good morning all...i am finally starting to feel more like myself. phew. i didn't do cardio all week and feel flabby but otherwise, my head is clearer and i am doing my best to not beat myself up for have the week off of cardio - there is NO way i could have done anything, so back on the wagon BIGTIME as/of today...yesterday is officially 8 weeks to my wedding day!!

crazy b/c while i was sick, i was focusing on getting better and sleeping and writing down my food (but not with calories attached) and went to plug everything in this morning. I felt like i was overeating this whole week and it came out interesting...

4/13- 1029
4/14- 1269
4/15- 966
4/16- 1027
4/17- 1612

I found that quite interesting b/c it was sort of a test of eat whatever...just get healthy and i had no clue i was UNDER 1200 for a few of those days..

anyways, back in action and ready to get fit fit fit!!!!!!!!!!

Skyler, I'm glad you're back and feeling better! Start slow with exercise(lower intensity and shorter time), and by the time you're done see how you feel. If it feels ok, you can do more, if not - stop! Test out waters first. Sometimes it takes body to shake out illness completely a little bit longer.

Congrats on your good eating choices! Its interesting that you're staying low in calories on your own. That means you formed a habit to eat moderately, and that's great! Also, when you're sick your appetite is naturally reduced, that's why you might have felt like you were overeating.

Glad that you're back!
 
good morning. yesterday calories came in at 1170. not sure what my issue is here. i have been eating to fullness and consciously snacking on almonds and protein powder to up the calorie intake. i dont know. i weighed in this morning after taking last week off (due to being sick) and i am up 2.5 lbs. :( I hope it is water (or lack there of as I only drank about 40oz yesterday total). could that be it?? Based on my caloric intake while i was sick, i shouldn't have gained 2.5 lbs!!! Yes, I did not exercise, but it just doesn't make sense??? Anybody have any idea what is up!??!! Last night, i had class so i was walking around for 2 hours...not sure what that burns but i was sure tired! I managed to get up this am and do 45 minutes on the elliptical. It felt great to be doing cardio again..

i guess my question is that i was working within 'maintenance phase' while i was sick...and my calories were ok...and i gained weight? how can that be? maybe it is water. maybe my body is confused by being sick and sleeping SO much? anybody have any insight - ntl, maybe, as i know you battled sickness for a while - but this was only a week!

frustrated b/c it takes so long to lose 2 lbs..i really hope i didnt gain by being sick...or maintaining not working b/c then what? when i am truly ready to maintain??

Hey girl.. glad you're feeling better. Don't worry about that evil scale, I am sure its just water.. and probably your body trying to readjust from being sick. You're doing fine!
 
Hi, Skyler, I seriously doubt that you actually gained 2.5 lbs of fat over a week. I think that your body is retaining water first because of sickness and secondly because of not drinking enough yesterday. When you were sick did you drink more water or less? When you're sick you need to drink more because you tend to sweat a lot more. If you were drinking about the same your body may be holding on to water. I think you need not worry about it and give your body a week to normalize its processes. Don't think about this, and weigh yourself in a week, I think you'll be back to normal.
 
thanks guys...when i was sick, i was probably drinking about the same amount of water b/c yes, i was sweating alot (gross, i know). so maybe yall are right and my body is trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I definitely didnt drink enough yesterday either so hopefully you guys are right.

So yesterday was good. Got in my elliptical 45 minutes super early am and calories came in at 1222...also went shopping after work and walked a lot AND i am offiicially back to my old size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!! it was actually fun to shop. imagine that!
 
AWESOME! YEAH! I am very happy for you too! It must feel wonderful - being your old size! Good job on exercise and calories too. Oh, yeah, and Super job on cheering up your weight loss buddies. ;)

yesterday was a good one....calories came in at 1208, had plenty of water, and did pilates for an hour as well as walked for 1/2 hour during lunch break :). SO excited it is friday!!!!!!! Ready to rock this weekend ;).
 
hey all, my computer is fixed at home :) hooray!! so, figured i wouldnt wait til monday to update my weekend so far...and hopefully it will help keep my weekends in tact! i've been getting a lot of advice to eat more than 1200 calories - not too much more but 1300-1400 (some even said 1500, but i'm not there yet!) especially on exercise days (b/c of the amount that i do), so yesterday was day 1 of trying that..we'll see...i'll probably go up and down (never going below 1200) and going up to about 1450. So, yesterday, i ate 1430 calories and ran for 55 minutes with my dogs through trails and hills (it was so beautiful outside!!) & it felt great.

this morning, i took a spinning class and a pilates class. that was really fun. then i cleaned the house (crazy-like --washing walls and stuff) for 3 hours so i'm thinking that i burned some major calories today. :) there is a little more cleaning that i want to do and then i'm calling it quits for now. i've only eaten 400 calories so far so i'm thinking sushi & wine for dinner - we'll see!! hope everyone is having a great weekend!
 
Sounds like you got tons of exercise in today! Very good job! Cleaning house wipes me out big time! Sounds like you need to fill up on calories - enjoy sushi and wine!
 
saturday ended up being about 1400 calories when it was all said and done which i am glad about. i'm having a hard time admitting that i may need to eat MORE to lose MORE but i am trying to make that mentality work. the scale still is not budging (other than up?!??!?!). i feel like that is the story of my life. this takes FOREVER no wonder you see people losing motivation, quitting, and forgetting about their goals. dont worry, i'm not doing so, but it is amazing to me how fast you can put on pounds and how SLOW it is to take off 1/2 of one. ugh. anyways, it is TOM so i dont know what is the "truth" with the scale. i never know the truth with the scale, but i think i retain water before and during so i am going to try and stick to my plan and hope that next week or so, the extra pounds it says i am carrying is either water or muscle. i've been exercising a ton and eating right, so i cant see gaining 3 pounds...i really hope not. i do feel like i am retaining water so i truly hope that that is it!?! i read an article that said you can weigh4-5 pounds heavier during TOM. who knew?? not to psyched this a.m., but hopefully that is all it is....

anyways, yesterday was good other than i did not drink enough water and supplemented the water for wine! maybe that is why i am retaining water as well??

calories came in at 1270 and i walked for 2 hours...today is monday..hopefully it is a smooth one..and i have pilates tonight (hooray!).

i really want to drop at least this extra weight by this weekend and i dont see that happening..i am going out of town (back to my old neck of the woods) and i want to FEEL THIN. i need to focus that these people saw me 22 lbs heavier and 10 inches wider....and they wont know that i am within TOM and 3 lbs supposedly heavier right now! somebody slam that into my head!!

Lol..Trust me my dear they will SEE those 10 inches missing and those pounds.. :) Only you can probably feel that water gain! ;) You'll wow them all of course! Heck I have seen your pics, you are SOO TEENSY!!! :D I am impressed!

And you're up gosh awful early..5am! Eek!!
