Hello Hello,
I just stumbled across this amazing resource and community while surfing the web to find ways to improve my health as well as maintain focus by feeling supported by others. I have not been active since I finished high school 2.5 years ago and although I am not totally unhealthy, I want to get into better shape. I want to improve my quality of life and get into better habits that will create a very healthy routine to follow.
I am a woman of Filipino descent, 20 years old, 129 lbs., 5' 4". I just took the Fit-o-Meter test and it says that i have a BMI of 22.10. I am interested in improving my stamina and endurance, learning how to properly lift weights, and begin yoga and meditation to help focus my mind and de-stress.
My main goal is to stay motivated and establish a fun routine that will keep me healthy.
I'd love if any of you could point me in the right direction of getting started with improving my fitness.
Here's a specific question: I'm looking to join a gym for a few months until I move back to my university. The closest chains to me are LA Fitness and 24 Hour. Any suggestions, or advice that will help me choose the right gym? I am also looking into going to yoga classes at the local Yoga Center:
Thanks!!
