Older, Wiser, but still fat...

I do my best to have fun as often as possible! Thanks for coming by! I used to have like this really huge journal before, but this one is a bit more manageable for now. I'm sure it will grow to ginormous proportions again at some point... as long as it grows and I shrink, its all good.

as for food diaries...i'm such a slacker at heart that i just add whatever else i've eaten to it...& end up with the extra stuff just written in the margin. i just rebel at any kind of structure...for eg. saying only going to eat this/this & this for today etc...just makes me want the things i've told myself i'm not 'allowed' to eat today...if that makes any sense...anyway is it even possible to rebel at yourself??? hmmmmm that doesn't sound too healthy in itself :confused: :)
 
Okay my eating today was good, if not actually just a bit low overall. Total calories 2740, 119 g protein, 85 g fat, 338 Carbs. Need to be more conscious of my ratios. With my working out I should be a bit higher on the rpotein, a little lower on the carbs, the fat was actually not too bad.

I don't really tell myself eat this or eat that. What I'm trying to get my mind into the habit of doing right now is keeping enough of a running tally that I can look at something, and decide if it is worth it to me to spend my calorie allowance on it. I have a fair allowance (I'm 6' 8"), but if I can eat a yogurt instead of a bowl of ice cream...

I might maybe shouldn't have cycled yesterday... my ankle started off sore today. It feels good now though, so no harm. I'm gonna try and get some more mileage in tomorrow. Happy weekend!!! (gonna spend some time with the man?:sifone:)

Today I had to go into work early, so I didn't really have time for exercise (normal for friday anyhow). My ankle was still a little sore, might have overdone it just a bit with the bike ride yea=sterday, but now, at the end of the day its good. I'll try and do more tomorrow. Plan for tomorrow is an upper body pull split, followed by a minimum of 16 miles on the bike. If I can find the time, I'd like to get about 25 miles done.

My plate for today: 2778 calories, 363 g carbs, 100 g fat, 120 g protein.

I've been staying around my alloted calorie range, but still need to change the quality of food. The last couple of days I've been on the run, so a lot of eating has been restaurant/prepared food. That should change after tomorrow.
 
Good morning so far in most respects. The ankle is still feeling the need for a brace, actually finally saw thattere is a good sized bruise on it too. I am doing my nest to use it anyway, but with support.

Did the pull split this morning at the gym. Guess I won't be doing a lot of leg workouts soon. I'm thinking 355 lb rack pulls might require more support...

Walked for 35 minutes this morning, and will do a short bike ride in about 20 minutes.

Then I gotta go drive my taxi.
 
there is a one a day boob sticker...you get one for everyday you post your food...if you did good or bad..the idea is to JUST POST TRUTHFULLY so you can see where you can start saving cals...so yes..and they will progress so you someday will look like this

So far today my calories are in the negative category. I'd have to be a colossal screw up to mess it up now... (it could happen).
 
Saturday was okay, my total calories were 3068, 130fat :ack2: , 300 g carbs and 130g protein. Given my exercise level, this was acceptable, daily plate says I had a net intake of just over 2000 because they are scoring the exercise at about 1000 calories total. I'm not buying it, but I'll give it at least 500 calories worth.

Sunday started out well, but went bad fast. My wife was being a little mopey until I asked what was up? She wanted to go to our favorite local place for the mother's day brunch (which we did), and of course.. it turned out badly for me...

Never, ever go to a buffet of that quality if you are trying to lose weight...

My ankle got tweaked again just a bit on Saturday while driving cab. I'm starting to get frustrated with it now. I can't do a full on bike ride until it heals the rest of the way and its making me nuts...
 
Ooo Buffets are always risky aren't they! But hey, at least you took your good lady wife out for Mother's Day! I think a lot of us fell over this weekend :p

Bummer about the foot, that must be very frustrating!

I just went through my food for yesterday, and I was not as bad as I thought. 2815 calories, 132 g fat, 134 g protein, 201 g carbs. Too much fat and I was right at the top of my calorie range for a rest dy, but all in all, it could have been worse.

I weigh in later today, so we'll see how it went this week.
 
I had a rough eating day yesteday too!! i hear ya. I started with the crappy food..... and then just figured whatever... might as well enjoy it hehe.

hey yeah aren't those buffets a killer. Mine was chinese and like the best ever lol. I hope you did better than my 3 trips up there. I hope the ankle starts feeling better soon. I need to get my butt up to the gym today. Gotta work off all the delicous weekend food lol. I'll talk to ya later.
 
Well, one week may not be an terrific indicator, but it seems like the tide is turning.

I had used an assortment of different methods to arrive at my calorie range, then used them as a guideline. The plan was to shoot for a consistent 2 lbs per week loss, assuming I'm being honest with myself. I have been honest, I logged all my food, even on the bad days.

I lost 2 lbs!

So, if I can do this consistenty, I should be good.
 
Kick ass job!!!

I always love seeing people losing weight despite go to a buffett (or other "normal" things) and still enjoying themselves. And that loss was with an ankle that isnt 100%.


Great night for the local sports teams last night. Hopefully, the B's can keep it going.
