Skyler's new diary

thanks newbride!!! for coming in and saying hello! looks like you are making some serious strides..i'll check out your diary later...and welcome back to you too! :)

hmmm...I'd choose to focus on number one, but my true advice would be to definitely change what type of long duration cardio you do. The best advice I could give you would be to find a spin class and start that up 4 times a week, it will kick your body out of it's slum! also, I was wondering how uping your caloric intake can allow you to lose weight during a pleatue????

if you keep your cals too low, and you lose weight, your maintence changes along with how many you are burning etc...apparently, if you keep your cals too low for too long(which i did), your body goes into starvation mode - fight or flight syndrome- having your body retain water, fat and anything else it can hold onto as it thinks you are starving and in a 'bad situation'. therefore, adding calories, calms your system, and lets it know you arent starving yourself, and as long as you deduct enough w/ exercise and eating (500 is best) from maintenance then you SHOULD lose...eat more to lose more..it took me a lONG time to get that one in my brain. thanks for your help.

Hey Skyler,
Welcome Back!

I would definitely say option one sounds reasonable. Also, are you calorie cycling? That might help the plateau'ing

it is a new month....142

so, it is a new month (almost) and i decided to weigh in monthly so today i did and i lost 1 lb. i am very happy with that. my weight loss has slowed and i didnt lose anythign the past 3 months so i am very happy about that actually. i also joined a gym so i am ready to continue to lose through november!!! :p

You know what I've been thinking about...joining a spinning class. I love Curves but now that I feel more confident about sports and stuff, I want to do somethign more physical...more like a sport, ya know. I looked into it and am trying to see if one of my local Ladies Only gyms will let me try out a class for free...I still don't want to work out with me, even though I am a tad bit more comfortable in my own skin. I don't know if I ever want to do the co-ed gym thing....but anyway. Just wanted to share. :)

so funny~are you reading my mind? i just joined a gym and they have free spinning classes and i almost almost almost took one today. i'm seriously considering it but yeah, it is co-ed and for some reason bugs me more than some other classes. not sure why. i think i just need to take a class ;). funny that you were saying that as well. i also decided i need how to do pullups and tricep dips unassisted ...always wanted to play on the monkey bars!

Its funny, because co-ed spinning classes bug me too. The guys in the class give me the heebie jeebies. Sorry guy spinners. If you want me to change, then some pump iron with the men.
