Great work Mystic on being so close to NOT being overweight. You are looking really good & are on a set path. Hope you sell your place asap. Thanks for your support, re: our son xoxo Cate

Thanks guys. Was hoping to be 'not overweight' today but 145.4.

Had so many old dogs to groom today. I had one dog that was 5 yrs old, and the other 5 were between 10-17 yrs old! Usually 6 small dogs would be super easy and I would be off work by 2, but so many old dogs takes much longer.
After work I went for a short ride. It was 30*C out so a short ride got him tired and sweaty.
Afterwards I had to finish up a bit of cleaning on my apartment as the realtor was coming in the evening. Then went to the gym for a workout. It was a tough one despite being a slow easy run with walk breaks. I just wasn't feeling it. Thank goodness I have airconditioning in my house because leaving the barn I felt so hot the thought of working out was just terrible!
35 mins total including 2 min walk warmup and 5 min cooldown, also a one min walk every 10 mins.
Total Distance: 2.93miles (4.72km)
Total Cals: 363
Speed: 5.4, one min at 7.0
I finished at 7:15 so by the time I made food (cooked while I showered), and started eating I was 7:45, then the realtor came early so I still had half my salad and a breadstick left but I didn't want my plates left out cause I wanted the place to look really good so I put my breadstick in the microwave and the salad and some dirty dishes in the fridge haha.
THe realtor liked my house and thought it would show well. Signed everything. I need to get a lot of condo paperwork, hope that doesn't cost me too much money!

Lunch: Sour cream cinnamon muffin
Supper: Hot Chicken wrap, salad, breadsticks
Snack: Salad, chocolate
Total Cals: 1453

Also, WAHOO!! 3 day weekend! My groomer is finally back from her trip so I am taking the day off tomorrow!!! It will partially make up for 2 weeks of 6 day work weeks!
Tomorrow I plan to workout (might say screw my back and do weights!), then go to the hardware store to pick up some supplies to go to my mom's house and finally start refinishing my table and chairs! Then later in the afternoon I'm going to go ride my horse, then bath him because...
Saturday morning I plan to go with my mom to the barn and do a photoshoot so I have some nice pictures of me and my horse for when he sells. I don't have anything else planned for tomorrow but I might head to the beach for a bit and/or work more on my table or chairs. Or I may just go home and do NOTHING the whole rest of the day ;)
Sunday I need to do another workout, then I need to go grocery shop to pick up stuff for my brother's potluck birthday party at 4. In between there I'm going to the beach with my friend.

GASP! This week's official weigh in snuck up on me!! I just realized that it's tomorrow! I am no where NEAR making either my mini goal or my challenge goal! Poop!! I do have one more week for my mini goal so COULD possibly make it still, not the challenge goal though!

A poor weigh in to finish off the month. I don't know why things have slowed to a crawl. I didn't even lose 4 pounds this month.

Starting weight: 183.5
Current Weight: 145.2 (-0.6)
First Mini Goal Weight: 160 by March 27 *Accomplished March 20th*
Second Mini Goal Weight: 144 by July 3
Final Goal Weigh: 125

Thanks. I'm glad it's going in the right direction, but with the cal deficit and exercise it just seems ridiculously slow. It's not like I'm falling off plan or anything!
Today was a bit tough as I was off work, but didn't really have any 'hard' plans. And I allowed myself a bit of time to just relax after 2 weeks of 6 day work weeks.
Forced myself to get up and weigh myself at 7:30am so it would be a true weigh in. Then went back to bed and slept till my alarm at 9:30, then dozed on and off with my snooze button till 9:50 or so. Stayed in bed with my computer till probably 10:30 or so. Got ready for the gym and headed down.
Decided Eff my back I'm doing weights! It was feeling much better the last day or 2. I did my 5 min warm up on the treadmill (0.46 km, 59 cals), then went to do weights.
I knew that I wanted to back off the weight a little today at least on my squats so I could work on form and not reinjure. My SL 5x5 app actually told me to deload since it had been 2 weeks, by 20%. I really tried to focus on form, I even video'd myself on a few of them to see what I was doing. I made sure my feet were in front of my knees, tried to make sure I was pushing with my legs, tried to keep my core strong, thinking of slightly tucking my pelvis. I felt ok doing it. I also tried to think more of my core doing the bench press and bar bell row.
Squats 80
Bench Press 45
Bar Bell Row 45

