Hey Success,


Your average calories look kind of low. Have you gone through any calculations to see how many calories you're going through during the course of a day? Looks like you might be creating some serious calorie deficits especially on your low calorie days.


Calculating your BMR and then figuring out average activity level to determine what to multiply that number by will help give a better idea how many calories you body is going through on an average day and then let you figure out where to be setting calorie goals. The dizziness is a good indication that your body might not be particularly happy right now.

Hope u feel better. Feeling dizzy is not a good sign. The same thing happened to me last year I was working out most days and only taking in about 1000calories or less. I def wasn't eating enough and was told to up my calories especially on gym/workout days. Could also be a sign of high/low blood pressure or just lack of sugar.
U are doing really really well but just be careful. Losing weight is great but not at the expense of ur health. If the dizziness continues please see a doctor. We don't want to see u unwell x
 
You guys are all so supportive! I couldn't be more greatful :) I definitely am going to start bumping calories while I cycle them. Maybe I am eating too low an amount! That was the first time i've felt dizzy since my diet hopefully it doesn't happen again. Thanks again guys! Feeling gooder, size, jenny, ski bunny! :cheers2:

I'm going to find 200 more calories somehow! Just because I want to make sure this cycling thing really takes effect.

I'm sure you will get this calorie thing figured out, and I agree with everyone else...dizzy is not a good sign, so keep your calories up to a point where your body can still function in a healthy way! You're making good progress...when you stick with it, make good food choices and keep up the exercise...the results will come! I promise..I can't promise timing (it will always take longer than you want, or you plan!), but I can promise results will come.. Keep up the good work!

I was thinking about the anxiety of calorie cycling last night, I had a high day, like 1700 and I was flippin freaking out for a few minutes but then it dawned on me that its just natural that if you have high days you compensate with low days. Our bodies are smart, they'll figure it out. Hope your high day didn't cause you anxiety.
 
Thanks Sarah and Thank you Old school. The encouraging words from you are always helpful sarah, I'm trying to hang in there. Old school, no anxiety until last night... I had ANOTHER high calorie day instead of the 1,200 i was supposed to eat :( I've been falling off the wagon...


Didn't even update what I ate in my diary. I think writing what I eat in here really helps me stick to my diet. But I didn't do it last night because I literally went off and did not count calories. Bummed out about it and I was anxious all night, couldn't sleep. Worked out at 4 am, and then fell asleep.


I'm a little bummed but going to make sure today is a 1,200 calorie day. Tomorrow too.

Take things 1 day at a time, sometimes, one moment at a time. Congratulations on getting back on with a good day! Every day isn't perfect for any of us...we all have ups and downs...like Oldschool said, our bodies are smart..it figures it out! Keep your focus and do some brisk walking to get yourself back in a good mood (exercise always does that for me!).

Brawny's diary has made me want to set an exercise goal!


I haven't been on the elliptical in a month. I need to get back on. Going to start with a smaller goal and say that I want to get on the machine at least 3 times this week.

You are right...small steps! I certainly didn't start this journey with what I'm doing now...when I started exercising seriously back in June 2011, my treadmill speed was something like 4.5 km/min and I had to wear spandex something to keep my legs from chaffing, and I couldn't do more than 30 minutes on level without my feet really hurting and being out of breath... With the elliptical it took even more time! 3 times a week maybe 10 minutes/time will be a challenge...don't over do it at first, let your body tell you when it's adjusted..you'll know! I highly recommend getting an ipod and making some play lists for 10 minutes of some peppy music...something that just screams "MOVE"! I have several playlists in various lengths on mine now..15 min, 30 min, 45 min 1hr. All with "MOVE IT" music...some of them I don't particularly like...but they make me move! Looking forward to following your continued success!

Thanks so much Sarah! I am always impressed when reading your diary w/ how many calories you burn daily! It's insane, but I agree it takes some time to build up to that. I can only hope to be able to one day! Also agree about the music. I used to have a play list for my ipod but ever since I got a new one I haven't had it anymore, and when I do work out I waste so much time kind of slowing down to skip songs...really a waste of time! I'm going to add building a play list to my week goals.

Got on the treadmil today for 45 minutes...didn't go fast, watched the CNN debate while on it, but getting on there was a start.

Walked for 35 minutes after getting off.
 
Wow, Success...you're really not eating alot right now and exercising alot...I don't count calories, but it sure doesn't look like alot to me! Good job on your consistency...I'm betting the next official weigh-in will show some progress...even more than the 10 pounds so far!
