The Fat Gamers Weight loss progress thread

the differences between my situation and yours are few and far between for the last five months I've been attending an I.T Academy (walk 3.6miles there and back), on january the 1st I quit drinking coca-cola I only drinking diet Lemonade and Vodka when out as opposed to lager and I'm starting to feel the effects one month on I have no idea how much I weigh but I've signed up for the gym as my course ends in 2 weeks and I'll have 6 months free before I start uni so It'll keep me occupied if you don't mind me asking what games do you play? and are you from the United Kingdom? also i'll be posting up some starting pictures from last month and an introduction anyway congratulations and keep up the good work dude

Thanks =)

I just game on my PS3 at the momen't I'm into Battlefield Bad company 2, Dead space 2 and LBP2. and yep im from the UK

Awesome progress! You look fantastic! An inspiration to all of us!

Do you enjoy Fallout at all? I'm addicted to New Vegas!

Hope you're still around. Wanted to comment on something because I remember you saying you still seemed to have a belly on you...at your height and weight I doubt much of it is fat.

Its probaby loose skin like what I have.

check this out..
Most of this is loose skin.
yeah...I know...gross, but its the sad reality of losing alot of weight often :(

Don't get discouarged...the reason I say this is because the skin can be deceptive. I remember after coming back from a teenage boot camp, before I ballooned up to really obese, I was in the 170's and didn't have much pudge at all on my stomach.

Hope you're doing well

wow mate thanks! Your's really doesn't look too bad at all. I would be happy if mine turned our like that.

I'm going to update this thread on Friday with my new weight and pics. :seeya:

Wow man, you weigh less than me now! I just hit 159 today.

You look great man! Seriously, big difference! I really doubt most of that is fat. It doesn't look like it. That's what I would've thought too....crap my loose skin in my eyes still looks like fat to ME, but I don't think it is.

You're over 5'7' but not 5'8''. 157 puts you at a normal BMI. I'm not sure what a healthy weight would be. People have told me 160 for 5'7'' height. You look very good already. Becareful. Don't get too thin! Seriously though, incredibe job! Huge difference. love handles are gone. I'm proud of you man.

Thaks man i really look up to you on this forum when i'm feeling a little unmotivated i always find myself coming back to your thread =D.

I'm thinking about going 147lb or 140lb. I don't plan going below 140lb . I'm pretty sure i still have a bit of fat to go from my stomach but i heard that is where guys tend to lose it last.

Nice work on the weight loss.

Nice work. I am trying to lose weight loss plan also and currently @ 174 pounds. I am 5 feet 8 inches tall. I like to know your exercise schedule and routine, what do you do, your calorie intake, sample food diary and whether you do any weight lifting.

I was 210 on December 1st and was loosing 10-12 pounds a month till 3rd week of February. Now I am loosing like 5-6 pounds a month. I have changed my exercise schedule and incorporated eliptical machine into my cardio routine. I do 50-55 of eliptical or 30 minutes treadmill and 30 mins eliptical 5 days a week. I don't do weight lifting and started doing it since yesterday.

I still have a fat roll under chin(ugly). Did you have a fat roll under chin @ 174 pounds?

Man you look great, hope I can get there someday, I miss the day when I was 180# after being over 250 for 15yrs

To be honest mate I don’t really have much of a routine or a followed diet. Here is a list of advice and things I do.

• Walk 4-5 miles 3days a week
• Drink at least 4 litres of water a day
• Cut out every drink. MUST BE WATER ONLY. Fizzy drinks are just wasted calories.
• Wholemeal bread only but only eat it in moderation don’t go overboard.
• Really cut down on cheese I can go weeks without it now. I used to eat so much cheese.
• Skimmed milk only but also only in moderation.
• For breakfast 2-4 egg whites and Bran flakes every couple of days.
• If you must eat lunch then have a chicken or tuna salad.
• No junk food. You can have a cheat meal every now and then but don’t stuff your face until your stomach hurts and you feel sick.
• Find out your BMR here then eat about 200-300 calories less than what it says
• Try to do a couple of push-ups throughout the day whenever you get chance.
• Also at the moment I am trying to do 100 sit-ups every day.
• I also have a set of 20KG dumbbells, which I use whenever I have some free time.
• Also take progress pictures of yourself like I’m doing it really keeps me motivated.
• I must have been missing an important nutrient in my diet because I went through a stage where I would go dizzy every time I stood up but now I am taking multivitamin’s that seem to have cured it.
• Eat potatoes in moderation.

That is pretty much all of it if I can think of anything else I’ll add it.
About the rolled up chin I may have had it a little but not much just keep losing weight and it should soon go.

Good luck!

Thanks to everyone else!

Thanks for yur post

Thanks for detailing your exercise and diet routine. I do a lot of walking ,elliptical and started weight lifting again. I am training for the couch to 5k plan. I am off diary products , eat potatoes rarely, noi junk food at all, no alcohol, eat brown read mostly and only drink water.

I weighed in @ 173.4 pounds this morning. Hopefully the double chin will disappear at some point. I am not sure what the weight point will be.

Lost another 2lb today i'm now at 155lb. I also went to the Gym for the fist time because my mum had a free pass. Really enjoyed it had a go on a couple of the machines and am thinking about signing up to it :)