I had zero energy to do cardio afterwards. It filled me with dread to think about it. Instead I went upstairs and changed into a cute skirt and top, leashed up my puppy then headed out for a 5km walk. My back hurt a bit during the walk, but it felt fine the rest of the day. I did take an advil right after working out. Steps were 7508. Cal burn 320. Pace 9:50mins/km. Time: 49mins

I then went back upstairs, had lunch and sat around till 3:30. I was really having to fight my urge to eat as I was getting bored and nothing was really distracting me. I finally decided I needed to get out and do something or I would eat badly. So I decided to go with part of my original plan for the day which was to work on refinishing my chairs and table at my mom's house. I made up my chicken for my wrap before I left (it smelled so good it was so hard not to eat it right then!), then packed up the rest of my supper. I went to the hardware store first to pick up paint and some supplies.
I went to my mom's and started to work. I had just bought the little sanding sponges to try to strip off some of the paint. I thought that just for doing one chair (I wanted to practice the techniques on one chair before doing all the chairs and table), and that I didn't have to get all the paint off everywhere, just on the edges and some other spots that I wanted to distress later, that a sponge would be ok for this chair.
Nope, the edges weren't too terrible (still a ton of work but would come off) but the flat surfaces would NOT budge!! Thankfully my mom hand a power sander. I generally try not to use power tools because I have a great talent at trying to kill myself. But that thing worked so much better with so much less effort haha. It still was quite the process!
Finally got it sanded to the point I thought I would want (though afterwards I knew there were a few places I could have done a little better that were hard to reach), and stopped for supper as it was already after 6. Time flies by when you're busy. Back at it, I dusted it off as much as possible then started to paint. I used quite a dry paint brush and purposely didn't do a 'good job'. Since I want it to look distressed and old, you kinda TRY to do a bad job haha. I am doing the main part of the chairs white, and the seat light grey. I did 2 light coats and am SO happy with the colors I chose! I had initially been looking at a darker grey and am SO glad at the last minute I changed my mind to the lighter grey!
I still need to go it and actually do the distressing, but wanted to make sure it was totally dry and cured before sanding and I was working in the basement and was losing the light from outside.
Here are pictures of the process (top/left before, top/right after sanding, bottom/left first coat of paint, bottom/right second coat)

By that point it was already after 8 so I went to head home, at the last second I decided that one of my evening snacks was going to be frozen yogurt. They finally had a really good flavor there called birthday cake. Yum. After I ate that out in the sunshine, I drove home. Had my last snack and have relaxed the rest of the evening.

Here's a couple random pics from today. One is of me sucking it in as hard as I can and almost achieving the type of waist I would want haha. The other is me chilling between benchpress sets.
411436052.jpg

Lunch: Bagel w/ PB
Supper: Chicken wrap, salad, breadsticks
Snack: Frozen yogurt, popcorn
Total Cals: 1700

I have about 4300 cals for the weekend. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to keep it lower as we are having that potluck bday party for my brother on sunday.
I decided against the photoshoot tomorrow with my horse as I didn't have it in me to get to the barn and ride and bath and everything today, so we are planning for that for July 1 (canada day so no work).

OMG!!! Bad eating day today! I don't know if it was the heat or what but I had the munchies all day, AND I gave in to them!
145.4 this morning.

In the morning I got up and went for a 5 km run outside. It was a good 25*C out, and I just couldn't quite make it under 30 mins.
Pace 6:12 mins/km
Cal Burn: 452
Then walked the last bit home.
Distance 0.48km
Cal burn 32

After I headed to the barn and rode my horse. It had to be a light ride as it was boiling and I didn't want him over heating.

