my diary

Ah yes...typical!

Congrats on the poundage - can you believe you're only 8 pounds from your goal!! That is so great!!

Good Job, Crunchie.

Jelly Bellys appear to be what we call Gummy Bears in The States. They are shaped like bears instead...hence the name.

Hope you're having a great weekend.

I think they are slightly different, as I believe gummy bears are quite chewy (correct me if I'm wrong) but Jelly Babies are really soft and gooey, more like very set jello. If I start on them I eat the whole packet then feel sick :p :D

Wow Crunchie, 8lbs to go!!!! One more pound and that is just half a stone ... that's nothing!!! Eeek!! How exciting!!

It seems like every time I come to visit you, you're a pound less!!! Only eight more pounds.....that is phenomenal!!!! You have done so well, honey. You'll be getting to that maintenace stage soon, and then we're going to need your advice on staying at goal. We really need you!!!!

Yesterday wasn't fantastic but then I have a good excuse I think!

I normally wait until evening to go to thegym and as I was getting ready to go I got a call from my uncle. The conversation went as follows...

uncle Stephen: Are you going out tonight at all
me (being polite): no not really
Stephen: Is there any way you could come and take all our fish?
me: why what's wrong with them?
Stephen: Nothing but we have an infestation of bees or wasps or something where their tank is.

So I arrived at their house about 10mins before the exterminator arrived and had to take 19 fish home, get them settled between my two tanks and keep an eye on them for a while. Hardly surprising therefore that I did not get to the gym last night. As my calories were only about 1300 I don'tthink it'll be a huge problem.

Today I have a great big juicey tuna steak for my tea!:p

I apologise in advance if I'm lax on looking through other diaries today and tomorrow. I'll be leaving Scotland at the unholy hour of 6.50am to collect my boa constrictor in England and will not be back til late at night.:(

grrrrr well I didn't get my tuna steak in the end. I tried a recipe for it glazed in honey and some other seasonings but I didn't realise the honey would make it burn so badly in the grill. The sea gull chick we have on the roof (oh God yes it's another baby bird for me to watch out for) has just eaten the most fancy dinner its ever going to get I think.

I made pasta for my tea instead but that brought me over my calories a bit so I went out on my bike for an hour and I'm very glad I did. I decided to do a detour from my normal route and check out an eco park which is not far from me but I've never been to before. I got a great close up view of some song birds I'd never seen much of such as a wee meadow pippit and on the way back nearly ran over a deer that ran in front of my bike.

Tomorrow as I say I will be away much of the day however I will try to update my weight in the morning for the mid challenge weigh in.:D

Sounds like that burnt tuna steak was a blessing in disguise since it and its chain of events let you find something great you've never seen before :)

I think you need to try the tuna steak again sometime though, and this time use a lower heat so you can let us know how delicious it is - it certainly sounds good!

Travel safe with the snake... :)

Yesterday I think I can't even begin to write down everything I had though I was relatively good. I was travelling on trains nearly all day so I made up two brown rolls to take with me one on tuna and the other on cheese. I had a pear for breakfast which was a big mistake (should have had something decent).

Left the house at 6.30am to catch the train to Edinburgh
11am I had my first roll on the train from Edinburgh to York
At about 2pm I had two 6" plain pizza with the lady I was buying my snake from.
2.40pm I got back on the train to Leeds
2.41pm I checked to see if the snake was OK
2.43pm Checked to see if the snake was OK again
3.00pm Arrived in Leeds
3.20pm Got on train to York
3.55pm Arrived in York
4.25pm Got on train to Edinburgh
4.26pm Checked to ensure snake was OK
4.27pm Checked snake again... you get the picture!
5.00pm Had second roll
8.00pm arrived safely back in Falkirk and took snake home to show mum.

I'll try my best to list what I had, I know I didnt get enough water but it was so hard to do when travelling...

Pear
1 brown roll on tuna mato
1 x can pepsi max
2 x 6" mini pizzas
1 brown roll on cheese
1 x can diet irn bru
few handfuls of crisps mum and dad brought home
sandwich on vegi burger

I started my TOM today so not paying any attention to the scale until it's well and truely gone.

I'm very pleased with my wee snake too, he's quite the lovely.

Glad you and your snake got back safely. Don't worry about the food, it was not excessive and it is not a regular occurence, now you know for future when travelling to have a substantial breakfast! Keep up the great work and i hope you are having a good day!!
