Momma4alex’s adventures in surprising my man….

Hey Heather,

You're doing such a great job! Keep up the work... forgot lunch? Wow... i wish I could forget lunch... because I workout in the morning I'm soo starving by lunchtime:rotflmao:

What is a reverse crunch?

Keep up the great work
~Jenna

hello

Hi Hajni and Jenna, Thanks for stopping by my diary.

To do a reverse crunch: Reverse curl
Lie on back with knees bent, feet on ground and arms at sides, palms down. Place a full water bottle behind knees, drawing feet toward butt to hold bottle in place. Keeping head and upper body glued to ground, bring knees in toward chest, raising hips a few inches off ground (as shown). Lower and repeat. Do 15 reps.

This majorly works the lower abs while your trying to keep the water bottle behind your knees and your upper body on the ground but relaxed too.

I had major burning in my abs by the time I finished doing all of them. I found a 5 min ab workout on youtube.com yesterday that showed me how to do this exercise so i tried it out. :)

Hope your both having a great day.

oo0oo Like with the exercise ball... I have one of those I should start using it. It sounds like it burns a lot!

i don't know if you have an ipod...but I found on itunes yesterday free padcasts for yoga and pilates classes. I'm going to look for other workouts later tonight... i'll let you know if I find them:) I love free workout videos!

I hope your day is going great! Thank you for the sweet message on yahoo earlier:hug2:

I love what I'm reading, Heather. You're living, breathing and thinking weight loss a whole bunch. One thing I don't (usually) do on here is mention what to eat, but I do chirp a lot about the mind.

I think you're mind is grasping the changes quite nicely. It's a hard thing, I know, but if your mind keeps winning most of the battles, you're going to make it to the end.

Hang in there, tiger :)

thanks Jenna and Randy.

Jenna, your most welcome for the message i sent you earlier.

Randy, I'm not really sure I'm what you would consider a tiger yet.. lol but once i get really comfortable with all the changes and start really seeing a difference them maybe.. haha anyways thanks for the encouragement and making me smile.

Howdy M4,
Congrats on your 3 lb weightloss that is great! I got really
bad headaches the 1st week of not drinking pop but they getless andless intense and alieve always worked well for me.Have agr8 day Tammy

ok well today i found a great quote for that seemed to me like it would be great motivation but not sure what everyone else would think. Here's the quote:

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."

I found this to be motivational because i haven't really felt like exercising today but after reading that i went and did my two mile walk. I am taking it easy today cause I had my son's doc appt and dealt with him being crabby the rest of the day but tomorrow back to my normal routine and maybe some more exercise since i will be again without a car until my mom's gets out of the shop since it took them 3 extra days since they had to order another part.

Food for today:

Slimfast Meal on the Go bar: Peanutbutter
Lunch: Grilled cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread. 1/2 cup mashed potoates and peas and corn (left overs from dinner last night)
Snack: medium size banana
Dinner 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and 1 packet of fruit snacks

Not sure on total cals but will figure all that out tomorrow morning.
Exercise: 2 mile walk. and running after my son today since he hates the docs.

P.s. my headaches are becoming less intense and usually doing a little light cardio or walking around while sipping on water helps get rid of them.. Yay!!! :)

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow and thanks for stopping by my page.

HI Heather,
Thanks for the reverse crunch explanation. I will surely try it.
I am glad you found a motivational quote that work for you. I have one also and I have it all over my weight-loss spreadsheets. (yes I am a dork, and I analyze my weight-loss, can't help it I work with numbers all day. :) ) It is not as original as yours and I saw it a lot around here: "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". I like that and I think about that when I feel like eating that 1/2 gallon of ice-cream in the fridge.
i am glad your headaches are going away, soon you will never have them. One thing I noticed since I am working out: I don't get sick. Before even if I looked at somebody who was sick I caught it, now my hubby and daughter were sick twice this year and I managed not to get it!!
Anyway, hope you are having a good day, and I really enjoy our conversations on msn.
Hajni

The changes, by the time they become a habit you will already have seen a big difference. This is the part we hope to fall in love with so we can keep ourselves flowing on a downward spiral with our weight.

Without results we have very little chance of acquiring 'new habits'. It usually comes down to how much patience one has before they carry on full tilt or go back to the 'old ways'. You may be closer to the 'new habits' than what you realize. I see a strong woman doing incredibly well with her (new) mindset.

Ok today's food diary and exercise plans

Ok today's food was a little hard as i spent most of the day trying to fix my mom's stupid computer that says it has a suspect file on it but yet when i do the scans nothing shows up. Anyways spent at least four hours dealing with that then had to update several drivers and hardware and software programs that for some reason no one ever thinks needs updated. LOL :p

I swear I wanted to :boxing: the damn thing it kept telling me that there was something wrong with it when i couldn't find anything wrong until i went to check how many programs needed updated. I did 15 different updates alone on the thing so i am not sure if that was all that needed done or not cause i stopped after that.

Ok food:

Breakfast: slimfast meal on the go bar

Lunch: 1 cup mashed potatoes w/ teaspoon butter

Dinner: 4 thin slices of tri tip, 1 cup mac and cheese and 1 cup mashed potatoes w/ teaspoon butter

Snack: 1 medium size banana

Exercise: Mixed routine of upper and lower body and some abs: boy do i need to start doing more of both cause this really kicked my butt tonight. :)

Tomorrow's plans scrub the bathrooms and kitchen and do a 2 mile walk and abs workout. 15-20 reps 2 or 3 times for both upper body and lower body exercises too. ugh gotta love cleaning.. haha yeah right!!! j/k

Hope everyone has a great day and thanks in advance for stopping by my page.

Computers can be sooo freakin frustrating sometimes... I am guilty of yelling and swearing at mine... many many times. You never really know what they want... but the same meaningless error will appear over and over!

The aggravation itself is exercise:)

Ughh.... cleaning... my least favorite form of exercise... I'm just not cut out for it:rotflmao:

Yep yelling and all at the computers can be a form of exercise but cleaning i hate doing but its gotta get done some time or another so i might as well do it while the kiddo is sleeping for his nap... best time to do it while he's not able to get in the way.

Hope to get in my full workout today since i didn't yesterday.

Howdy M4,

You are doing really well and kudo's for measuring the mash potatoes lol I usually guess like 1/2 a plate yep that looks good haha well I can tell by those little dinner you get lean cusines ect you basically get 5 bites lol.
Well I hope your son is less crabby today and enjoy your Saturday tammy

Thanks amber, cinderelly, tammy and jenna for stopping by my diary.

I finally was able to get in 45 minutes of cardio today for the first time in over a week. Since my son has only been sleeping maybe 30-45 minutes for his naps but today i got the whole time in before he came and disrupted me today. I still have to make dinner but breakfast and maybe lunch were pretty good as far as cals not sure yet since i haven't added them up yet.

I'm going to do another 30 or 45 minutes of cardio tonight and abs tonight but so far today i have done 7,625 steps in just about 4 hours and most of that was the 45 minutes of my carido(ddr man i love that game. lol ) specially the workout part of the game since you input your weight and then decide which goal you want to work on. lol anyways hope everyone is having a great day. will post again later with totals on cals and my workout and everything.

Excellent ont he cardio - sorry abt your son and his sleeping schedule...been there done all that...feel free to add me to msn :D:D:D
