Skyler's new diary

Hey girl, just wanted to let you know I went running AND on a bike ride with FH. :) Thanks for ALL of your support today. I really needed the pep talk!!

yes red, i am busy - it is crazy, try to calm down on plans and they just keep coming and it gets hectic!! yesterday wasn't very good for me but i am really not feeling well (cough/sore throat/cold) which give me no energy at all so i've been trying to sleep it off. yuck!! i went out to eat last night with my mom and came in at 1550 calories (with wine included so i guess not horrible, but definitely not the 'diet' plan).

I think that the news of my measurements are working against me (kind of). It is odd - i wanted to know and now that i see success - physically with close loose and smaller inches, i get the mindset of 'maybe i should just maintain where i am'. i guess i cant decide if i should lose more (and keep checking the scale that terribly lies to me) or if i should focus on toning, etc b/c i am DYING to see muscles...

being in this confusing state....it is making it harder to motivate b/c i dont know what my goal is right now - i really need to figure that out!! so, that is my venting for right now..hopefully i feel better and can think clearer and can figure out what i am supposed to do...

Hey chica. :) Been emailing you already this morning.. gosh what time do you get into the office anyhow? ;)

Anyways!! I think mainly you should just focus on what you want your next goal to be.. maybe its not watching the scale move anymore, maybe its seeing some muscle definition instead! :) I know you can do it ;)

yes, dana, i think that may be my goal but i also feel like i can't LET GO of being below 130..i dont know why - crazy, i guess!!

i'm sure with more muscle definition, the pounds may drop as well, so ahhhh!! gotta figure this one out!

Skyler, I just have to say that the little number of the scale has absolutely no meaning!!! Think about it. It will vary greatly due to muscle vs. fat vs. water body composition. If you look great, you look great period, and it does not matter how much you weigh. The ONLY reason we use scales for measuring our success is because in most cases, especially when we are starting out, lbs fall off faster then inches do. In your case it is not necessarily so, because you're building muscle with all that exercise. Your inches will also go faster now because you don't have that much fat left to loose. So, I think that concentrating on toning and tracking your INCHES will be a much better plan for motivation rather then thinking about the scales or what you weigh. Because when you see a beautiful toned and fit body you don't think "hmmm, do they weigh below 130 or above 130?" You just know that the person looks great and that they are healthy, and that's all that counts!

I just have to add - don't make any decisions while you're sick. Wait until you are well. It is incredibly hard to find any motivation or energy for weight loss when you're sick, believe me, I know! So concentrate on getting well, and then you'll decide! I have a feeling your motivation will return pretty fast!

you guys are very funny. tag teaming me!! :)

you are totally right though. i feel terrible. terrible cough/cold/breathing, everything - i can barely move, never mind exercise, so yes, i am on an exercise break. it is very hard for me but i need to get well first, so that is the current plan :(

thanks for checking in

Morning chica!! I just want to thank you in here, for all the work and effort you put in every day this week to support me, pick me up, encourage me and motivate me!! Esp. when you are feeling so cruddy yourself! You rock!! :) What a true friend!!

i need to not post these daily confessionals as of now b/c i am sick & it is only depressing that i cant exercise...i guess the only reason i am writing this is so when i am acting LAZY but I CAN exercise and am not sick, i can give myself a kick in the rear & remember how I WANT TO EXERCISE !!

reminder of what i am keeping track of (for when i am better!)
exercise -
calcium and multi -
4 ripped fuel -
water -
aiming for 10,500 steps -
arm exercises (ball & pushups)-
ate ____calories

Hi, Skyler!
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Take it easy and get lots of rest! If you feel too tired to exercize while you're sick, don't exercise, and don't feel guilty about it!!! :) ;) Also, make sure you start slowly when you recover, because it is easy to overdo it.

Take care of yourself!

doesnt being sick just piss ya off? sure does me...when u feel better, youll probably kick butt just because youll be so happy you feel good!

hang in there, itll pass!!

Just wanted to pop in here and let you guys know that Skyler went home for the day from work earlier today. And she doesn't have to work tomorrow, so I hope this means she'll be off getting PLENTY of rest!! :D

Thank you all. Yes, as NL said I left work yesterday at 10.30am bc I just couldn't see straight or focus. I ended up sleeping for FOUR hours, I guess my body is tired!! Was able to sleep a full nite last night as well drinking lots of fluids and soup. Hopefully I am on the upswing of this bug and can kick some butt next week. But, NtL you are right and I will not go overboard or feel guilty!!! This whole deal is to get healthy anyways so I am not going to spoil that!! We'll see how the weekend goes. Thanx so much.

Also, NL- you better know I'm behind you regardless of my sickness....we need somebody doin' cardio, right?!?!

Happy Easter + Passover all....hopefully you hear from a healthier skyler next week!
