Older, Wiser, but still fat...

Had a gooood weekend!!!

Okay if y'all are like this boy here, you can do okay all week but cave big on the weekend...

I didn't! I slipped just a bit on sunday, not by much (movie theater popcorn during Angels and Demons), but I kept it to a minimum. I even used the daily plate to track the movie popcorn (who knew?), and ended up with 2869 calories, 119 g of fat, 109 protein, and 348g of carbs. Not as bad as it could have been. about 69 calories over my self imposed cap of 2800 cal for a rest day.

Today I spent the morning cutting tree limbs and hauling brush up the hill behind my family's summer house :ack2: I feel like I hiked up a mountain now.

Anyway, I weighed in today ay 320, so I am down another 3 lbs from last week. I'm happy. My goal was 2 lbs a week and I've been tracking and following, while not restricting myself. If I want a donut, I eat it, but I track it, and pay for it either with exercise or smart eating elsewhere.

When is the WLF summer bash at the cabbie summer house? :beerchug: :beerchug:

Matt, I'd love too sometime! Someday I'll get shots of the place from the lake. You might know the area. It's just north of Dublin, NH (between peterboro and keene on 101) in the monadnock region. in fact you have a gorgeous view from the lake of the mountain framed between some hills. I will get up there and take a couple of pics someday. It has been in my family for 4 generations now.

Yeah well the gist of me is pretty easy... I'm this fat guy in his 40's that is desperately trying to lose weight and get fit the right way and having moderate success with it. A couple years ago I weighed nearly 400 lbs and smoked nearly 2 packs a day. Now I don't smoke. Instead I work out and cycle 40 - 60 miles a week. I'm also a father of 2 adult kids, a devoted husband of nearly 22 years and an incorrigible pervert with a sarcastic attitude.

pretty much everything else in my journal proves all that out... no extra reading assignments necessary:biggrinjester:

Hi cabbie, I wanted to check out your journal too and even though I didn't get through it all tonight, it sure looks to be a fun read! I didn't know you before you left, but I'm sure glad you came back to the forums. :)

So another goal reaching day? What this is like, a couple of weeks in a row now?

I ate 2914 calories, 93 g fat, 443 g carbs, 109 g protein.

After my morning of cutting and hauling wood, I still felt pretty good so I went to the gym and did some weights.

Ooh, and okay, many people will not probably appreciate this like I do but..

I did a few push ups today. The real kind, back flat, up on my toes, right down til my nose was just off the floor.

I have not done these since... never! Yup in high school, I ws skinny, but weak. as adult I've been fat and weak. Currently, I'm still fat, but much less so than before, and much much stronger than I've ever been in my life.

The whole push up thing is actually a freedom thing for me in some respects. No matter where you are, traveling, camping, whatever, you always have access to a terrific set of strength exercises, without a gym if you can do some basic ones, push ups being one of the fundamantals.

Pull ups are still a ways away...

Ahhhh..Goal Reachin'..My favorite motto! :biggrinjester:

You ARE Goal Reachin'. ;)

Doin' good sweetie, keep it up and don't lose your steam!

This walkin' with my sweet Ms. Debbie friend has really given me the Heeve-Ho Push. :biggrinjester:

It was soooo funny bc I was worried my long legs and quick pace would poop HER out.. It's the complete opposite!!

We walk at almost a jogging pace and she picked the path with all the inclines and hills..(don't get me wrong, It's what I need) but holy cow I have never huffed 'n puffed so much in my life!
Hahahahahaha!

What the heck is my point here?
OooO, stay motivated.. Hahahaha!
:D
Sorry, here lately I have been bad about hijacking diaries!
Just been a chatter-box!

Whelp, you take care hon..
Hubby is gonna rub my poor calves.
They are hurtin' I tell ya!

LOL

:party:Abt goal reaching weeks:party:Your doing far better than me my friend:party:

And I can so appreciate that push up comment thingy:)

They are fucking hard , I did them non stop in boot camp and I do them alot with p90x...

They are especially to do them properally, I can do a real push up but I usually wimp out and do girly ones!:smilielol5:

As far as pull ups I cant but if you have the bar you can wrap a resistance band around it and knell on one knee and pull duwn, it is simulating a pull up and works well. It is a p90 variation i do as im too afraid to use the chin up bar and scared, HA HA HA!!!

:Angel_anim:Thanx for your support recently:Angel_anim:Im gonna work on beign here more and spreading support:Angel_anim:

Stacy, you can hijack my thread anytime darlin', just so long as you keep bringing your smiling face back in here with it! Have hubby rub those calves. You sure your thighs aren't bothering you too? Maybe anywhere else he needs to rub?? :newangel:

Thanks Tru, I'm feeling all the time right now like this is a house of cards. I always start strong but I'm usually a poor finisher. One thing I kept telling myself when I quit smoking was that if I stuck with it long enough, the new habit would become ingrained and I would no longer miss the old one. It worked, and I'm trying to take the same approach.

Cerella, You have always been supportive to me, even when I didn't feel like I deserved it. Believe me, I'm more tan happy to stop by your place and say hi. The least I can do!

okay fine, I'm not fat, im just "fluffy":D And yes Josie, I do like to rub things... Oh thats right, I did offer you a booty rub didn't I? :newangel:

today's stats: Calories 2031, 84g fat 124 g protein, 230g carbs.

30 minutes weights 46 minutes cycling, 12.5 miles, 16 mph average.

Tomorrow is a rest day for weights, I might do a 25 mile ride.

I'm one of those people who constantly monitors the scale. Its bad of me to do, but I only take an official weight once a week, the rest is just me psyching myself out or up depending. It looks like things are moving down even from monday, but... I'll try not to get excited about it yet.

I cannot wait until I can do regular pushups. I still do the modified version against the countertop. I suppose I should give it a try sometime soon!

Great job!

I WANNA KNOW WHY I LOSE ONE MEASELY POUND EVERY OTHER WEEK AND YOU LOSE 3!!!!!?!?!?!?!? :cuss::icon_bs:

hahah, but in all seriousness way to go!!!! :) Wish i lost it that quickly!!!! :)
