Didn't sleep well last night. I was up and down all night, but still managed to get up at 4 am to go to the gym. Had an interesting thing happen to me last night. My daughter made a good dinner last night for us of Pork chops, mash potatoes and corn. I made sure to portion my food out and using proper eating technique of eating slowly and putting my fork down on the plate between bites. By the time I was done with my plate I was quite satisfied and did not go for seconds. Now that isn't the interesting part. The interesting part is that I was hungry an hour later. Never had that happen before that soon after a meal. The good part is that I made sure and resisted the erg to go looking for food. Instead I made myself a cup of green tea and that pretty much did the trick in crushing the craving.

20 min run
30 min rowing machine
30 min elliptical.

I get that sometimes when I start to cut my calories after a time of less controlled eating. I guess it´s just my body trying if I´m serious about things. Well done resisting!

thank you LM,
So I'm sitting here at work and as the day goes on I'm starting to feel some aches in my body. Not real worried about it, just marking it down as my body is fighting to get healthy.

Hi GGH, since you read my diary thought I'd drop in and return the favour!

Can't believe you go to the gym at 4am, yikes. That's some dedication you've got there.

Thanks Luz. I appreciate it.
Yea because of the fact that I have to drive an hour to get to work everyday I became a member at the gym in the city where I work at. I did this because since I live out in the country it would be a waste of gas and time to drive the opposite direction to the closest gym. Also, I found out the hard way that I benefit more with working out in the morning. So I get up every morning at 4 am to be at the gym by 5:30 and work out until 7:00.

Workout was good this morning. Feeling it in my body pretty good today.

20 min run
3 sets - planks @ 45 sec each
3 sets 20 reps - crunches
3 sets 20 reps - oblique crunches each side
3 sets 20 reps - elevated crunches
30 min elliptical

Caroline, Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it.

Feeling sore and very tight today, but managed to get passed it and hit the gym. Today makes 3 straight weeks of working out 5 days a week. That's 3 perfect weeks to me since the weekend is my rest period. I have made it to the gym every required day except one and that was the day it dropped a ton of snow on us and I spent 2 1/2 hours shoveling my drive. I count that as one hell of a workout. lol. Cause let me tell you I felt that day in every inch of my body.

So since it is Friday I hit the weights again this week. Seems to be a good way to finish up the week. So I shortened my run to make time to lift.

15 min run
3 sets 10 reps - Lat pulldowns @ 120 lbs
3 sets 10 reps - Pectoral press machine @ 90 lbs
3 sets 10 reps - shoulder press machine @ 50 lbs
3 sets 10 reps - tricep press on cable machine with rope @ 60 lbs
3 sets 10 reps - bicep curl on cable machine with rope @ 70 lbs
3 sets 10 reps - ab crunch machine @ 40 lbs
30 min elliptical

Now for my rest period. See you all on Monday. Have an awesome and healthy weekend.

Ok, just thought I'd drop a little motivational tip for you all. Just another little quote that helps me push that much harder and I hope it helps you all also....

Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, an hour, a day or even a year, but eventually it will subside, and something else will take its place. If you quit however, it will last forever.

Nice one Caroline,
Well I blew my perfect week this week. Didn't sleep well last night at all then my dog decided she wanted to go outside at 2 am. So when my alarm went off at 4 I turned it off laid there for a min and the next thing I knew it was 5:30. So no gym today. Shit happens eh. Well I'll get back at it tomorrow. I'm not going to let one day ruin me.

Sleep is part of it too. I know you'll get right back to it. Not having enough sleep usually makes me hungrier the following day. Maybe you missed the gym to keep your diet intact.

Ok back into it again. After yesterdays bust of a day, I got back into the gym today and punished myself. lol Not really, just kept my typical workout.

20 min run
3 sets planks @ 45 sec each
3 sets 20 reps elevated crunches
3 sets 20 reps oblique crunches each side
3 sets 20 reps crunches
30 min elliptical

Nothing really to say today. Just listing my workout from this morning

20 min run
3 sets 10 reps standing side bends with weight @ 45 lbs each side
3 sets 10 reps body squats with weighted ball @ 18 lbs
3 sets 10 reps cable crunches @ 90 lbs
3 sets 10 reps vertical leg lifts
3 sets 10 reps ab twist machine @ 110 lbs
30 min elliptical

Oh yeah there is something I wanted to post I just remembered. Came across this motivational quote yesterday that I found interesting.

SUFFER THE PAIN OF DISCIPLINE OR SUFFER THE PAIN OF REGRET

Went into the gym this morning with an attitude. Was not in a good mood. Think I'm going to pay for it now cause I took it out on myself.

20 min run
5 sets 2 min each rowing machine
5 sets 20 reps mountain climbers
3 sets 10 reps horizontal leg lifts
30 min elliptical

Holy crap! Your legs are going to hurt buddy. Nice quote too. It's severe, but honest. Not the kind of quote you'd see on facebook in fancy script with a flower and butterfly framing it. Very true. Fortunately discipline becomes less of a pain the more it becomes a habit. Good job having the will to form the habit of discipline. I'm guessing your leg pains will be both pains of discipline and of regret. Change the "or" to "and" and you've got yourself a title for that workout. I bet you felt better.