Went back to my mom's place. She had made piggies in a blanket, so I had 2 of those as well as the bagel w/PB I had brought. I showered and changed and headed to the hardware store for a couple things. Came back and distressed the chair I had been working on, then did a clear coat finish.
I waited for that to dry and ate the peanut butter granola bar I had brought. Helped my mom with a couple things, then came back inside and ate 6 turtle chocolates.
Started to work on sanding my table. Spent a good while on that, then decided that I should dry paint thinner and see if that goes better. We don't have any so I quite for the day, plus it was supper time. I made a proper sized supper and planned to get on track.
Then after supper my mom brought on the cinnamon rolls, of which I had 3.
I then headed home, but stopped and got frozen yogurt, and then I went home and had breadsticks, then got myself a bunch of chocolate. I didn't eat many of the chocolates as my tummy was finally feeling gross.

Lunch: Piggies in a blanket, bagel w/PB
Snack: turtles, granola bar
Supper: sweet and sticky chicken, salad, cinnamon rolls
Snack: frozen yogurt, chocolate, breadsticks
Total Cals: 3323
Whoops, ate the rest of the chocolate so finished at 3565 cals
Whoops, so apparently I'm jsut gonna keep eating today! Had a bagel w/PB so finished up at a cal of 3925. I better stop now!

I only have 1000 or so cals for tomorrow to stay under my weekly goal, obviously, especially with my bro's bday party, but I'm gonna try to keep things as low as possible. Try to keep it under 1700.
Even though I have already done 5 days of working out this week but I'm going to try to do a workout tomorrow to make up for it.

oooooooook,
so after how horrid I ate today I forced myself out the door for another run at 10:20pm! I knew, just KNEW, I would be suffering from side stitches due to all the food I ate today, especially the stuff I ate just before running. AND, true to expectations, side stitches is exactly what I got. The entire run I had one that ranged from dull to excruciating. However due to all the calories I ate today boy did I have energy! My legs were like 'whoo! let's go!! Yaaaaaa!' and I was just floating over the ground! I would have made such good time but the side cramps slowed me down. I never walked and tried not to slow down, but they were bad enough that I was grunting and groaning at times, and growling at myself to ignore it, I deserved it for eating so terrible haha.
I was initially going to go for 4km, then as I was running and felt so good, I decided to do 5km, then I was feeling so good (and it was the perfect temperature out), I went for 6km!
Time for 6km: 37:44
Total Distance including walk cooldown: 6.38km (3.96miles)
Total Cal Burn: 563

Total Distance from both runs: 11.86km (7.37miles)
Total Cal Burn: 1047

It's like talking to myself this week.
145.8 this morning

Woke up this morning and headed to the gym to do another workout to make up for eating poorly yesterday.
Did a 5 min warm up on the treadmill before weights. (0.43miles, 51 cal burn)
Squats 85lbs
Overhead Press 45 lbs
Deadlift 90 lbs

I think my form is pretty good on squats and overhead press, deadlift I think still needs some tweaks.
I then went out and did a 4km (2.5 miles) run. Cal Burn 361
Total Distance (including warm up before weights): 2.93 miles (4.72km)
Total Cal Burn: 412

I got ready for the beach then drove to the grocery store to pick up the stuff I needed for my potluck dish for the party. Stopped off at my mom's house to drop it off then my friend and I headed to the beach. It was so nice and warm out, perfect beach weather. Sun tanned and did some swimming.
Afterwards I made up my potluck dish, showered, then went to the party. Tried to stay reasonable with the food, and only had the tiniest sliver of cake.
I got home around 7:45pm. Normally I would have snacks in the evening between 8 and 9 but I didn't want to eat anymore. Instead I got to work cleaning my place as the photographer is coming tomorrow so my house ad can have some nice pictures.

Snack: Peanut Butter Granola Bar, Watermelon
Lunch: Cheesie Dip w/crackers, piggies in a blanket, crackers with cheese and garlic coil, ice cream cake
Total Cals: 1700 (a bit of a guess)

Here's some pics with my bathing suit. The ones on the left were taken when I bought the suit June 14th. The pics on the right were from today. (Now I ate a big slice of pizza and 2 large breadsticks before trying on the suit on the 14th so was bloated from that, where as the pics from today I hadn't eaten anything yet that day and had just finished working out)

Pretty slow here lately. Summer I guess. I haven't been around much lately, but I'm trying to get back to it. You're doing great! The running penance was a good way to handle over eating. I've done the same and it really connects eating and feeling poorly in a direct way. Looking great!

