Rubber_duckie diary

Sorry I haven't written during my holiday, been super busy. I have always intended to come back but its just that diet went out the window in the last 3 weeks and it was a bit pointless writing down all of my failures. Well I am back on it as of this morning, I got on the dreaded scales knowing that I have probably put on a fair bit of weight and now I have reset my ticker back to 163 pounds. Very disappointed with myself but trying not to dwell on it for too long. It makes my birthday target impossible but hopefully I can lose some before then. Goals for the diet

1) Count all calories and post every day
2) At least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables
3) 2 litres of water a day
4) Exercise 30 minutes each day

Am back to my regular work schedule so I should be able to control my food intake more and also am on my feet all day so should add to exercise total. Hope evrybody has been doing well in my absense and I will try and catch up on all the diaries in the next week or so.

Good for you being back on the wagon!

So you had 3 weeks diet free? easy on easy off! you will loose it in no time :D

I am hoping so!

Have set myself a little challenge to get me motivated (see bottom ticker) Going for 12 pounds in 5 weeks for my birthday party. This is a little over ideal weight loss for me but I think I may have some water weight which should come off quite easily early on. If I manage it, I will still be the lowest weight that I have been in a long time and will have something to show off to my friends that I haven't seen for a while.

Hey Rubber Duckie! I am glad you are getting back on the wagon!!! You've admitted your mess up and are prepared to start over! I will cheer you on everday to help you reach your birthday goal!! What day is your birthday? It will be great if you can get there... what a wonderful present for yourself!! Well I'm happy you are back!!! I've missed hearing about your life but mostly I've missed how you say things...ahhh your accent. :) Have a great day!!! :)

Thank you :) glad to be back on the wagon, and am serious about it all this time as well. No holidays to mess it all up! My birthday is 2nd October so exactly 5 weeks today. My boyfriend has promised me new clothes for my birthday so am hoping to have lost some inches by then. Very glad to be back on the diet although I did have a good holiday. Its surprising how easy it is to put on the weight, I thought I wasn't doing too badly, not eating out too much and eating the same as people who never put any weight on - weird really but I guess whats done is done!

Thanks for the support :)

My new weight in day will be Monday and I forgot to say that I am sticking with the 1200 calories as it did seem to be working before.

Forgot to add - I passed my exam - WOOHOO!! Wasn't sure if I could pull it off as I had missed 2 weeks of the block when I had appendicitis, but apparently I managed to do enough work and that part of the course is now behind me - bring on the next bit!!

Today is nearly over and have successfully got through the hunger pangs and eaten loads of fruit and vegetables. Finding it hard to drink the water but am sure I can get back into it.

Breakfast
None (bad start on the breakfast front - oops)

Lunch
Green olives and feta salad (200 calories)
Strawberries (56 calories)

Dinner
Chicken breast in peppercorn sauce (300 calories)
Low fat oven chips (130 calories)
Mixed farmhouse vegetables (100 calories)

Snacks
2 dried fruit bars (82 calories)

Total = 868 calories (332 for cereal this evening)

I am feeling good about starting back on the diet, and have had a talk with my boyfriend about ways in which he can encourage me and not tempt me (he used to buy me loads of sweet treats!) I am very serious about reaching my birthday goal and also to continue afterwards to reach my final goal in time for christmas and family reunions. I am also looking into making a total eating lifestyle change as it is clear when I am not dieting I am not eating properly and piling on the pounds quickly and easily. I really need to incorporate exercise into my daily life, and maybe keep a closer eye on calorie intake when I am just trying to maintain my weight.

Congratulations on passing your exam! I'm also on a birthday challenge, mine is Oct. 31. I've promised myself all sorts of things, a bellly ring, contacts, new clothes and bareMinerals make up! LOL Who knows how much of it I'll actuallly get, but I'm definitely getting the clothes and the belly ring!! ...that is, if I make my goal.

hehe All i asked for is clothes or vouchers so i can buy clothes.

My birthday is next friday (7th September).

Even the pants i bought a few weeks back are baggy as anything now.
The old clothes just HANG off me :/

Errgghhh! What a long day, I managed to stick to the right foods even though there was temptation everywhere. It was easier being out all day because I got to pack my own lunch and make sure I ate just what I had brought with me.

Breakfast
Earl grey tea (0 calories)

Lunch
Green olives and feta salad (200 calories)
Strawberries (56 calories)

Dinner
Sausage and mashed potatoes (395 calories)
Mixed farmhouse vegetables (100 calories)

Snacks
2 dried fruit bars (82 calories)

Total = 833 calories (367 for evening snack)

Been on my feet all day so not feeling up to much exercise but I may do later on when I have chilled out a bit.

great eating day! maybe you can fit some exercise in later but if you're too tired it's probably better to take a day off! Sorry you had such a long day...
:(

if you are only taking in 800-900 calories and not doing any exercise at all your body is going to go into starvation mode very quickly and you will just stop loosing weight.
Try making it 1200 and put some exercise into it.

If calories in = calories out then you wont gain any weight - its a fairly simple method to maintain the weight once its gone :)

Thanks for the support everyone, feeling really motivated at the moment. I managed a 3 mile walk last night so very pleased with that, although I really do need to make the exercise thing part of my life even when I am not dieting as I am sure it will help me maintain the weight I achieve.

Although I don't post my evening snacks I often have a slice of toast or bowl of cereal and some fruit which pushes my calories up to 1100-1200. I agree with you Wishes, I wouldn't want my body to go into starvation mode as all the hard work will go to waste. All I have to do now is concentrate on fitting the daily exercise into my very busy routine.

Thanks guys!

Good for you!
I know its tempting as hell to go lower and pretty easy to do, but its not worth it in the long run and doesnt teach you healthy eating really either i suppose lol.

Im so proud of you! :D
