For my Halloween costume this year, I had originally planned on a 'Deranged and Homicidal Bridesmaid' idea, even found a somewhat hideous bridesmaid's dress at a 2nd hand store for $7 a couple months ago. Not nearly as godawful as I would have preferred, but still not something I would be happy to wear if I was in a wedding. Then again, I think most bridesmaid's dresses suck anyway. I was going to find a mannequin head, put a veil on it, and paint up blood at the neck, and walk around carrying it and an axe.
Then I changed my mind. Decided I wanted to do something more risqué. Maybe not as original as my first idea, but something like a witch or a devil. Well, getting to the Spirit Halloween Store, and seeing the riding crop pitchfork decided me... devil it is.

Started looking through the devil costumes, found this one red dress that was simply smashing! Sort of victorian, sort of goth. Decided I'd need to fix the waist cincher I had made a few years ago to give it more of a dominatrix flair too.
In an email conversation with Colleen, I was telling her about my Halloween costume, so she sent me a some pics from hers a couple years ago. I simply fell in LUST with the boots she was wearing. Knee hi, black vinyl with red flames, 5" heels... instant lust! I found those and some plain black patent ones that I thought about ordering, but I've always had muscular calves, and even in my thinner days tight boots were a crap shoot.
So it was off to Sarah's Bare Necessities after work last night. Figured why not? My wonderful hubby gave me a gift certificate for Sarah's, and there were a couple other things I could look for while I was there. It was a good opportunity to see if the corset I was waiting for to come in had shown up too.
Let me tell you a bit about Sarah's. It is, first and foremost, a lingerie store. It carries bras & other undergarments up to 52 J, corsets, teddies, lace, leather, latex, vinyl, some clothing, costumes for Halloween and other occasions. On the other hand it carries various & sundry lotions, etc. and in two lovely antique armoires in the back of the store... toys. Lots of toys. Just discreetly placed in the cabinets instead of all over the store like other similar establishments. Next to the armoires is a glass cabinet with a few different B&D & fetsih goodies. Nothing hardcore, just some collars, cuffs, a mask, etc.
They had the boots I was lusting after too. Decided to try them on just in case they would actually get around my calves. AND THEY DID!!!

I'm going to need to practice walking in them so I don't break my head while wearing them. But oh my GAWD are they sexy!
I also picked up a really cool waist cincher, so I don't need to fix the one I made. Laces up in back, and has a zipper on the side. Made my stomach look FLAT!! Gave me some pretty awesome curves too.
Rounded it off with a narrow leather collar with a ring in the middle of it. Gonna probably find some red fishnets to wear over black stockings, and I have some black leather lace up wrist gauntlets. I picked up a red & black crazy Goth wig that I was planning on restyling and adding more black length to, but I'm beginning to lean towards a more 'Lady Heather' type of look. It would mean figuring out how to attach the horns in my own hair if I go that way, and figuring out how I want to wear it... probably upswept. I don't know yet. Have to alter the dress a bit too, I want it to be backless.
My husband was properly stunned when I modeled my purchases last night.

Rendered him speechless. Its funny because I got a text from him this morning saying he realized he didn't convey how awesome I looked in my purchases from Sarah's. That's ok honey... your look spoke volumes.

I'm going to tower over him by about 3" in those boots.
So here's a pic of the boots, and the dress. I'll be posting pics after Halloween too.
