my diary

You've only got 10 pounds left. One more pound and it will be in the single digits. You are doing fabulous!!!!!!!!

Oh and on a side note, when I go to do my crunches I always call them crunchies and then I think of you!!!

Wow, even more exotic pets. I can forgive you for treating yourself .... as long as you don't eat them :D

I agree with Cannon, you do have a very balanced approach to all aspects of this healthier lifestyle, and I am sure that is what is going to keep the weight off in the long run. I have always found it easy to lose weight, 2 or 3 lbs every week, but i have never actually stayed still at a lower weight for more than one day. I always pile it back on really quickly, 10 pounds in a couple of weeks easy. Maintenance is the hard part, but I can tell you are putting behaviour and habits in place that will mean that you can maintain without too much trouble.

Way to go, Crunchie, you are an example to us all!!

thanks for all the lovely messages everyone!

Yesterday was a bit of a disaster though somehow I've managed to be 0.5lb lighter than I was yesterday. I ate my main meal at lunch time (baked potato with a few fillings) thinking I'd be going swimming at night. When I arrived at the baths I found I'd forgotten my swim suit and by the time it'd take me to get home and get back I wouldn't have much time for a swim. So my net calories were somewhere around 1400 which is 200 plus what I'm supposed to have. Yesterday was therefore my "without exercise" day for this week. I'll either go for a swim or to the gym tonight I think.

EDIT: Oh forgot to say I'm wearing a shirt I bought ages ago with the intention of slimming down into it. It was rather tight so I never wore it but thats me wearing it to work now!

Wow, isn't that a great feeling. I have a few clothes that I'm very close to being back into myself. Its a real feeling of accomplishment.

That's great news, Crunchie! I was just wearing shorts the other day I haven't worn in more than 15 years (and yes, the style did happen to come back into fashion, lucky me!) I did have to chastise you for fantisizing about crisps in Hypo Hippo's diary though, watch it, missie!

Take care!

Today has been very good in terms of eats and exercise. I may well have over-estimated the take away baguette on egg mayo but you never know really do you.

I went to the gym at night and drank a huge amount of water throughout the day. Also at the gym I tried running on the treadmil again, easily done 12minutes going at 5mph which believe me is an achievement for me.

However the biggest achievement I think has been the fact I'm now looking at the fruit bowl for snacks instead of the biscuit tin and the crisps bin. There is a bag of 12 packets of crisps in the kitchen which have had 1 packet nabbed but have otherwise been left untouched. I honestly think that if this was this time last year all 12 packets would be gone and I'd be well into the next family bag by now. The best thing is is that I really do simply not want to eat them. I know they're there but I don't particulary want to eat them, I'm fine with having a slice of melon or some raw carrot now which is amazing.

I'm very pleased at being able to wear my nice black shirt again. I only ever wore it once before it was shoved to the back of my drawer (the material was straining horribly over my chest and stomach - was afraid the buttons were going to all ping off). However I wore it today and didn't even have to keep pulling the blasted thing down either.

Must start planning tomorrows meals now!:D

Fitting into old clothes is almost as good as getting brand new clothes - except their free too, so that makes them better!

You have done so well here, you only have 9lbs left to go on your goal, and you've made so many great lifestyle changes, you'll be able to KEEP it off! I'm proud of you Crunchie :D

yay. good for you Crunchie! you've really kept at it and now it's showing off.
Beagle is right... it IS better than new clothes. :p

That's awesome! That means you're successfully changing your tastes and lifestyle, which means you'll have long term success! Way to go!

Great work Crunchie!! I have a big pile of fruit and dried fruit for snacks, and its like you said, you just start to think of those as the only snacks now. I just thought, I haven't felt the need for ice cream in a while!! I had just sort of forgotten that it existed .... isn't that funny :)

You are doing so well, and not far to go now!! Keep it up ;)

I just realized that you are only 9 pounds away from your goal! That is awesome!! :D :D Way to go on only having one pack of those "crisps" and not touching the other 11. I know how tempting those things can be! Lol! ;)

Here's my food and stuff for yesterday. I was utterly spent when I went to do swimming, in fact I was struggling well and truely after around 40 lengths. I thought I'd do my mile (64 lengths) and stop but just as I'd finished the 64th two ladies got out in front of me so I wouldn't have got a shower (there are only 2 showers at my pool). So I continued on and did the 70 lengths, the insides of my thighs are a bit sore today but nothing like the aches I had last week so eating bananas must have worked.

I checked the scale today after breakfast out of curiosity and it said 144.5lb which is 2lbs less than it was on Monday. I said I wanted to loose 5lbs for the 2 week group challenge so hopefully I can manage that. As my weight was taken after I'd had breakfast though I decided not to count it on my ticker. I'll wait until tomorrow and update the ticker if need be.

Today I'm keeping my calories low and just doing gentle exercise.:)
