Hey there! steak and salad sounds yummy too! Thanks for the encouragement...I like your catch phrase! :)

AWESOME stuff Mal!!! Thank you so much for pointing this out to me!! This ROCKS!

Calories: (1280 - 1630) 1,393

Protein: (32 - 143) 69
Sodium: (0 - 2400) 961
Fiber: (25 - 35) 23
Calcium (100 - 150) 38

I was a little low on my fiber...GOTTA do better, I'll be eating my All Bran tomorrow morning. Calcium intake was HORRIBLE! It seems like a lot of sodium that I'm allowed...glad I'm on the low end with that.

I've got some planning to do for tomorrow it appears.

it's really interesting when you see all those numbers.. planning out your day is like a puzzle some times :D i'm always amazed that they don't have fiber as a tracked ingredient by default... :D

Wow! I'm gone for a few days and you add about 20 pages to your diary and only have 4 more lbs to lose! You rock! I just have one word to say.........................SALSA!

Good to see ya! And thanks for the boost! *big hug*

Yea, I was too...once I started going through that list I thought the very same thing. Wonder why? Oh well, I'm tracking it now and my sodium too. Is it best to get as little as possible when it comes to sodium or just as long as I'm in the range....that's an awfully large range. Seems quite odd to me.

I notice i do better when my sodium stays under that range, but i have borderline high blood pressure, and a family history of heart disease and all that so it's something i've always watched out for.. but now really so, since i track everything... Ithink too little sodium isn't that great... but too much is far worse...

yours was impressively low.. :D I can only get that low if I use 100 percent fresh ingredients for everything...

I don't put salt on anything. I only get sodium when it's already in the food, you know the way its prepared by the company that sells it. To tell you the truth though I was pretty shocked that my sodium was so low...I get all freaked out when I read packages and see how much sodium is in stuff, seems like a lot to me at the time but I guess not.

I have tweaked and tweaked and this is the best I can do, trying to balance food gave me a headache. I had to add cookies to get my fat intake up! I couldn't believe it...everything else I tried make my carb count go up too high. I don't like my sodium intake but I don't exceed the limit...I'll work on that for Friday, I'm pooped now. This was harder than I thought. :(

good job.. I like that you just had to add cookies to up your fat intake.. like it's gonna be such a hardship to eat 3 chocolate chip cookies.. :D

well done lady,. you've got more patience with it than i do..

Hey there!
To quote Mal!
well done lady,. you've got more patience with it than i do..
Ain't that the truth? I know it is for me! Wowzers...... I get a headache just thinking about it! :O
Keep up the great work!

Mal, HB and Want-a-Be,
It took me WELL over an hour to get those numbers semi-decent!! I was getting so frustrated and TIRED!!! And for the record the 3 cookies are Toll House minis, I don't get 3 regular sized cookies...but hey, a cookie is a cookie! :D

I kept plugging in this food and the carbs would go up but the fat and calcium would remain still. I was about to scream trying to figure out what I could add to get my fats and calcium up when I said...."CHOCOLATE." I thought my fat grams were gonna go through the chart when I added it, but pleasantly enough it didn't. So, I'm really looking forward to being able to have cookies and milk (silk for me) with my daughter after dinner during our reading time!

But really, I wish I had known how hard it was gonna be before I started trying to set that up for today! Talk about frustrating!!!! I'd better start now for today! lol In retrospect though, it's probably best I didn't know or I wouldn't have done it! :p

Have a great day everybody!! :)

Oh...forgot to add, I only brought 73.8 oz of water to work today, accidently left the bottle I was drinking at home this morning on the counter. I got about half of that 16.9 oz bottle down before I left and forgot to bring it with me....arg!

Good Morning!! Sorry setting up your meal plan was so aggravating! :( Glad you did it though AND you get to have some cookies!!! :) Have a great day!

Hey girl!
Maybe it'll be easier next time. I need to get a better understanding of the fat, sodium and calcium intake of the foods I eat and then it will be easier to "eye ball." I'm pretty good with guessing at my calorie intake because that's what I always look at on containers. But I'll tell you I'm guilty of misunderstanding the importance of fat. I had pretty much eliminated (to the extent possible anyway) the fat in my diet, but now I see that my body really does need a certain amount to keep me working properly. So I'm glad that I went through that frustrating task...it helped put some things in perspective for me.

After all is said and done, it's pretty darn cool to look back at it! :D So don't let me discourage you from trying it out, the information is really great to have.

Have a great day yourself!

Ohappy, I just read your first diary entry. Our stories are a little alike.

My weight crept up in the couple of years after my daughters' births. Prior to that I'd had a great metabolism and could eat anything. I started Curves, then walking, then strength training.

I'm a little older and got a little higher in my weight than you, and a am little shorter. So all told I have a little farther to go than you. But it's close, and I can relate to you trying to lose those last pounds and wanting to make lasting changes.

You are approaching this in such a healthy way. Having changed your food choices, taking in water, and actively involving your daughter are all great lifestyle changes and it's motivating to read. Thank you!

Posting your intake+desired range for Calories, Fat, Carbohydrates, Protein, Sodium, Fiber, and Calcium sounds like a GREAT plan. I may have to copy it. If If I may say, you could look at the balance of your diet over a few days and not worry if each day doesn't add up exactly right. Also, avocados and nuts are a good way to get up your healthy fats with no added carbs.

Well I am glad you figured it all out and got to understand the importance of fat. Now that you are going to get your diet really in order maybe your last 4 lbs will just FALL OFF!!! :D

Oh Patty, thank you SOOO much for that great advice!! I really appreciate it. Gonna have to pick up some almonds and/or peanuts soon...not sure how I feel about avocados but I'll try.

Don't you just LOVE Curves!! It's cool to know that our stories are so similar! Let's go get 'em girl!

Have a fabulous day!! :) :)
