The Fat Gamers Weight loss progress thread

i'd like to say thanks;

you're the reason i joined this forum, i've always browsed forums websites looking for tips and advice to pick up, as well as inspiration to truly get going, then i saw this.

If I'm honest, your first picture looks alot like me, maybe a bit different, but still, then seeing your pics as you've lost weight, was just wow..

So thank you for sharing these pictures, it honestly has been my biggest inspiration to really start losing weight

Wow man thanks that means a lot to me =D.
If I can do it anyone can do it. Good luck on your weight loss journey

We have almost the same physique, although i'm 6foot 4 .

But, amazing job, very inspirational, i can see myself there too ;)

Cheers

Very inspirational stuff man!

You motivate me to keep on pushing, because there is a finish line down the road.

Keep up the awesome work man!

I'm in a similar position to what you were, avid gamer who spends too much time at my PC and slowly grew to about 250lbs, although I'm about 6'1" so a bit taller.

I have started counting calories and have made lifestyle changes over the last months to cut out any high calorie food including fizzy drinks, I think I'm losing weight steadily, that isn't the problem for me.

My main problem is that I'm worried about loose skin, it seems like once you've hit this kind of weight there is no going back, your skin will never completely recover, it's great to see pictures to see exactly what to expect as I loose weight. I'm not fussy about getting thin, I think based on picture I've seen that I'll drop to about 200lbs and stay about there which leaves me large but before the loose skin starts becoming a problem.

It's so disheartening to know that even after a long time of losing weight that you're just going from one problem to another, only the loose skin can't be fixed without surgery :(

I have a bit of loose skin and trust me it's not as bad as you would think. At the end of the day I would rather have loose skin than be obese and unhealthy.

The choice is yours my friends either be obese and unhealthy or have a little bit of loose skin and be healthy and fit.

Yes, agreed!

I have a good amount of loose skin already accumulating myself, and I still have a quite a bit to lose before I hit my goal weight, but this is nothing compared to all the health problems associated with morbid obesity.

Contour surgery is a bridge one may have to cross after significant weight loss, but for now, I'd just focus on losing the weight and maintaining the lifestyle.

One thing at a time :)

100% Agree with this. For me my loose skin doesn't bother me and I don't want surgery to correct it. Now I'm just trying to maintain and build muscle

Thanks for posting pics anyway, I guess It's a very good approximate for what I'll look like when I reach your current weight, I have the large tummy like you used to have and I think it's something I'll just have to make peace with.

Surgery is maybe a possibility way further down the road, I don't know yet if that's a route I want to take, I guess because of the cost probably not.

That is amazing! you look great! and I bet you feel great too! Congrats on the hard work! it really paid off!

Great work!! You had the same physique as I have today. I'll keep coming back to this thread as motivation. I'm sure you're are inspiring many people!!!!

Seeing things like this make me so confident about my own weight loss. I too am around 5'8". I'm currently around how you looked back in January and seeing that transformation really makes me want to continue my efforts.

Huge congratulations on how well you've done so far, best of luck in achieving any future goals you still have :)

I'm still amazed at people being inspired by my weight loss. When I see myself I still see the fat guy. I think I'm my own worst enemy >_<

I am a female gamer, I don't know if it made me gain but it for sure does not help me lose. I play WoW and wildstar. I am sure if my favorite activity was running instead of gaming I would look alot different . Right now I don't let myself play unless I have already worked out. Plus working out and needing time to cook has left me less time to game anyways, not to mention I work full time and I am a mom of three. Still it's my love,

And I have a new inspiration... you are officially my hero...this is where I drop the line "when I grow up I want to be just like you" :)

Inspiring. I'm same height 220 lbs. Just started dieting maybe I'll be popular in a few months too lol!
