

Food wise was pretty good. Breakfast was a bowl of cereal and coffee. Lunch was leftover fajita from yesterday, but not cheese or sour cream. Dinner was chicken sausage and onions, mushrooms, and green beans with some mix grain thing on the side. Real nice. Oh, and for a snack I had greek yogurt. Good day over all. Sure, no real exercise, but I'll hit it good tomorrow.

One other thing I made, but haven't eaten, is I made hummus. Two batches. The first is roasted pepper hummus, and the other is a roasted garlic (whole bulb of garlic) hummus. Each turned out good. I just wasn't hungry after I made them, but I figure it's good to have as a ready made snack. Veggie dip.

That is some HARDCORE cardio trops!!! My oldest son is into jump rope in a big way right now, and is currently at 175 jumps in a row. He says "daddy, can you do 175 jumps in a row?" I said... I'll try... I was on the floor panting after 162!!! He thought it was hysterical, I thought I needed a doctor! I soon went out and got a jump rope for cardio. 10,000 = bad ass.

Yeah, but if I tried to play hockey I'd be passed out frozen to the ice after 2 minutes. It's all what we're good at, right.

Oh! I forgot about jumping rope. I bought one a while ago when you said you were jumping rope, but I never tried it. I'll have to see if I can find it again. I wonder how many I can do in a row? Seems like something I can challenge myself with to keep me going.

:hurray: I did it! I really pushed it, but I did it. 10,000 jumps on the jump rope. It took me one hour and 9 min, which wasn't the best time, but I'm still happy with it.

Also, this morning's weigh in was 201.2. I just might make under 200 by Wednesday! :hurray:

Good luck on this goal for Wednesday. Man, I bet you can taste it!

Also, As I said before...10,000 jumps = BADASS. I'm inspired to try and hit that mark... Boxers would have a hard time keepin up with you, and that's no l:icon_bs:

Thanks, JZ. Weigh in this morning was 198. I think it was a little low, but I also think that if I'm good today I'll be right around there tomorrow. I'd be very happy with that.

Unfortunately, the kids are off from school today, so I'm keeping them occupied. That means that I don't have my usual refuge from food and such. "Daddy, I want to eat today" Whiners :chillpill: Just kidding, they are being real good.

The plan for today is to make two birthday cakes for tomorrow. It's both of their birthday, so they each get their own cake. Funny thing is the stupid chickens decided to take this week to go into a molt. Now I have no eggs and I'm going to actually have to buy eggs. :icon_bs:

Nothing too exciting. It's more about the decorating for them. The girl (9) is making a devil's food cake with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles and she's going to try to draw a hibiscus flower on it. The boy (7) wants an american flag cake, yellow cake with cream cheese frosting. It's their cakes, so they are doing it all. I'm just going to oversee.

Exactly two years apart if I remember right? Pretty cool that they share a b-day... but not cakes... I bet you have two of everything aye? Try three of everything! I'm not complaining, just find it amusing that even though I buy them each the identical item, they know exactly whoes is whoes. My daughter and I are exactly 27 years apart. She stole my birthday...best present I ever got for a B-day :D

You'll be good for tomorrow... way to hit that goal. It's got to get harder as you get closer to your desired maintenence point.

I don't know. It's easier to fall off the wagon, because you think you do have things in control.

My original goal of 195 was really just a primary goal. Didn't really think I'd make it, to be perfectly frank. I am starting to think that I might have to amend it to a new, lower, goal. Still thinking about it. I did tell my friends that if I get down to 185 I'm taking them out to a steak dinner. That's starting to sound much more possible now then it did when I told them. Still, if I do get down to that I'll be glad to drop the money.

Probably not what I would have picked for a reward... but I guess good company can definately be rewarding! I'm thinking a Vacation for me and the tribe. Disney maybe???
As for my starting goal...I'm in the same boat. I chose 100#'s because I thought that would about do it. I'll have to see how I LOOK and FEEL as I get closer. I always said I would have to cut something off to weigh what insurance/medical tables say I should!

When I told them that, it was the night we went out, the four of us. We laughed so hard that people from other tables wanted to join us, just for the fun we were having. Such a blast. I was roughly half way to my goal, and told them ten pounds below goal. Still, I have to see when I get there if it's a final goal.
