Stress is crazy right now at work. I have worked for the same company for 22 years now. The business is so slow now that they have "offered" buy out packages to employees who qualify. I don't (which I consider good on some levels, I certainly could not afford to go at 44 years old...). The down side is that the verbage was strongly suggesting that if not enough people take the package that there will be, lemme see if the wording is correct, "involuntary workforce reductions".

Today so far has been good. I have about 1000 calories left for the day, which will mostly get used up with dinner etc. so, no problems.

Had an interesting work out today. I went into the gym without a plan, other than upper body push, so I decided to play muscle confusion and hit a bunch of different exercises.

Flat bench, 4 x 5 weights ranging from 155 to 205
Close grip presses, 2x6 @ 105
skull crushers 2x8 @ 80
cable pushdowns 3x8 @ 150
dumbbell flys 2x10 w/30lb dbs
machine flys 3x5 @ 220
80 crunches, 30 - 45° back hyper extensions

30 minutes of walking @ 3 mph (ankle's getting better, I wasn't wearing a brace, but still not full speed)

Something different; because this gym is at a state college, they do their best to accomodate people with physical disabilities. This is the only gym I've ever been to with a hand cycle. Talk about activating your shoulder muscles! Cool part is that it can be used to compliment either a push or pull mode work out depending on how you decide to apply the power during your cadence. I spent 20 minutes on it.

altogether, 50 minutes of cardio, 30 of weights.

Fridays suck...
Not really, the weekend part is all good but, my week gets weird for a day.

I work third shift mon - thurs, then come in to work on friday at 2:00, so a second shift deal. sleep deprivation is fun...
Here is one of my issues. Since I work nights, and most tracking sites reset after midnight, Ive gotten used to calling my "day" as the period from midnight to midnight. Since I work nights, this means i restart my tracking in the middle of my shift. A little off, but not too mbad, as long as the net result is 24 hours of calorie counting and it all comes out right, no problem, right?

Think about this... I eat my meals from midnight to about 7:00 am. Now I get back up early on Friday, and start a new day, but not calorically. Calorically I'm still carrying the food that was eaten for the part of my overnight shift. So I start with a lower range for the day. Sure, I'm not up quite as long, but the cravings are still kinda there. My system gets all F'ed up and I have a tough time staying in my range for the day.

I did manage, just barely, actually ate really well in terms of macro ratios, but I'm sitting here now wishing I could go raid the kitchen and it sucks...

I'll live...

Anyway, did no exercise today to speak of (see aforementioned short sleep situation), so my range was maxed at around 2800.

I got 2805 calories, 91 g fat, 298 g carbs, and 230 g of protein. I'll call it in range, 5 calories over is not going to change anything.

BTW, Joseph's low carb Lavash wraps rock out loud! a whole piece is 100 calories, 2 g of fat, 10 g of protein, 14g of carbs, 6 grams of fiber, no sugars and they taste good.

No they didn't pay me...

Anyway, hope y'all have a happy! I'm only gonna be sporadic over the weekend so if I'll catch you when I can.

Today I drive taxi, so its hard to stay on top of calories. I figure its best to start the day with a good base though. So...

30 minutes of weights, followed by an hour of cycling @ 16 mph (that would be 25.8 kph for those who are not metrically challenged), so 16 miles.

According to daily plate I'm negative by about 1000 calories for the day having eaten about 800 already... I'm not buying it, but I will reset my calorie clock so to speak for the day as I'm pretty sure I've burned my intake so far, and will be up until about 1:00 am.

It should be a good day.

I did okay today. My total intake was 3250 cal, which should be just about right for a day with both resistance and cardio. Fat was high compared t protein, but that is probably because of a peanut butter craving I indulged in (at least its plant fat).

Hopefully tomorrow goes smoothly. I'd really like to see a drop this week again.
