Teen Trying To Fight Flab

I am not even joking, your weight loss is nothing short of spectacular, them scales come down with such consistancy in each picture, you should be real proud of that brah! Well done good sir, i hope you reach your future goals with ease!

Thanks heaps, if someone told me back in January that I'd be on the verge of a healthy bmi by mid September, I would have laughed at them!

It's been brill so far.

Tonight's dinner, 62g of fettuccine (227 cal), 130g of pasta sauce (84 cal) and three slices of bread (212 cal).

A couple of yoghurt's before bed will bring my total intake up to 1505 for the day :)

88.8, down from 90.5 last Monday.

I've adjusted my goal weight, think I'll go to 80kg before concentrating on toning up with a bit more strength training.

I purchased them from Trade Me, a New Zealand based auction site.

Here's a link to them I've found on Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Salter-9036-WH3R-MaxView-Bathroom/dp/B001RCLGIA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1316405545&sr=8-6

Weight loss is off the agenda, for this weekend at least, having a few birthday drinks!

Measured my height for the first time in ages, found out that I'm about 6' 3" and a half, not 6' 2" as I had assumed, so I'm officially out of the overweight range :)

Still pondering whether to stop at 85 or 80, guess I'll decide when I get a wee bit closer.

Note to self, drinking, bad idea! Ah, I despise hangovers, and I hate getting maudlin as I always do.

Totally skipping my Monday weigh in, don't want to see the damage I've done. It feels really good to not be obsessing about the scale any more. A month or so ago it was a struggle to keep off of it every day but now I'm quite content about it all, once a week is fine and it keeps me sane. Don't have to deal with fluctuating figures, which is a plus.

Okay, contemplating the last 8 kilos, now that I'm out of the overweight range (I know, BMI isn't gospel by any stretch, but humour me) I think I'll approach this stage from more of a fitness angle.

I've been doing four days of running a week, I'll transition from the back yard to the streets and ramp up the distance (slowly, of course). I actually enjoy running, it's bizarre, okay it hurt like hell for the first few weeks but it's really fantastic now, my knees and ankles don't give me any grief and I don't feel ashamed to venture out in short shorts and a tight fitting top.

1500 calories a day has been a breeze for the last few months (in March when I was on 1800 it was a struggle to avoid going over my limit, now I have to force myself to 'snack' to hit my target, it's amazing how quickly our bodies adapt), but I know I have to improve my diet and start getting more veggies into my system, among other things. I'm a serial fussy eater, so it'll be a challenge!

I'm guessing that my maintenance intake will be somewhere in the region of 2000, so I'll start the transition slowly as I hit the last 3kg mark, even if that does mean it'll take six weeks to shift instead of three, better that than having to cram in an extra 500 calories a day really suddenly.

Once I've hit 80 it will be time to start weight lifting (never thought I'd ever say that!), would love to gain at least 5 kilos of muscle mass next year.

I love feeling content. Well, I love the feeling of being on the verge of feeling content. You know what I mean.

I've seen the '30 day challenge' floating about and I think I'll do it, would have made a lot more sense to do something like it a few months ago but I've still got a bit of my journey left.

I'll break with convention and answer a few at a time though, as I'm not a daily poster.

Day 02 - How tall are you? Do you like your height?

I'm 6' 3" and a half, edging closer to 6' 4". I used to be really insecure my height when I was obese, as I obviously stuck out like a sore thumb because of my size, but now that I'm thinner I'm starting to view it as more of an asset.

Day 03 - A picture of your fitspiration. What features do you like about this person?

Okay, typical 'blokey' answer, a footballer, Josh McEachran.

He's about the same age as me, and he's bloody fit, no other reasons apart from them.

Day 30 - 10 facts about you! And now, what are your stats?

Day 04 - Your greatest fears about weight loss.

I don't have any fears about it any more, but six months ago was a completely different story!

I absolutely hated being obese and I was desperate to get healthy, I'd never attempted to lose weight before so I didn't have a heck of a lot of knowledge to guide me, so naturally my biggest fear was that it wouldn't happen at all.

Thankfully it did.

New pants arrived today, quite excited, probably the first time in over a decade that I've owned something in size S!

Day 05 - Why do you really want to lose this weight? Are you doing it for you?

Absolutely, it's all about self confidence really.

After years of feeling like a clumsy obese giant, I just want to feel inconspicuous and normal in public.

Day 06 - Do you binge? If so, explain why you think you do.

Not any more, thankfully.

Day 07 - Do your friends and family know you’re trying to lose weight? Do they support you?

Yes, and yes.

Day 08 - Your workout routine.

30 minutes or so of running/jogging, four times a week.

AFirst off..congrats on your awesome success!!! I bet your family is so so proud of you. Secondly...that sandwich looks so freaking appetizing...lol. makes me want one!! :)

Thanks, with hindsight the 40 mls of dressing was a bit too much, so I'll be halving it in future and using 90 calories elsewhere.