The pics look fantastic. You've made a ton of progress in not that much time.

You seem to be doing better than everyone else here. I'm struggling on weekends and undoing a week's worth of good work in two days.

The pace at which the weight comes off is really strange: it can go excruciatingly slow and then all of the sudden you lose 6 pounds in a week. At this point, I'm not sure there's too many people on the planet with more experience than me at watching the pace at which you lose weight. And yet it STILL is a mystery to me why it works the way it does.

I guess that just means that you have to stick to the process and ultimately if you do the right things, the right results happen.

When it's your Summer (now, of course) it's almost always really quiet in here. When it's our Winter( ha ha- now, of course) when you have more time indoors & really wish there were more about, they're not. Oh well. You are doing really well Mystic & looking great! xo Cate

Thanks for the replies. I find it hard when I do something I'm proud of (such as doing the extra workouts after a bad eating day) without much support. But I know that sometimes people just don't feel like posting or aren't doing so well with their weight loss or something. I have had those times.
Big jump up to 147.2.
Lazy day today after work. I did go grocery shopping and bought some stuff to try some new recipes with. I also had a friend come down and see my condo as he is actually currently in the market for one. He's probably not interested in mine as him and his wife need something a bit bigger.
I had already decided on what I was going to eat for supper today before I went grocery shopping so I had that to eat, but at 9pm I decided to try to make a broccoli, cannellini beans, and cheese soup. Taste tested it and it's pretty decent, and quite low cal at about 180 cals for a serving (not a huge serving but ok sized).

Lunch: Salad
Supper: Salad, breadstick, pizza pretzel
Snack: Salad, breadstick, yogurt with raspberries, chocolate
Total Cals: 1450

Mystic, I read your diary every day & am really impressed with your progress & commitment. There are so many days when I struggle to say anything positive I'm sorry as I just have not had the mental energy. It does not mean that I don't care. I really care. Your enthusiasm is great. Don't be dependant on what others say or think, be proud of your achievements & know that we are too. Much love, xo Cate

I read you and cate's diaries every time I come here. I read others here and there but I follow yall's pretty close. I don't post in diaries near as much as I should because I'm usually on my phone and I struggle with the small screen and fat fingering the touch screen.

For me your progress, energy level, and dedication have been very motivating. And knowing that people are reading your thread instills some personal accountability. In my thread, if I don't post each day I will go back and post the days I haven't been on so that there's an accountability for each day.

You're progress is amazing. You look fantastic and I hope you feel as great as you are looking. Hang in there and stay the course and you'll continue to see even more progress towards your goals. It takes consistency over time and you've certainly done that.

Thanks guys. I'm glad I can be motivating to others.
146.2 this morning. Starting to come down from my jump up yesterday.
Initially thought that they work day was gonna be crazy, but thankfully we got ahead of it and finished on time. The soup I made yesterday tasted pretty good.
Went to the barn and lunged my horse. He was quite good.
Got home, changed and went to the gym. 5 min warm up (0.44miles, 53 cal burn) then weights
Squats 90lbs
Bench Press 50lbs
Barbell Row 50lbs

Then 35 min cardio (including 5 min cool down) This was hard, especially at the start. I allowed myself to walk every 10 mins.
Distance: 3.37 miles
Cal Burn: 422

I was supposed to be going to a BBQ tomorrow as it's a holiday for us, but there is a guy there who I won't see so now I have no plans. Gonna workout and ride, but not sure what the rest of the day holds.

Lunch: Broccoli and Kidney Bean Soup
Supper: Salad, breadsticks, pizza pretzel
Snack: Salad, yogurt with raspberries, chocolate
Total Cals: 1450

I'm not sure exactly which day it is, but Happy Canada Day Mystic!!!! Why won't you see this guy? Can't he be ignored? xoC

If Australia is considered "Down Under", does that make Canada "Up Over"? I now live much closer to the equator than I ever have...and the heat and humidity are oppressive...but I don't have to deal with ice and snow anymore!!!
