Skyler's new diary

thank you dana...you are too sweet!!!! i wasnt up at 5am..something wrong with the time on my posts, i guess..;)

i know - i think what would i tell others? you can barely SEE 3-5 lbs...but you know how it is...always your hardest critic is yourself!

Skyler, I think I am starting to have exact same problem as you! I'm gaining muscle (evidenced by the inches lost), and the weight thing keep fluctuating just around 135. Is this the HARDEST spot, or what? :) So, I think you should really stop judging your progress by weight, and start judging progress by inches. Even though you lost your original measurements, you can always start new ones. Measure yourself once a month, and you will be able to see progress regardless of Tom or not.

First of all, TOM, + wine + less water = HUGE water retention. Wine, as any alcohol dehydrates, and you need to drink additional glass of water for each glass of wine. TOM is a huge water retainer. What you need to do in next couple of days is drink TONS of water, keep your exercise up, and in a few days your body will release the extra water.

I agree with Dana - people will notice how much smaller you are, so don't worry about the impressions.

thanks NTL - hope you are right!! :) but yes, logically that makes sense but hard to stick to logic within this topic for some strange reason!! lol...

yesterday was fine...really trying to eat more which has been a challenge in itself..been aiming for 1400-1500 calories bc of the amount of exercise i do, that was recommended. it is hard to get in that mindset that that will help me lose but i'm trying to listen to the experts on this one...

anyways, yesterday came in at 1450....actually psyched b/c got surprised with a dinner out (yes, wine included) and didnt expect to come in that low with calories and it was very enjoyable :). also had an AWESOME pilates class last night...so overall yesterday was a good one..

Oh I couldjust give you some of MY extra calories from the last couple of weeks to build up yours. ;)

(Oh if only it was so easy!!)

You're doing great.. but you know that since I talk to you every day.. lol! You'll get there!!

Skyler, sounds like you're doing awesome! going from 1200 to 1400 should not be that difficult - it is only 1 extra 200 calorie snack, or 2 cottage cheese snacks. If you try to snack every 3 hrs, I'm sure you can fit them in! Also, eating more often will help with speeding up metabolism. But in a way you should be happy about this, because many people have the opposite problem. It is definitely going to be easier for you to maintain weight once you reach your goal.

Maybe I Should Up Cals A Few 100 Thanks For The Info Guys!!!

today was a pretty good day other than i forgot to set my alarm last night to exercise this morning so there was no exercise. i knew i had class tonight and errands to run so today is OFF with the exercise. too bad really b/c i would have enjoyed it as i am going away on thursday super early morning and wont get exercise until next tuesday! i'lll be walking a lot, that is my only savior. i am just trying to maintain through this week/weekend - that is FOR SURE!! calories were good today - came in at 1350. need some more water but very close to having a pretty good day. one more day and then it is VACATION for me!! :)

You're doing great! I hope you enjoy your vacation! You may be able to double up on exercise wednesday. Here's to good days! Don't forget to drink more water today!

yeah, there will be no way for doubling up on exercise today! i have pilates tonight (which kicks my butt) and have to pack and get ready to go out of town so that's that. weighed in this am and back down to my ticker so those 3 lbs were water retention (phew!). you guys were right. Thank you!!! So, if you dont hear from me for a little bit, it is bc i am out of town and will report back in on Tuesday most likely...have a great week/weekend.

Whoo-hoo! Awesome! You see, you should always listen to us and not worry. :)

Good luck with Pilates tonight. Sounds like you'll get plenty of exercise today then. Enjoy your vacation, we'll miss you!

Of course it was water, you goof!! :) Yep we are truly our toughest critics.. beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say! :)

Enjoy your trip. I am so excited for you and envious at the same time! I know you will have an absolute blast.. You better spill the details to me later!! :D

Thanks dana...I am a goof - you know that. Yesterday (wednesday) was good. I'm losing track of days and I am not even officially at my vacation destination yet!! I think it is needed. I am going to try to writr down what I eat out of curiousity as how I do being lax. We shall see. So yesterday came in at about 1300 calories, an awesome pilates class (my belly + arms are already sore!!) And lots of water. Weighed this am at ticker weight and satisfied as I did eat chinese food last night and I feel like that food lingers for a little while longer than "clean foods".

Looks like you're doing good! Good idea on writing things down, it will help knowing how comfortable you'll be with maintenance later. Make sure to keep drinking water, that's the hardest thing to follow when your routine gets out of whack.

Enjoy your vacation!

i'm back

Okay...so, i have been in new orleans at jazzfest since thursday. it was an interesting learning experience in a lot of ways...first of all, i didn't pay attention to calories (just eyeballed stuff), drank WAY too much and danced a lot! the food at jazzfest is amazing but there is barely anything "diet friendly" so I went with the attitude of just having fun and not gorging but not worrying. i did write down what i ate and drank and interestingly enough, i ended up averaging about 1350/day. YEAH!! it was not "good for you" food nor was there any extra exercise but i paid attention to if i FELT hungry or not and stopped when i was full. That is exciting to know that I dont think I can physically eat as much as I used to as well as that i could pay attention to the hunger aspect. I am definitely back on the train today as i have one month until a friends wedding and then 2 weeks later is mine!! :D So, overall OK, i dare not step on the evil scale for a little bit but my clothes fit, I dont feel like a PIG and I am satisfied with my new found habits. it is really becoming a TRUE LIFESTYLE change and that is exciting. I feel empowered to lose those next 8-10 lbs as I know I can do it (eventually). I am exhausted - didnt get enough sleep either...continued to drink a lot of water though so just have to cetch up on sleep and I am hitting the cardio/weights hard again...hope everyone is well.

And THAT is the most important part! You are doing so awesome girl! Keep it up... you are going to be a BEAUTIFUL BRIDE! :D

Skyler, good job! Sounds like you had tons of fun, and you had exactly the right attitude! Way to go! I am really happy for you. I totally think that you have what it takes to get through the last few lbs!!!

Hi Skyler! I haven't checked on you in a while. Wow, you are really losing weight! Go girl! Yes, I agree, you are going to look amazing on your wedding day! Good for you. I hope you share pics afterwards!

good morning. let's see - not much to report other than yesterday i finally caught up on sleep from the crazy busy weekend. no exercise involved unfortunately (other than lunch walk) - same today as i have a wedding appt after work but i am dealing with a cough and feel okay to take a couple more days off! YIKES!! Back on the exercise wagon on Thursday for sure!! Surprisingly enough, torturing myself, i step on that even scale this morning (after a 5 day trip of eating/drinking whatever) - not sure what i was thinking (if at all) - but i lost 1.5 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Down to 134. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!
