Third Times a Charm?????

Was a good weekend. Took the time and relaxed during the holiday weekend and now I'm well rested and ready to get back at it this week. I'm really hoping for a good strong and productive week.

Ok, so here is this weeks motivational quote to help keep me digging deep:

DREAM BIG. DON'T EVER GIVE UP. HELP OTHER PEOPLE ACHIEVE SUCCESS AND YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

Keep digging people. I wish you all a great and productive week....

Digging away... Another true one! But taking time to rest is just as important, you´ll do well this week!

Had a funny thing happen to me tonight.
After I got home from the gym I laid down on the floor in my living room to relax a bit, due to the intense workout. When I tried to get up via a push-up I could not budge. It was like the muscle in my arms pretty much was telling me "SCREW YOU!!!! YOU MAKE ME LIFT ALL THAT WEIGHT AND YOU NOW WANT ME TO PICK YOUR ASS UP?? I DON'T THINK SO".
I couldn't help but laugh....

Hey anyways thought I would post up a pic of my self I took while at the gym tonight. It isn't a lot to woo about but I think I'm starting to see a little progress..

Ok well I'll see you all tomorrow. Sleep well.....

Maybe your wife could wave a cheeseburger over your head to get you off the floor...lol..I think that would get me movin haha...nice work dude. You are makin it happen

For context: one of the things I do for a living is look at clothed people and figure out how much muscle/fat there is hidden under there. I see quite a lot of muscle here!

Really???
Well to start with, Thank you LM. I appreciate the complement. That really makes me feel good and that I'm not doing this all for nothing.
Secondly, My main problem area is my waist. It is where most of my fat is stored. 42" to be exact. You just can't really tell in these pics. One of these days I'll post a pic with out my shirt or a shirt that will show my gut. lol Be prepared to get scared..... lol

Did you take pictures (for yourself, I´m not trying to pornify the forum ;) ) with your "gut out" when you started? A lateral view will show changes best, ideally with the photographer keeping the same distance each time. I´m sure you´re changing there too, but it´s hard to see positive change in something you´re not too fond of.

Hiya! GDH.

I agree with Maria. You should see (or perhaps not) the photo of me standing sideways when I started this diet such a difference now, yet I can't see it myself
Muscles add weight. Many people on your exercise regime report weight gain or even stagnate weight change, when in reality, the flab is dropping off them and being replaced by muscle.
Don't forget either, that sometimes the scales 'stick' when we are losing inches not pounds. Not easy to pick up when you are bulking up.
When my weighing scales seem to have stuck I remind myself that if we lost weight all at once, what would we do with the slack skin...? Gather it up and tie it in a knot on top of our heads...? I think not!

Thanks all for your comments. And yes LM I have taken a profile shot. Just haven't done an update lately to compare. I know what you are all talking about. I've seen and experienced it before. Its a slow and hilly road and I just have to be patient.

Anyways. Workout was good last night. Did my running and worked legs and abs. Really wanting to push it this week due to somebody's birthday this Sunday and Somebody wants love to be able to really enjoy it..... ;)

Another good night in the gym.
Did my running and upper body workout. And even thou I can't really see any real visible change in my body I can feel my body tightening up, so I'm taking that as a good thing.

Not in the best of moods today. Woke up this morning with no enthusiasm. Kind of on the depressed side of things. Did go workout last night. Ran 30 min and did some ab workouts.

Days like that are a real downer. Hope you are on the up now love. If you a get a minute, look on my thread, what husband said about me in me new dress. Trouble is, GGH he's right!

Hey all, I have to apologize for my little absence for the past couple weeks. Have had a lot going on personally that I'm dealing with. Actually still do. Haven't even been to the gym in that time and I'm feeling every little bit of it. I don't even want to step on a scale right now. Planning on getting back in the gym today but not at all motivated. Hard to get things out of my head to concentrate on workouts.

Hey GGH, sorry to hear you´re having a rough time but happy to see you here again. If you want my advice (otherwise just skip it ;) ) Hit that scale, it´s the fastest way to get back into the race. And concentrating on workouts/eating healthily helps reduce stress, especially during times when you don´t have the time and the energy for them...

I've been told to ditch the scales:confused:: Hope I can get in the right state of mind for the changes my dietician has made

Well I can say this. It wasn't a bad week in my fitness but it wasn't good either. Hit the gym pretty good last week running 30 min a day to start then working on weights which was pretty good. But the bad thing is that there is absoloutely no real movement in the scale. Haven't lost a pound in over a month. I can't understand it but during the week Ill lose maybe a pound but by the end of the week I gain it back again. I looked at my diet thinking that may be the reason but its not. I keep pretty much a strict diet eating low calories and low fat. I eat lots of chicken and turkey during the week. I've all but cut out sugars and fatty foods except for on the weekends and even then I don't eat that much. I don't understand... :toetap05::confused:

Hm... that does sound frustrating. How many calories are you at? Maybe you can post a typical (or just any) day and have everyone give their two cents? I admire your perseverance by the way, I would be screaming and kicking if my body were to pull a trick like that. (Not that it would help...)

Is there a dietician at the gym you go to, or is there one at your doctor's surgery? You need to sit down with one and workout where things are going wrong. If you don't, you'll fall off the wagon for sure. Excellent as this forum is for advice you need a good long face to face with a pro. Someone who can actually see you
